Thoughts on group E? Can Croatia keep 1st place in the last match?

Croatia will be facing against Slovakia and I don't know about you but I think they aren't even on the same level of competition. The first time the met in the group Croatia defeated them by four goals to none and that is pretty impressive since they have a draw against Wales. Just remember that Croatia reached the Finals in the world cup and they have defeated teams like England, Argentina, and Russia along the process so I'm very confident to say that they will finish the round on top of the table.

Croatia will be missing both first choice central defenders in that match due to suspension. Slovakia will be very fired up in order to try and get revenge for big 4:0 defeat. I will decide what to bet closer to the match when I have more information about possible injuries and more importantly on the state of Croatian players heads. We usually play better against strong opposition and not so good against weaker opposition. Slovakia is somewhere between and I hope our players will decide to treat them as top opponent. In that case we are winning, no problem.

We shall see, but betting wise, I believe both to score will be a safer option for that match.

There are 2 matches left for each team at the same time the opportunity to stay on track, the competition will be tougher especially for the teams ranked 3rd to 5th
Group G will offer the most intense competition, with several teams still having the same opportunities.
In group G, Poland has already qualified and Austria can qualify for UEFA Euro 2020 if they win one of the next two games. In the last week they will face Latvia which have lost all the eight previous games. Even if they lose to North Macedonia, they will easily win Latvia and qualify for Euro 2020 as the runner-ups.

To the Moon
While the most of the teams have already been qualified to the next round, there are still some interesting games ahead in the next fixture.
Those last games are always a great opportunity to gamble and place bets against the favorites.
For Ukraine, the last match will not matter, because even with a loss, it will have 1 place in group “B”. And I am very happy about this)
But I agree, in other groups it is still not so obvious.

Too bad you'll have too settle for a refund right ? After playing just the single goal through the first half I thought will only be able score a maximum of 2-3 more goals.

Yep, it's a refund. Shame, the last goal was in 92. min. Still better than a loss, right? Grin

I don't know what's inside robert moreno's head as spain manager considering it was an important match to qualify he switch kepa with de gea who always in the starting line up and benched the striker rodrigo.

they need a win actually but Romania gets draw which makes spain need at least a draw to qualify and luckily they got it thanks to rodrigo's late goal.

FYI spain didn't really play with the reserve , a key players like Ramos is suspended due card accumulation, jordi alba, Marco Asensio and  Isco is injured, that why there's some changes. What I don't understand is that he switch kepa with de gea.
Next time You should really making a deep research about how the match will run , not just an ordinary research based on statistics.

There are 2 games left and Spain has Malta at home next. They did not need that draw, it just made it mathematically secure for them with 2 games remaining.
I see that situation.. but is it better to secure the spot early and making an experimental game later on the rest of the group matches... isn't it? That logic seems unacceptable.

With a lot of key players missing the odds for spain to win that time was terrible below @2 , wonder why HuhHuh It's supposed to be more than @2

Well, I didn't know they were suspended and many of them injured.
When I saw the lineup I considered that they key players were benched.
Finally the game ended up with a draw 1-1.
Now you learned a lesson. Better luck next time pal.

Well as planned easy win for Italy with 4 goals scored in the second half, match dominated with almost 90% of ball possession.

The difference between teams was abyssal, nothing to add. 7games 7wins, this means nothing, I don't think we have players who can compete with top team, let's see next month.

We will play vs Bosnia, they need to win or they will surprisingly out of EURO 2020.

Bosnia lost to Greece today and highly deserved - Greek team completely outplayed Bosnia with 29:4 attempts for Greece.  Cool

As I mentioned in an earlier comment, Bosnia has a very limited quality team, with only 2 extra players, Djeko and Pjanic.
When one of them is absent, like Djeko, their chances of winning are minimal.
They still have some chances to win on their ground, which we saw in the match against Finland, but away they are very weak and have lost all group matches.
Now, Bosnia will have a new opportunity in the playoffs, it seems to me against Northern Ireland, Wales and some other team but realistically their chances for the Euro are almost nonexistent.
They just don't have the quality they need to do it.

Bosnia is not a superb team, definitely not - still you couldnt expect them to be dominated like that from Greece. I love the fact we played well (Im Greek  Cheesy) for the first time in years! If you watched us in the previous matches though, you would understand what I am talking about. We managed to loose to Faeroer Islands twice... LOL  Grin Grin Grin

Thoughts on group E? Can Croatia keep 1st place in the last match?

Yes, I believe so. We are a much better team than Slovakia, we are playing at home and they need to attack which will suit our gameplan.

X is enough for Croatia, but i do believe they will take it easily.

I too believe that Croatia will keep the 1st place in the group. We are definitely a better team, but there is always that little chance that we will defend that one point that we need and end up losing. Plus, our standard defending pair (Vida and Lovren) are suspended due to yellow cards. But I still don't think that we will lose. We either lost or draw three games because of Dalić's (Croatia's coach) poor tactics because of his poor tactics (games against Hungary, Azerbaijan and the last one against Wales). I'm sure he will learn something from those mistakes.

I think the problem of the Croatian football team is not in bad tactics but in the fact that Dalic doesn't have the courage to carry out a generation shift and get rid of some deserving players like Rakitic and Perisic.
Vlasic and Brekalo have already shown that they are the right players for the national team and that they should play constantly, as well as Petkovic, but due to its former merit, old  players play, who don't deserve it.
Such players play because of the hierarchy of the team and not the quality and it's obvious that they don't have the strength or the inspiration needed to carry the team play.
It will be very difficult in the match against Slovakia because there will be 2 defenders who have never played together and some other players like Rakitic don't play in their clubs.

Guess we didn't do well on our parlays, eh tomahawk;)
It wasn't just that parlay for me but the entire international break  Cheesy not a single win, probably my worst record this season, a week without wins :/

Hopefully, we'll get better luck in about a month when the qualifiers return.

But effing yay for Pukki!
Off topic but, did you know that Man utd want to sign Mandzukic? But not Pukki who's on fire lately  Grin odd, isn't it?

Alright, time to leave this discussion thread for a while, see you all in November.

I'm surprised that you expected Italy to drop points against one of the worst national teams in Europe  Huh

I was not thinking about losing the game but maybe to draw it.

You know, we already have seen games with 80% of ball possession in the past where the defender team scored a goal on the counterattack
Anyway, the scored 4 in the second half where the opponent team hasn't any more strength to keep the competition.

Liechtenstein did a couple of chances in the first half and they could have scored 1 or 2 goals, but the second half was an entirely different show as Italy were to take total control of the game.

Group I is the group that have their top two teams already qualified as Belgium and Russia have secured a place in the finals.

In the Group J, Bosnia and Herzegovina has no chance to reach the second place, Italy has confirmed the leading position, and Finland will for sure be the second placed national team in this group
That's it

What's worse is if your Bosnia and our boys from Eire actually DID win, Spain needed a 90th minute goal to equalise!

Such is the sport, such fine margins. Can't wait for the qualifiers to be over though, I can't believe we've had so many interruptions already to normal league football. As long as everyone returns without injuries, I won't be too upset.

But effing yay for Pukki!
