In the quarterfinal, it is almost certain that they will meet Spain/Italy and if they win = their opponent in the semifinal will be Netherlands or Portugal.

Are you pretty sure that Italy and Spain will pass their group and that Croatia will not be a problem? This is the same team in which players like Modric, Guardiol, Kovacic play and which has won a medal at the world championships twice in a row.
Croatia is definitely not a team to be underestimated in Group B and they will definitely qualify for the round of 16 as runners-up or third place in Group B.
To win the Group B, Croatia must at least be able to win 2 times with 1 draw, they will win against Albania but I doubt they can get 3 points from Spain or Italy.
That is why I think Spain or Italy have a bigger chance to become the winner of Group B and one of them will face Germany in the quarterfinals after beating 3rd place from Group A/D/E/F.

The home team always has the support of everyone, but I hope that referees will be no main stars in this competition. The fact that someone is the host of the competition should not be any criterion for a good result, and I hope that only the game will be the one that will decide in the end.
Actually, my favorite team is France. I also not sure Germany can win this one, but after checking at the schedule - it looks like they will be able to reach the final.

You won't see Rashford there.  Grin  Because I believe he doesn't deserve it after this horrible performance this year. I appreciate Southgate's choice. There are some new names to play in an official tournament for the first time. Such as Gordon, Mainoo, Quansah, Trafford as far as I can see.

Palmer can also be considered like that though as his playing time is really not much. He has had an amazing season.  Smiley

England has a really great squad and maybe this is their time, we will see...
Rashford performance was not impressive this season so I didn’t expect to see him among the list of players called up for Euro. I was not impressed with Southgate’s choices though, there are some players not included that i was surprised of because they have had a pretty good season and deserves to be included.

Sancho is a good example, he will be playing the champions league final in a bit and since he left Manchester United he has been on fire and his performance are not so bad so i expect to see his name included in the squad.

I expected to see Harvey Elliot in the squad in place of Curtis Jones because Elliot has been more important for Liverpool this season and his contributions to their game was impressive. Jones was out injured most of the time and that didn’t allow him to have a decent season.

Also they gave an excuse about Chilwell and James not included due to injury but Luke shaw who hass been out for many weeks and still recovering was included. That doesn’t sit well to me at all.

Damn this odds format, it hurts my brains  Grin 8 to 1, 6 to 1 etc. i can understand it easily but why 7 to 2 instead of 3.5 to 1? It seems to me that no one likes complex fractions (where the base of the fraction is not a ten but random numbers) and this format makes it easy to get confused and draw the wrong conclusions.

Right? I also like it in decimal style. It is easier to read and understand for everyone.  Smiley  I see it in decimal on most gambling websites as well.

Anyway here we have the full (provisional) England squad for Euro 2024:

Just three more weeks to go for the start of the tournament. This one is crucial for Germany, as they will be hoping to win a major tournament after a long gap. Lots of experience there in the German squad, with players such as Manuel Neuer (117 international caps), Toni Kroos (108), İlkay Gündoğan (75) and Thomas Müller (128) in the squad. But even then, from what I can see, England and France are the favorites as of now, and Germany is at the 3rd place followed by Spain and Portugal.

As for the quotes, Germany's chances are overestimated (due to the fact that they are the hosts of the tournament), otherwise everything looks logical.

Well after this week we surely can start burning up the engines for this competition, in this week Premier League ends and Bundesliga Ligue 1 also, only Serie A and LaLiga remains but with only one round reamining and most of the positions already resolved, after that the final of the european championships and we are just in the Euro in a blink.

I really am looking forward to the day Euro 2024 starts.  Roll Eyes  Whenever a new Euro tournament approaches my memories from the old Euros come to my mind. Those times were also really nice. Anyway, the first matches are going to be underway by June 14. Of course, the host country Germany are opening it with a Scotland match.

As for Germany the expectations will be really big from them as they are the hosts. To tell the truth, there is some progress in their recent performances but I still don't think they are good enough to be champions. What do you think?  Huh

Mmmm i dont know what to really think about german team, they have so many youngs and they seem to not find the correct path yet, they only had tis good last games who surely brings some hope to the people and the team itselfs, but i feel like the german federation know the rechanging of the new generation with the old one, was not as planed.

Even though Germany only reached the round of 16 at Euro 2020, as the host in 2024 - Im sure they will be able to reach the Final.

Germany definitely will be qualified as the winner of Group A (Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland) and in the round of 16, the winners of Group A will meet the runners-up of Group C (England, Denmark, Slovenia, Serbia).
I doubt England will be finished as the runner-up Group C, that is why it will be not hard for Germany to qualify into the next round.

Yep. Now I can’t even believe that after the end of the national championships such a big tournament awaits us. Taking into account the increase in the number of participants, this will be an easier tournament for the favorites (in the early stages) and overall I think there will be a lot of interesting high-scoring games. It’s good that the Champions League final is still ahead, otherwise the waiting period would be too long.

I don't trust a lot the current performance of the German national team but since they are the host then I will automatically back them especially that Scotland isn't that top in football in general.
I see Sane and Musiala injured in the Germany squad, yet the odds for Germany to win are quite high comparing to Scotland @+10!

Germany is undoubtedly the team that has everything in mind to see what can happen and how they can play, however now there is a lot of talk about Toni Kross, since he arrived he has changed the face of Germany, because they were losing almost every game In the friendlies, once Kross stepped aside so that the new generations could stand up for Germany, they did not do well at all, but it seems that it was not the best decision, in a team there should always be that one player who always scores. the way, he is a fundamental part of Madrid, his great passes are exquisite, he is a player who should win the Ballon d'Or.

I have always wondered that, but here what you know is that Deschamps has everything under control,
The French coach has listed players that he will be needing for the competition coming up soon and while I was looking at it, the biggest highlight was not Kylian Mbappe leading the team, but the introduction of two former players Ferland Mendy and N'Golo Kanté. I can remember N'Golo Kanté, who moved to Saudi Arabia after a successful career in Chelsea as one of the best in the position he plays. He has a lot of experience as a player, he can be very helpful in the competition for France.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/kylian-mbappe-leads-france-euro-2024-squad-announcement-as-two-surprise-stars-earn-shock-call/ar-BB1mwDZ7

I confess that I am very surprised that they called up N'Golo Kanté to be part of the national team even knowing that he plays in a league that is outside of Europe, this shows that the coach of the French national team is leaving aside the idea that only in Europe and if he has quality in terms of football and is betting on players outside of Europe, he probably saw that N'Golo Kanté's talent is still good even though he is playing in Saudi Arabia. The question now will be to see if N'Golo Kanté will play from the beginning of the game until the end of the game or if he will just be a player who will be sitting on the bench waiting for a better player to get injured so he can play.

because France's national coach doesn't make any major changes to the starting 11 players, he has only made changes when they are friendly games and always in friendly games France hasn't done very well. if in the first game of the euro N'Golo Kanté is not playing from the beginning to the end, then he will sit on the bench until a player from the starting 11 is injured or he will enter the field only when France is winning by many goals and the coach needs to replace a good player to rest. We will see in a few days or weeks when the Euro starts what the French coach's intentions are in calling up N'Golo Kante to the national team

This makes it clear that the leagues where the players are in does not matter, only the quality and level they have for football matters, well Portugal has CR7 and the fact that he is in the Arab League does not mean that he is bad , a player will always be approved if he shows good football, and that is only what technical players see, in this case I cannot say anything bad about Deschamps, only in the World Cup in Qatar that Benzema did not use, and possibly It would have made the difference in that final against Argentina, because we all know the contribution that Benzema the cat has always made, so Deschamps has his criteria, and well we have to respect it, although I am not a fan of the way he thinks.

Kante selection certainly surprises us, because indeed since 2022 Kante is no longer included in the French squad line-up, injuries and injuries are of course the reason France previously no longer called Kante to the French national team so far and besides Kante decline in performance while playing for Chelsea at that time was the reason France began to forget the best midfielder,  But it's surprising that now Kante started getting a call-up when he played in the Saudi Arabian League, Kante performances at Al Ittihad were certainly quite good and he was able to play regularly in each of their games, but I think there are actually many other midfielders who might be better to fill the French midfield than Kante.

But I think what the coach does of course has a very big consideration, choosing Kante, who is 33 years old, of course Deschamps has his own reasons, but if you look at the list of midfielders owned by France at this time, of course, it is quite unfortunate if young players who are performing quite well with Crystal Palace at this time do not get the trust of Deschamps,  Yes, Michael Olise in my opinion is indeed quite worthy of being in the French national team at the moment because of his good performances with Crystal Palace this season, but reportedly at this time the 25 players are not final to be brought by Deschamps to Germany because there may still be squad changes they might make after playing Luxembourg or Canada later in the friendly.

I don't feel like Ferland Mendy deserves to be called to the national team. He hasn't showed an impressive performance in all tournaments with Real Madrid this season. He is a very inconsistent player imho.

The Kante call sounds interesting to me as well. This guy didn't play because of an injury for a season and now he is playing in a league which nobody cares.  Sad  I wouldn't be convinced with him just because of his effort in the Saudi league honestly. I believe those good days of Kante no longer exists. I'm really happy for Zaire-Emery. He is a good talent and this is going to be his first national team experience with the main squad.  Smiley

How's Mendy and Konte's inclusion the biggest highlight from the announcement? I read that players that have picked for recently including Olise (Crystal Palace), Malo gusto who has played a pivotal role in Chelsea's rally from the 10th they have been sitting all season and are currently on venge of finishing above Man Utd in the premier — he was left out too amongst others like Moussa Diaby at Aston Villa.

Those players that were left out are my biggest highlight even though the named players are a very good bunch.

Kante a bit surprising, but not shocking. Mendy's kinda 50/50. So I agree, not even highlight. Kante is in category of 'experienced players playing in shit leagues'. You can see also Wijnaldum who hasn't even been great since leaving Liverpool, now playing in shit league, and still getting callup. I bet a lot of Dutch midfielders are mad lol

Olise is definitely deserved, ter Stegen still made it to Germany, but I doubt he plays much.
