I wouldn't lie given that there is going to be some best loser or best 3rd placed teams qualification, that literally cancel any potential group of death analogy, I also like the 41 Odds for Croatia to go all the way, Belgium also seem like good value to me, along side the other two teams in the same row as Croatia in the odds table, I mean Italy and the Netherlands, I really like those value, maybe I could separate bets on all these 4 teams to go all the way, if any does, I'll still be getting a minimum of 11x Odds in return  Grin Wink
I feel like as long as teams barely get out, they will lose a bit later anyway, if they weren't good enough to get points in their group, what makes them think that they will do fine after they get out of the group stages. Of course there could be some differences, but that doesn't mean that it will work that well, we need to make sure that things do look easy for most people in the end.

I think with shocking resulted team going to finals or something would be definitely not that easy, but we should probably consider them as lucky. I believe that the results will be basically the top ranked teams going all the way and that should be the case here as well. Why would that change anytime soon, a good team is a good team.

I dont know how Poland always make his way to the competitions, they play one of the worst and ugly footballs i ever see for years, but they still win some points here and there and with a few draws they go into the tournaments.

About the group, what a lucky guy is Cristiano easy group for them.

England and France are quite highly favoured for the championship. However I wouldn't have expected England to be favoured the most truthfully.  Tongue  I don't know maybe their reaching the finale of Euro 2020 was also a factor in this. But I would rather show France as the biggest favourite anyway. I believe they are still the strongest among these teams.

When it comes to England they really have an amazing squad which is full of so talented players. But their problem has been with the management. That's why they can't win a title even for once for many years.  Sad

Southgate isn't the right guy for this job I mean. England officials should consider a change to start off with a clean slate.
England do have one of the best squads in years, but to say that the coaches are to blame for the failures, I wouldn't. In 2020 at the Euros England reached the final and only by chance lost in a penalty shootout to Italy, and in 2022 reached 1\4 finals and lost to France, in fact one of the main favorites and France won with great difficulty, with a margin of one goal, but unfortunately for England in the French team has Mbappe and to win France now need to put not 100%, but all 200%.
This time I believe France is still the favorite of the tournament, and England is probably the second contender to win.

The Euro games will be very interesting, many good national teams have qualified and this will greatly increase competitiveness. Looking at the possible teams that could win the Euro, in my opinion I'm seeing two good teams at the moment which are:

- France

- Germany

Germany, after having had a very poor performance for a while, having lost against Turkey, then lost against Austria in friendly games under the technical command of Julian Nagelsmann, Germany this time in their friendly games chose strong teams to play against them, he chose the Netherlands and France, probably Julian Nagelsmann wanted to test Germany's strength after the probable changes he must have made to the team and to my surprise and I think this must have caught many people by surprise, Germany won in the friendly game against France, even though it's a friendly game, it can still be something positive. Then Germany won in the game against the Netherlands, who are also a strong opponent. That's why in my opinion Germany, being the organizing country and having shown good performance in these last friendly games, may be capable of winning the Euro

France is a team that in friendly games has shown itself to be a weak team, I believe this is a strategy by the France coach to meet the schedule and not let his players get injured and at the same time only the players stay in sync with each other In games involving the national team, I saw that in those games he didn't bring Antoine Griezmann, who is a very important player in France. This means that when France plays in the euro with Antoine Griezmann and all his good players, they will play seriously and in my opinion they can win the euro. For me, France is currently the best team in Europe.

other teams that I think could surprise are: Spain, England and Portugal

For Greece and Georgia it was an extremely important match, especially for Georgia, which seems to have got to a major tournament for the first time and therefore it is clear that the teams were afraid to play open soccer and one goal for 90 minutes hints at this, but in general emotions were decent, there were suspensions, scuffles and in extra time there were 2-3 chances and Greece and Georgia could score, but had to decide everything in a penalty shootout.

Wales played well enough in qualifying, considering that there are no stars there, and the golden age of Bale apparently passed in 2016, when Wales was able to get out of the group at the European Championship and reach 1\2 finals.
It's a pity that this time they were unlucky not to qualify for Euro 2024.

Georgia surprised, or rather I would say that Greece missed their last chance, when it came to penalties it became clear that everything could end badly for Georgia. I think it will be difficult for Georgia at the Euro, but in any case this is a good achievement for them.

In the Wales - Poland match, it was difficult to say which of them was stronger, but the attack line looked stronger in Poland, and I assumed that they would be able to achieve victory in regular time, but in this match, also everything was decided by penalties and the Poles played very well.

Of all the matches, I liked most how Ukraine acted, despite  that they were the first to concede, they dominated almost the entire game, and it was clear that they were full of desire to win. They now have a lot of players playing in top championships, and they coul to put together a good team.
Well Ukraine's odds were 1.7 and for Iceland's were 6. I certainly did not think that the difference in class of teams so great to write off Iceland and when the Icelanders scored first it seemed that the bookmakers made a big mistake giving such a low coefficient on Ukraine, but apparently bookmakers know everything and so in the end Ukraine really passed Iceland and came out not Euro.

Poland team do not have a very expressive national team and in general they were lucky that the Welsh team did not have a big star in the squad and that's why everything was decided in the penalty shootout and I think that if Wales had someone of Bale's level in the squad, they would have beaten Poland.

Hehehehe,  for me I don't think Lewandowski is really the one we should be concerned about in that team, he's just a diversion from the big guns there and I took the liberty of checking their group D and it's honestly going to be a miracle if they survive group stages because in a group where France, Austria  and Netherlands, you need more than just a decorated player like Lewandowski to help your team.
Yeah but this Euro will have 4/6 3rd ranked team progressing as well. So I am expecting 3 points will be more than enough to get out of the group and we may see even some teams going trough with less than that.

We could also see some top teams calculating a bit in group stages since it is almost impossible for them to drop out.

@41 odds on Croatia sounds nice. time to go all the way once Smiley

Well,it could happen but do you think Poland will be given the chance to even finish third in the group? I'm not being a spoil sport and ruling them out even before the tournament begins but I really doubt their capabilities. Let's hope we get shocked by 'em.

Except it's me getting what you are trying to do wrong, but if it's Croatia you're thinking to bet on to win the tournament, you're really going to need a lot of prayers for that to happen  Grin

Sometimes these type of things do happen and we have nothing else to do. I think we need to remember that we can't expect the "better" team to win every single time, sometimes they do win and sometimes they don't and there is really nothing to see about that, we just have to accept the loss and move on. Not that ı wagered on this, I never wager on national teams unless it's the cup itself, qualifiers and friendlies do not mean anything to me. The only games I bet on are euro or world cup, nothing else.

All the other bets are club teams and I believe that we are going to end up with something much better there, sure they have favourites losing there too, but there are more games so recovering it becomes easier in that case.

after georgia, ukraine and poland successfully qualified for the european championship yesterday and thus completed the groups, i have now updated the op title and also the graphical representation of the group stage in this one Smiley
The title change to the group stage is appropriate because the qualifying round has already been completed.
Georgia is in group f with Portugal, Türkiye and Czechia.
Ukraine is in group E with Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.
Poland, who qualified for the group stage because they managed to beat Wales, entered group D, which in my opinion was tougher because it included France, the Netherlands and Austria.

Slava Ukraini!
I wanted Greece to go through. My choice had nothing to do with their football quality, it was simply because I have a Greek friend who would have a bad week if Greece didn't go through and I'd hate to see him like that.
Too bad Greece is out. I haven't even summoned enough courage to call him and know how he's doing 🤣
I have nothing against Greece, but they're not getting much love from neutral spectators. I think that their football in 2004 injured us so much that we will remember it for our whole life.
Though, I had Greek player Georgios Samaras shirt, can't say that I'm hater of their team Cheesy

Germany did really well in their friendlies, beating both France and Netherlands.
I think that the expectations from their team have been low recently and that they have a decent chance of going far this time.

They should easily top their group - and after that would face a runner-up from group C. If that isn't England, Germany has a clear path to the QF's.

I'll put a few bucks on them winning, although I feel that it's coming home this year.
Previously Germany were hitting lowest possible bottoms, so, now there is only way up.
It's coming home this year - somehow I just don't believe that I will see it in my life, no matter how good they're. And I would prefer not to see it.

I would call Group B an obvious group of death, but due to the format of the tournament allowing the 4th best third place teams to advance to the 1/8 finals, it can be said that there is no group of death at all. In general, most of the groups are predictable and, given the second chance for everyone, the most interesting things will begin only in the playoffs. There will be no surprises or “big” games at the group stage.
Spain - Italy is certainly interesting, but not at the group stage.

Germany is a football country with quality football players. So I'm sure the players will do great things in their home countries. There is a fact that they were very bad in a few matches, but they left the last matches better and became stronger morally. Now that the groups have been determined, I expect Germany to advance from the groups in this tournament.
Germany should qualify from the group, the opponents are not the most difficult, but I would give my preference to France, if we are talking about the possible winner of the tournament. I'm a little surprised to see that England are given even more chances to win than France, although the odds are almost the same.
The most difficult group is probably group B, where Italy, Spain and Croatia will play, in fact, all these three teams could be worthy teams in the playoffs, but some of them will not be able to get out of the group.

France look good odds to win it, I think they’re the strongest team and squad in the competition. I don’t think England can do it, decades of miserable failure and let’s face it, a loser as manager, unlikely.

Look at Group B, group of death right there.

Would love Georgia to qualify for the next stage, what a story.

It's a shame that with such good performance conditions and great players Ukraine couldn't make it at least 2 goals difference in this match.
It is not shameful to me; a win is a win and should be celebrated. What is most important is that Ukraine made qualification for the Euro.
The host country has done well in the two friendly games that they have played against two tough countries. Winning the first one against France by two goals and yesterday against the very strong Netherlands team, they must be very confident again, and prepared to not just host but also win the competition.

It was a disaster for Wales when it went to penalties, Poland had better players from an individual standpoint, they had Lewandowski in the first kicker and had Szczęsny Cheesy. And I agree, with the form they (Poland) have at the moment they won't last long at the EURO.

Here we're not only discuss football and act as football observers, but we also discuss betting and odds. It's a shame because they can only win by 1 goal, whereas on handicap betting to get at least @2 they would have to win by 2 goals difference in regular time. Yes, I know they won and congrats on their victory, but on my side I lost the bet because the dominance they had was not able to make me double my money.

For the Wales - Poland match, I don't want to talk about that, my bet lost because Wales couldn't take advantage of their situation playing at Cardiff City Stadium. It was also a dramatic penalty round, the first 9 scored but not for the 10th kicker.
Well you can agree it was a considerably tough match and as such you don't  expect goals to be flying left right center as the both sides would be looking to defend their lines. On paper, Wales are the better side but if we look at the Polish squad, we've got more deadlier machines and not a surprise that the game was dragged to penalties and even there the battle for dominance continued till one had to bow out. It's a deserving win for Poland but I don't see them lasting long in the Euros.
