Denmark is hoping for another big victory when it takes on Wales this saturday at 05 pm in the opening match of the knockout phase at the 2020 European Championships wales also finished second in its group, with a draw, a win against Turkey and a loss to Italy in its finale. It is expected to be a tight game, with denmark , my prediction is the match very dificult and the each team have same chance for win this match , Although Denmark is a little closer to winning, probably of goals will be few in these matches always no more then two goal in the best case

Euro 2020 knockouts phase start today with the match between Wales vs Denmark. Bale is my favorite, but It seems Denmark for sure will be in the quarter-finals. The high speed game of Denmark could trouble for Wales. Denmark played some amazing football, at the group stage they finished with a win. I think today Denmark will beat Wales. Overall would be a good match today.
Yes, if you look at the record for meeting the Danish national team, it is indeed dominant with 6 wins compared to Wales 4 times, and the advantage in my opinion will be on Denmark's side.
The special comeback from bottom of the table to runners-up was incredible for Denmark, and defenders will be focusing on Wales who have Bale or Aaron Ramsey who can decide victory with a goal, assist or other important action for the team.
and it will be an exciting match and I expect the score will be even.

But I wonder why the England - Germany match will be held at Wembley Stadium, while for the other matches at least they don't play at home or in their own country. I realized that even though England were playing at home it would still not win, and I think this would be unfair because in other matches they played at neutral venues. Is there an explanation regarding this or this is still not a final decision which may still be subject to change.

Pure politics. EUFA was wondering for a long time where to go because most of Europe still has travel restrictions during EURO and England was one of the locations that didn't have pandemic barring entries. Apparently, anyway.

Even Netherlands played home games in Amsterdam during group stages which I thought was very unfair, but I guess well, pandemic is pandemic? And as I said, England home advantage isn't necessarily an advantage:)
Not only the Netherlands, because in the group stage several teams played at home such as Italy, England, Germany, and Spain. Entering the round of 16 each team seemed to be rearranged for the venue to be used and the only team that was still playing at home was England, I don't understand why this happened because if the reason was only the Pandemic I think it's not right but about politics it might be Shocked

Uhm, I see a lot of you guys are backing up Wales so can I ask why ? They game against Italy was so bad that they had to rely on other result in order to qualify...when Denmark fought to qualify like no other team because they lost first 2 games even if they played well and they did not give up and fought even stronger in the 3rd game. Today , most likely Denmark will qualify but they might have a tough game just because Wales defenders are pretty great if they catch a good day but if they don't ...Denmark will score a lot.

Today we will watch maybe 2 less attractive but very interesting matches.
It seems to me that Denmark and special Italy are the favorites but surprises are possible.
Denmark went through very difficult trials in this tournament and now they have their big chance while Italy was very convincing in their group but realistically they had no tough opponents.
Out of these 4 national teams, only Italy has a serious chance to win this tournament, but the Italians still have to prove themselves against stronger rivals.
Italy is an almost certain bet and the second match is much more uncertain.

I agree Denmark has a lot experienced players in their team, with Eriksen it would really be an experienced team but with him out of the tournament they are still really experienced. I personally thing that Denmark will win this match if they score first. Wales is mostly Ramsey and Bale and they will try only with them to go to the next round.

Wales have to be expected to lose this, but there's a funny sense of freedom a team gets when they've already overachieved and have no expectations, while Denmark still has a lot to prove -- I still think it's tighter than the bookies think, but if we get loads of goals, I'm happy.

If I had to choose, and only because I'm betting like this: Wales 2-0.
i agree with you, i also think that Wales can make it and qualify, and i also think the odds should have been closer than what they are right now, so i think a 1-0 win to Wales can easily happen, i don't expect a lot of goals in this match.

Denmark is favorites against Wales, but not that obvious as some people think. It's not worth to understimate Wales, they aren't bad team. Also, I think that big factor can be stadium where game will be played. Denmark had all 3 group stage games at home where they had amazing support and where spectators where true 12th player. Now gam will be played in Amsterdam, what is more or less neutral pitch. Still, I expect Denmark to win.
Italy - Austrai, with all respect to Austria, I don't see how they can stop Italy. I think that only chance for Austria will be only if Italy will come to game with wrong attitude.

This whole situation around eriksen inhibited the Danes a lot at the beginning, which is of course absolutely understandable. After the news came that Eriksen was better, the situation turned around and you now have the feeling that the Danes can now play freely and even show a slightly better performance than normal because they are now playing for their team-mate. That was really evident in the game against Russia, where they really gave everything.
I second that as well, I'm pretty sure the event is going to give them an extra motivation, it may not lead them to the title, but it could take them past Wales, or against any team of almost equal talents with them. Thus I'm expecting a really good performance from Denmark today cause even the neutrals will be supporting them, just for Eriksens sake. I predict a 2-1 victory for Denmark in this game.

This Italian team hasn't conceded a goal for 11 straight games and there are 30 games that don't lose a game.
It's not easy to win or score a goal against this Italia!

Interestingly, Italy's last defeat was the responsibility of Portugal, in the group stage of the League of Nations 2018/2019, on 10 September 2018. With Portugal winning the game 1-0.

Yeah, those kind of stats are monster, but of course, a KO tournament is a different proposition altogether and yeah, they were irresistible in group stage I have to say, but let's see them meet one of the big guns first after this and then we'll know their true worth. That said, the same can be said of any of the big teams (except Germany, France and Portugal who've had to tough it out early!).

Wales-Denmark is a match valid for the round of 16 of Euro 2020 and, like everyone knows, it'll be hosted today at 18:00 CET.
After the group phase, we can finally start with the more exciting knockout phase. Wales and Denmark are two teams that are certainly not among the favorites for the final victory, but that, at the same time, aren't new to surprising exploits in this competition.
Denmark has more quality but also more physicality than Wales, which can only count on a few good individuals and a good tactical organization. Kjaer and his teammates seem to be favored in a match with a total of less than three goals.

The game Wales - Denmark will be much more interesting than Italy - Austria. The level of the teams is approximately equal, but I expect Denmark to win. I really liked the game against Russia. Speed, aggression and precise implementation of the coaching guidelines are the key to Denmark's victory.

Yes, I have no doubts about Italy as well, but I'm not sure who will win in the Wales-Denmark match... Most likely Denmark... By the way the odds on the Welsh victory are much higher (4.9)! So bookmakers highly estimate the chances of Denmark... But I'll bet during the game! Wink

they are mostly young and that might put them in a disadvantage.

What??? I also think you are new in Football. Not many young players in the Danish Team at the moment, Just look at Simon Kjær, Martin Braithwaite, Thomas Delaney, Yussuf Poulsen.

For Prediction, I firmly believe it will be difficult for both teams Wales and Denmark to score goals.

If Christian Eriksen had been in the squad, I would have said that Denmark would have won today by any means. Eriksen is a very experienced player. Apart from Eriksen, the Danish team is good enough, but I am afraid because Wales has performed outstandingly in the last few matches. Won against Turkey and shared points with Switzerland. They wanted to share points with Italy, but unfortunately they lost.

denmark lost twice in the preliminary round and still made it to the last eight. this is the first time in the history of the european championship that a team has advanced one round after two defeats.
this is already a sensation. i am really curious which of the two teams will win today.
for me denmark is the favourite today and i think they will win the game very narrowly.
and tonight..... austria will probably say goodbye to the em tonight. i think italy will win because they simply have the better players in the team.

Well , yes. It will be more attractive than Italy - Austria but on the same time it won't be on the same football level so I will watch Italy - Austria just to see if the rumors that Italy will concede a goal only in the finals is true. Can they do that ? So far that defense looks unbeatable and I don't see Austria having that attack force to score at least once. So , a mini prediction would be 3-0 for italy and on the other game , Denmark to win and both team to score.

The italian game this year is really different compared to italy a few years ago, now the italian game is very beautiful to watch, i have seen and enjoyed their game so far which has left the old italian style of play which only focuses on defending, now italy is playing more attractively for attacking but also has a solid defense , we can see Italy is able to score 28 goals in the last ten matches and conceded no goals at all, apart from Germany and France, I think Italy is one strong candidate to be able to win the euro this year.

And just by looking at the stats, they have been winning both at HT and FT as of late.

Anyway what do you guys think of Italy team total goals of over 1.5 at 1.82?  Seems like it’s an easy pump fist bet to me.  But I haven’t really been watching this tourney much so I’m not really sure.
