England are actually or were favourites to win the tournament and from looking
~snip~
That's for sure, but here are 3 big countries that have the best leagues in Europe. England is one of them. Maybe they are a little superior because they play at home. But all can not guarantee the England champion. Now 5 countries are not seeded instead advancing to the eighth final. I really didn't think they would be able to get here. Maybe later there will be another surprise in the final, not the country with the biggest league but with players playing in the big leagues. Maybe Belgium.

Hahaha, what a compliment! "Group of Death". Many people predicted that either team from this group would be the Euro champions this time. Unfortunately, none of the teams in this group qualified for the semi-finals. "Group of Death" turned into a dead group...  Lips sealed
Most people are now blaming Hungary for this reason, Hungary played very hard in their group so the other teams became powerless.

A funny picture, but it also has a certain logical meaning. Compared to other participants in the championship, the teams from this group have the highest competition from the very first match and a high physical and psychological stress, perhaps this affected in the playoff round and they simply did not have the strength to show their best game.

Spain certainly improved during the group phase... but they so nearly threw away their chance in the last 16. That first knockout round had some weird matches and weird results, but no team really looks invincible at the moment. So I'd definitely agree that whilst Spain should be favourites, we certainly can't say that Switzerland have no chance.

For me, there is only one team that hasn't shown any major weakness till now, and that is England. Spain conceded two draws in their first two opening matches and looked unstable. Now I will not deny the fact that Scotland held England to a draw, and in the remaining group matches they scored only one goal each. But at least when compared to the other favorites, they have done well enough. Spain is inexperienced and Italy is inconsistent. Belgium is overdependent on Lukaku. So for me, England is having the highest chances right now.

Are we writing off Switzerland against Spain? I personally feel that Spain haven't been impressive at all in this competition. While Switzerland might be performing above expectations right now, I believe they have some quality players, that can turn the tables against Spain.
Not completely writing off. I thought Spain's resolve after conceding two late goals was impressive.Their "growth" in this tournament is what I am counting on. There is no doubt that Switzerland have some quality players too and they know how to fight back. I just don't think they can repeat their performance against France.

Switzerland will definitely be playing tight against Spain for the mission to make history more than qualifying for the last 16 of the Euros and it will be a very interesting game to watch.
I must admit throughout the match, the Swiss game continued to improve, especially in a very disciplined defense and also managed to beat the great team of France, the 2018 world champions.
And during the Euros I didn't see Spain playing well and even boring and I can't wait to watch a game which is certainly very interesting.

With a very good game, I think Switzerland has a good chance to win against Spain. A draw is in any case after 90 minutes inside for Switzerland, in the offensive the Spanish were not really strong and compelling.

In Italy against Belgium, I see the game pretty even, but I think the Italians will get win on the end oft the day 😎

I think you all overestimate the quality of Switzerland because of the victory against France.
The fact is that the French team was in chaos and the players quarreled with each other, and Switzerland made great use of that.
Spain started weaker in the group stage but with each new game they play better and I think they are the favorites not only against the Swiss but the favorites of the whole tournament.
The match between Belgium and Italy will be very even and uncertain and extra time and maybe penalties are possible.

Another people we all are not putting into consideration is Switzerland. The team is so United with Granit Xhaka as their captain,if you take a close look at their match against France, you'll see the level of unity that was orchestrated by the team, and that is one of the quality of a team that will win.The team spirit seems very high, ready to defeat any opponent,so I am not rulling them out. They might surprise everyone.

Switzerland has a strong determination and Spain is now a tough opponent, but I think it will repeat its performance like with France I think they have a strong determination to win, as many say that Spain's performance is still less impressive they are still there a little weakness compared to other big teams but in this situation both can counterattack or at least it can be extra time.
If Switzerland are able to show another performance like yesterday then Spain will be overwhelmed with their style of play.

England it's not the strongest team in 1/4 of Euro, so chances are pretty good i think. At least, the same (as you noticed above) was with Sweden: very few people thought that Ukraine will beat it. But some people tells that this happened just because Sweden team had less players than ukrainian.
Up to this point, although there are many who say that there is a disparity between the teams, specifically that many people might consider Ukraine to be the weaker team. But I think, their chances are equal. It is clear that Ukraine won by their own strength.

Tomorrow we have two games, Switzerland vs Spain and Belgium vs Italy. With looking at some stats, the first game is good for both teams to score and/or over 2.5 goals. But for the second game, I still don't have any clues for now...
All match predictions seem to be wrong so far, but if it's about Belgium and Italy, I still see a bigger opportunity for Italy. Because until now, Italy is having a terrible unbeaten streak that not every team can do. So, I have more faith in Italy.
Ukraine will win after extra time.
I'm not sure who will win, but with Ukraine's style of play, obviously, extending to extra time can be an advantage

Not your keys, not your coins!
The only issue is; Xhaka. You never really know what your going to get from him. He played brilliantly last match, but he has a tendency to lose his temper. and composure when things start going wrong. If he performs, I think they beat Spain this time out, and judging by the odds they are a very lucrative option.
Xhaka is uncontrollable and Thiery Henry, as I read from newspaper, turned off his television when he saw Xhaka led Arsenal and worn the captain arm band. Henry does love Arsenal but he disagrees with the decision to give captain band to Xhaka.

Every good player has bad moment(s) in his career and that was Mbappe one. No one should be blamed for missing a penalty. Penalty kicks are very random at a point I think they ruined football but there isn't other alternatives to end an infinite game..
Mbappe is very strong and in his age, many other players are still young players. Mbappe has achieved many things in his career and World Cup is what many legendary players never won in their career.

Mbappe will be a core of France squad in next one decade and he will be more matured with time. Penalty kicks are challenge for any players especially the first and the last rounds.

Back to tomorrow games, can Switzerland make another surprise and kick Spain? Belgium - Italy, BTTS?

I think it will be more possible for Switzerland to surprise Spain. It seems to me that Spain has more fame than capacity at the moment.

Every great player has had some bad encounter in his career and it is inevitable. I would as far as saying that it is necessary to have some happenings like that, because the help champions grow even more.
Mbappé is clearly a champion and no penalty missed can change that.
Let the social keyboard lions play their game while Kylian becomes a legend.

Looking at Ukraine's performance, I think they still have a chance to beat England, although the chance is not very high.

Even so, it is undeniable that in every England-Ukrainian match, England will come out as the winner.  So my prediction this time is Kane will not let his team go home with a defeat in this long journey.  At least he will score goals for his country and meet his next opponent.  Ukraine itself is also a team that cannot be underestimated, they are also quite stable in their game.  But Kane is now highly expected to take England into the next game.

The Ukrainian football team cannot boast of a large number of attacking players.  Her credo is more of a positional game.

Moreover, such an opponent is very inconvenient for the English football team.

The Ukrainian team will not let any goals into their own net.  I'm sure of that.  The Ukrainians will wear down the British with their positional play.

Ukraine will win after extra time.

We will see everything for ourselves soon!  It will be a very interesting football match!

Kylian Mbappé turn into villain after missing penalty shots against Switzerland. The same young star was regarded as Hero in 2018 World Cup. He can say sorry but not change the story. Imagine that Mbappe's market value just the same as Swiss entire team's value, still the French were kicked out. Mbappé failed to perform through out their EURO 2020 journey, he might erase this chapter and start the new beginning.

Anything can still happen, although I also believe in Spain, Italy and England but basically I'm still considering the drama and surprises that might happen again in the quarter-finals.
I personally think Spain is not too strong and not too good and Switzerland could surprise again by eliminating the two big and favorite teams, that's possible I guess.
Regarding Belgium - Italy, I personally believe Italy have a better chance of winning, considering De Bruyne and Eden Hazard who are unlikely to play due to injury. That way, at least Belgium will rely on Lukaku in attack and I don't believe Belgium can win in such conditions against Italy.
But what's more interesting is the Czech - Denmark match, these two teams have equal surprises and chances to win and I really can't predict which one will win. But even so, I have to choose the winner and I prefer the Czechs.
For England, of course England will be the favourite. But here England will play in Rome which I think might be different, because in previous matches England played at home and it would be different when playing at a more neutral venue.
The only team that I can see not getting any upset at all is England, they are just way too good compared to Ukraine and they will definitely win that game. Aside from that the other two is just way too close to call. Not that Italy is bad, Italy is definitely good, if they were the ones playing against the Swiss or Ukraine or even Spain I would say that Italy would win, Italy actually did win against Switzerland as well, what I do not however feel sure is the Belgium game, Belgium is also another great team, they would also be capable of beating Ukraine and Switzerland and maybe even Spain, so Italy faced the toughest team after England they could face.

Spain on the other hand is normally a great team, but haven't been that great in this tournament, if you gave me the rosters on paper I would say there is no way Spain would lose but now looking at it, I think there is a small chance due to how they played so far.

So far no team has ever score a goal yet against England and that is a great achievement so against Ukraine probably England will have it alot more easier. If England can win against Germany then I cant name a single reason on why would they lose against Ukraine unless some players make a stupid own goal ( this would be crazy though if it happened lol)

Ukraine also scored a last minute goal against Sweden so its kinda like they are being lucky instead of was playing better against Sweden so England have a great chance to win
True, England have a greater chance of winning than Ukraine if the quality of their players is to be compared. England have not conceded a single goal so far while they managed to score 4 goals in 4 match. I'm not sure Ukraine will be a tough opponent to beat for England even if they both reach the quarter-finals. England will reach the semifinal and are one of the team being considered for reaching the final so far.

If English supporters have thought about the quarantine problem beforehand than they could have reached Rome in time for the match against Ukraine, otherwise the Italian
"I am very clear: English fans will not be able to come to Italy to watch the England-Ukraine match." This is the categorical comment of the Italian Gov Health Official Andrea Costa before the game scheduled in Rome on July 3 for the quarterfinals of Euro 2020. "There are 5 days of quarantine, the rule must be respected. We cannot take risks. If an English fan leaves today, he will not see the game. Same for those who left yesterday and those who leave today. No English fan arriving in Italy today will be able to go to the stadium to watch the match between England and Ukraine".
I wonder how many English supporters will not respect that rule Cool
