The red card has broken the Swedens neck as they was playing very well to this time . after the red card it was just a matter of time that Ukraine score the Goal.
Unlucky they did that in the last 2 minutes before the Penalties shoot would be coming.
With the instinct of an outstanding scorer, Andry Shevchenko reacted too fast and very determinant with the red card. He made a substitution quickly and commanded his players to do more attack, create more pressure and try to win the match in 120 minutes. Finally, he and his players succeeded.

Quote
Emil Forsberg was the best player for me in this match and i was hoping to see them coming in to the next round , sad they did not.
Forsberg is not a biggest player of Sweden in history and even now but he owned some record for Sweden. A good player and has amazing goals for his team in big tournaments.

Luck has always been part of the game and the fact is that Ukraine has been lucky ever since the group stage. Ukraine won only once in the group stage yet they got into top 16 and dramatically scored a last minute goal against Sweden.

The beauty of the QF's is the Belgium - Italy game, I'm tipping on Belgians. Is Chiellini ready? Italy could really use him against Lukaku.
Belgium remain my personal favorites for the title, and if they eliminate Italy, another team that people believe can win this tournament as well, then Belgium will be sending a big statement to the rest of the teams they'll meet in the semis and prolly the final; I don't know if Chiellini is fit, I do hope he is, so Italy don't miss one of their key players, is Eden Hazard and KDB out of the tournament, they both picked up an injury in the last game, it'll be a big blow if they can't play, and will definitely give Italy an edge in this game.
Czech Republic - Denmark looks weak on paper but I have been impressed by the Danish team after the 1st game. I think they will go through easier than expected here.
Denmark have done pretty well already, and I'm rooting for them to make it to the semis, they have broken through the barrier of the event of weeks back and used it to their advantage to get this far, it looks impossible, but it'd actually be a worthy sight should they get to the final, with Eriksen prolly watching from the stands.

Will the 3 big countries italy, spain and england? or 5 countries are not seeded?

Im not sure why you left Belgium out from the favourites list but Belgium has the potential to win The Euro. I personally think that either Italy or Belgium will make it but both of these teams are going to play against each another on top 8 rounds so only one would get to the next round.

Anyway, England would be the the only heavy favourites team that got the 'easy bracket' for the Final so England could make it though. England is going to play against Ukraine and then will go for either Czech Republic or Denmark on Semifinal. This is definitely better then having to play against Spain, Belgium or Italy

penalties IMO would have been "fairer".
Terrible match though, too many fouls.

Seriously, I never want  Italy, Germany, Portugal and France to be out of the Euro at the round of 16 stages. I consider all of these were upsets.
I won't be able to see many of my favorite players in Quarterfinals matches. I don't know about other people here but this made me really sad.  Sad

Italy? Italy is still there, right? Their quarter final match is against Belgium on 3rd July. It is going to be a tough task for them, but I am hopeful given their recent form. On the other hand, despite the presence of star players such as Romelu Lukaku, Belgium has been facing a lot of issues related to team cohesion and coordination. And in your list, Germany and Portugal were just unlucky. They got very tough opponents for their PQF matches. Not the case with France though. They should blame themselves for the poor performance against Switzerland.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Here are the Quarterfinals to be played

There are teams in your picture that many would certainly not have thought would get this far. But it also shows that a lot has changed in the teams in Europe and even many former outsiders can get far.

Now there have been a lot of changes and that's true, the star players in the top big leagues can no longer defend their country to advance to the next round even in the sight of a dramatic defeat which is so unsightly, of course I also regret what happened, but this is as football every euro is held there must be a change where a small team will be much more powerful to become the final candidate later.

Will Italy and Spain later meet in the final?
I think the country that did not expect to win will be the champions in the euro now.

~snip~

Surely the defending champions will change from Portugal, because they have to leave England. Maybe from here we can start to guess who the champion will be. Will the 3 big countries italy, spain and england? or 5 countries are not seeded? Everything is still a mystery. But I'm looking for Spain here. Although it looks difficult but I am happy with the Spanish game.

...
I just saw that England now is the favorite to win according to the sportsbetting websites! Well at least the have the seemingly easy way to the final at least  Wink
I'm not surprised since they are more popular than Ukraine, Czech republic, and Denmark because of the Premier League.

Maybe they will face Spain if they make it to the Finals. The Spanish team seems to be growing as they go deeper in the tournament.

...England, which was not convinced in the group stage, and everyone criticized Southgate for his choices, which made it difficult against Germany and defeated them without a mistake.
They didn't concede a goal but don't interpret that as a perfect game. The match was so open that either of the team could have won it. It just happened that the Germans could not convert their chances.

It's a shame Germany lost, I didn't like England's game... They didn't play football and they didn't let Germany play! It was a classic England bus... I hope Ukraine can win them, although it's almost unreal...  Grin

This is not disrespectful to Germany. England is not a weak team. Germany and England are teams of the same standard. However, Germany did not play well in the second half. They didn't have much chance to counter-attack after conceding a goal. We have seen lots of attacks and counter-attacks in Switzerland va France's match. But we didn’t see it in the match between Germany and England.

England are actually or were favourites to win the tournament and from looking
at the Sweden v Ukraine game last night England should come through that match.

Sweden were unlucky to get beaten so close to full tume in extra time. The winning goal
by Ukraine is a terrible way to get knocked out, penalties IMO would have been "fairer".
Terrible match though, too many fouls.

What a defeat for Germany: it looks me that Low cycle and that of his players can be called over. The young generation of English players have destroyed the old German panzer. It was about time, Germany needs to rethink its strategy for the future if they are to become again the old war machine.
England is now a serious candidate for the title, considering also that the final is going to happen in London, Wembley.

I saw Twitter and 9gag all awash with Low memes of him doing you know what:) I will miss him and I saw a lot of German tweets also saying it was his time, good riddance etc. I guess people forget a lot and so quickly about his past achievements and that they actually just needed fresh blood. England? I was happy Kane scored this is all:)

After the game with Germany, even though I don't like England and the way they play, I think now it's one of the favorite teams for winning the cup. Their path towards the final in Wembley is now anything but difficult while on the other side of the table Italy and Spain will have to fight hard to reach the final.
The home advantage could play a crucial role at this point.

I am a big fan of Italy, so it is natural for me to support them. They have performed well till now, with a relatively young squad. But as you mentioned, the path forward is not very easy. Their next match is going to be against the no.1 ranked side as per the FIFA rankings. On the other hand, the Brits are really lucky to have the weakest team in QF as their opponents. Spain will be playing against Switzerland, but let's remember that the latter managed to defeat the tournament favorites France. So for Spain also, it is going to be quite tough.

There have been a lot of unpredictable and incomprehensible results.
Turkey, which many expected to be the dark horse, came out of the first round with three consecutive defeats.
France, which was nominated by most of the followers to crown the championship, came out very early and was not convincing in many matches in the tournament.
Ukraine, which qualified because of Sweden's goal over Poland with one victory and a goal difference of -1 eliminates Sweden from the championship at the last minute.
England, which was not convinced in the group stage, and everyone criticized Southgate for his choices, which made it difficult against Germany and defeated them without a mistake.
Spain, which suffered both offensively in the first two matches scored after 10 Goals in two matches!! What's Next? How many more surprises to come?

I am confident that the Ukrainian football team will win over the England football team.  It seems like an incredible event ...

But it will be so!  This will be the main sensation of UEFA EURO 2020.

Belgium football team will be defeated by Italy football team (score 0: 1 or 0: 2).

The Czech Republic football team will beat the Denmark football team (3: 2 or 3: 1 score).

The Spanish football team will beat the Swiss football team with a crushing score (4: 0).

IMHO.

Why not? That Switzerland would advance against France was unreal, too Smiley

It is right. England was not good. But Germany was worse. That's why they deserve to go further. England was also not good in the group stage, so I think Ukraine has a chance if they play as concentrated and compact defense as they did yesterday against Sweden.

After the round of 16, there are three favorites for me for the title: Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic. I wouldn't have seen any of the three as title favorites before the tournament.

true, this year round of 16 euros brought a lot of surprises for top teams, Ukraine dramatic victory over Sweden, Switzerland success in overthrowing world champions France, and the Czech Republic who managed to repatriate the Netherlands were all part of the surprise, I personally didn't expect so many big teams to lose and had to be eliminated in the round of 16,  and not even a single group F team was able to qualify for the quarter-finals, even though we know that group F is filled with teams that were previously expected to win the euro this year.
