Just three more weeks to go for the start of the tournament. This one is crucial for Germany, as they will be hoping to win a major tournament after a long gap. Lots of experience there in the German squad, with players such as Manuel Neuer (117 international caps), Toni Kroos (108), İlkay Gündoğan (75) and Thomas Müller (128) in the squad. But even then, from what I can see, England and France are the favorites as of now, and Germany is at the 3rd place followed by Spain and Portugal.

England has a good squad, they have a lot of good players in the national team, but when they are playing, they do not appear to be a very dangerous national team, we saw this in the world cup, they were seen as one of the favorites, but during the games they did not They showed great things, which is why in my opinion England would hardly win that euro, probably teams like France, Germany, Portugal, Portugal or Spain would win the euro. I'm rooting for Portugal to win, unfortunately Portugal can no longer count on the performance that Ronaldo had when he was young, so it will be very difficult for them to win the Euro, but in these types of competitions, luck plays a very important role

especially when the best teams play against each other, eliminate each other and the weak teams are left, in these scenarios teams like Portugal manage to win the euro and I'm hoping that there is a scenario like that in which France plays against Spain, then Italy plays against Germany after the group stage and eliminate themselves until Portugal faces a weak team in the final and Portugal becomes champion

England is actually in a tougher group. In Group C, they need to face Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia. All three are strong teams and Serbia is in top form right now. On the other hand, in Group D, France has Netherlands, Poland and Austria as the opponents. I don't think that they will be too bothered during group phase. Especially with Netherlands, who are on the decline for some time.

Is this a tougher group for England you think?  Huh  I think differently truthfully mate. The qualification phase shouldn't mislead you. Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia all had really easy opponents in their groups. Normally I don't think they can hold off England. I would only give Denmark a chance on that. Because their squad are more capable.

France are likely to have a bigger challenge to face. Austria are in great shape lately. We have seen it even in recent friendlies. Poland are a mess but Netherlands are stronger. At least much stronger than England's opponents in Group C.  Grin

England will have quite easier parcours especially in the group stage and will not lose a lot of energy comparing to France which has Netherlands and Poland to face. Even group B is complicated with Spain and Italy along with Croatia in it. The risk of being eliminated since this stage might be taken on consideration for the odds. Otherwise I don't find England as better than France or Spain personally.
Denmark and Serbia are not the easiest teams, but you are right that England shouldn't have too much trouble getting out of the group and into the play-off stages. For France, I also don’t see any big difficulties in the group, at least the Poland you mentioned is now too weak to cause problems for anyone in this group. I also doubt that the Netherlands or Austria will be able to beat France.

And group B is perhaps the most difficult, perhaps I would give preference to Spain, and second place is a difficult question, Italy and Croatia are both good teams, I cannot give preference to either of them. How quickly time passes, in a couple of days summer will begin and the final part of the Euro awaits us. For me, France are probably the favorites for this tournament, despite the fact that Germany will play at home.

I also have the same idea with you on Rashford's not having a good season. I just wanted to say that it wouldn't be a surprise for me to see him being included in the squad because of being experienced.

Yes there is a justifiable reason as to why Southgate did dropped Rashford, this season England had some great players Coming out of the ranks and giving Southgate a selection headache. So I wasn’t too surprised to see him missed the cut. But we need to ask ourselves, is this still a case of poor performance only that made Rashford to be dropped because if it is so  then the likes of Grealish too shouldn’t be there because stats wise Rashford had a better season than him. Rashford too me has never been appreciated much by Southgate because even last season when Rashford had one of the best seasons of his career he went to the World Cup to get just few minutes, so to me there is also personal preference attached to his exclusion

Turkey are having quite much problems on especially goalkeeper and forward topics. Therefore I also don't think that we will progress so much further in the tournament. I hope that we can make a surprise.

Turkey seriously have lost the pedigree they use to have in the past when they have five or more classy players that they can boost of turning the tie around for them. Currently I would say they have a squad that is young if managed well will definitely caused problems to other Nations. In the Goal keeper position I think the Manchester United second choice Bayindar will definitely slot in, although he hasn’t played any significant minutes this season, to me watching him in the only game he’s played for Manchester United this season I think he could do the job. As for the forwards, the likes of Arda Guler and Juventus Yildiz might look so young but they could be pivotal in this competition looking at how they have faired this season

~Snipped

It's your opinion and that's fair too but for me, I would be in disbelief to see Rashford get a slot ahead of others since we all know for a fact that England squad is always packed with plenty of quality so it would be unfair for Rashford to get a slot ahead of other in-form players in the team. If you want to win trophies in football, you'd want to always put your best foot forward.  England isn't exactly the same as Man Utd where favoritism is the order of the day.

Look, even Joe Gomez got a slot  Grin

Türkiye's EURO 2024 squad has been announced. Looking at the players, it's clear how inadequate this so-called golden generation squad actually is. There are many good names in the team, but here is the problem, these players are only "good". There are no superstar level players in the team. It doesn't seem realistic to achieve success with this squad.
Apart from Hakan Çalhanoğlu, none of the players in the squad are at star level. I hope this young squad will improve, but I wouldn't expect any success from the team at this stage, otherwise it will end in disappointment.

I was thinking that Rashford would be called just because of his experience. However Southgate made a different decision on this topic. England are shown as the biggest favourite of the tournament. Foden, Kane, Bellingham are all names who can make difference in big matches. In the World Cup if Kane didn't miss that penalty against France, maybe England were going to join this tournament as the last World Cup champions.

I don’t see any reason why Rashford should be called because I don’t see what he will do to help the squad, his performance in the team is not good enough to call him, many players are better than Rashford in England, England has many players that they will be called and make England proud, England must call Foden, Bellingham and Kane these players are very important in the squad because they are having a good performance every season, I don’t see anything wrong by not calling Rashford, although he will feel bad by not being called but every country will do anything just to make sure they get a good player that can make them proud.

Rashford is one of the players who sometimes has a poor performances, we can see that even Manchester United fans are not happy with his performance this season, he missed many chances to score goals and when a player doesn’t score goals when he has a chance the fans are not going to be happy, so Rashford needs to improve his game mentality and play well next season if not even Manchester United will put him on market and sell him to another team.

You won't see Rashford there.  Grin  Because I believe he doesn't deserve it after this horrible performance this year. I appreciate Southgate's choice. There are some new names to play in an official tournament for the first time. Such as Gordon, Mainoo, Quansah, Trafford as far as I can see.

Palmer can also be considered like that though as his playing time is really not much. He has had an amazing season.  Smiley

England has a really great squad and maybe this is their time, we will see...

What time? Time to do what? You think it's one easy task there? And even i it's, they cannot win it with Gareth Southgate. He doesn't have the capacity to lead them to glory, although ,I will love to see him prove me wrong.

Y'all even have enough energy to talk about Marcus Rashford? That tw@t shouldn't have made in nowhere and I'm cool with the decisions of Southgate on this one. They have some names which I feel like shouldn't have made the list though. I will start from goal which is no other name than Aaron Ramsdale. I wonder what he is doing there. As much as I'm concerned, Dean Henderson is the only sound goalkeeper because Jordan Pickford is not someone I rate highly because he barely makes good use of his legs and his filled with errors.

Luke Shaw is also a name that shouldn't have made the call, but I don't know. He's just returned from Injury and they're forcing him into the squad.

Having Curtis Jones and Alexander Arnold as midfielder's makes zero sense. They lack so much quality in that midfied and it will definitely hunt them down when they meet clubs who are better and technicality brilliant in midfied.

Jack Grealish had been on the bench for a long time this season, he wasn't utilized by Pep Guardiola same way he was, he literally did nothing in this years Premier League Competition win and whatever. Southgate will regret bringing him in for the Euro's. We have qualified players who merited it but are not called up.
Asides that, I'm cool with his other additions.

Rashford performance was not impressive this season so I didn’t expect to see him among the list of players called up for Euro. I was not impressed with Southgate’s choices though, there are some players not included that i was surprised of because they have had a pretty good season and deserves to be included.

Sancho is a good example, he will be playing the champions league final in a bit and since he left Manchester United he has been on fire and his performance are not so bad so i expect to see his name included in the squad.

I expected to see Harvey Elliot in the squad in place of Curtis Jones because Elliot has been more important for Liverpool this season and his contributions to their game was impressive. Jones was out injured most of the time and that didn’t allow him to have a decent season.

Also they gave an excuse about Chilwell and James not included due to injury but Luke shaw who hass been out for many weeks and still recovering was included. That doesn’t sit well to me at all.

Actually you have a point there. I agree that there are some inconsistencies in Southgate's choices. While giving chances to rising young talents there are some players who he has forgotten about.

Elliott should have definitely been in this squad. He completely deserves it after showing great performances during this season.  Smiley  He is still in England U21. I agree about Sancho as well. Since he joined back Dortmund he has been performing way better. Like these, there are some debatable points with his squad selection but we will wait and see.

Croatia is definitely not a team to be underestimated in Group B and they will definitely qualify for the round of 16 as runners-up or third place in Group B.
To win the Group B, Croatia must at least be able to win 2 times with 1 draw, they will win against Albania but I doubt they can get 3 points from Spain or Italy.
That is why I think Spain or Italy have a bigger chance to become the winner of Group B and one of them will face Germany in the quarterfinals after beating 3rd place from Group A/D/E/F.

Why do you think that the team that is on the 10th place in the FIFA rankings can't beat the team that is on the 8th place on the same list (Spain)? 4 years ago, Croatia and Spain played a super exciting match in which Spain managed to win only after extra time - but only thanks to the reckless moves of Rebic (he no longer plays for Croatia), who went outside the game to change his boots in the middle of the game (Spain scores a goal), or the inexperienced Gvardiol who went to the goal line to drink water (the Spaniards score again). Bookmakers also underestimate Croatia (win odds over 5.0), and some have made a fortune on that - and I hope they will again.

For me personally, all matches between these three teams are completely open to all outcomes.

I don't blame Southgate one bit for his decision to dump Rashford for more better alternatives. Rashford has been a mid at best all season and those mediocre performances were evident in the way Southgate choose to leave him out of the squad. There are times in life where you have to choose between a favorite and someone that can make things happen — you want to pick the latter every single time. Even Rashford is aware that the just concluded season was one of his worse that's why he didn't hesitate to wish Southgate and his England colleagues well in the tournament.

England had plenty of quality, certainly not all of them will make the cut.

Of course Italy being the reigning champions of Euro 2020 starts as underdogs for them to win the final will be very depressing. I have seen Mister Spalletti's squad and from the list of 30 players called up I have seen that he has made some very questionable choices. I hope for them that they at least manage to get through the round even if I see it as very difficult, Italy is not what it used to be.

The English national team currently has a lot of young talent so the competition to enter the English senior ranks is going well, many young talents have emerged with good performances which have impressed Gareth Southgate and will lead him to represent England, but look at Marcus Rashford's game this season It would be appropriate if he was not called upon to represent his country, Gareth Southgate is the coach who is most busy looking for names of players who can represent England, he will not be impressed with the game that Marcus Rashford has displayed this season.

Seeing that Marcus Rashford's game is not developing enough, this is something to be wary of, he must be aware that he can develop so that he can be trusted to return to defend the country, this is a warning to him that this season Marcus Rashford is playing badly and badly, of course the fans are asking him to try more working harder to improve its performance.
The England national team manager  Gareth Southgate make huge rotation with squad for Euro 2024 after some senior players not including in the list name such as Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Jordan Henderson and most priority with youth talent or some players will make their first debut on Euro 2024. I think its normally with  Gareth Southgate leaving some senior players behind most of them get downtrend performance with their team exactly for Marcus Rashford, but he has chance for upcoming moment on World Cup 2026 or next Euro 2028 behind he has long moment for playing football.

Regarding 33 players have announced for Euro 2024, England get lack position on left defender just has Luke Shaw, I don't know who will fill that position later if Luke Shaw underperform or get injury because Gareth Southgate very brave only have one left defender behind on right side many option.

Damn this odds format, it hurts my brains  Grin 8 to 1, 6 to 1 etc. i can understand it easily but why 7 to 2 instead of 3.5 to 1? It seems to me that no one likes complex fractions (where the base of the fraction is not a ten but random numbers) and this format makes it easy to get confused and draw the wrong conclusions.

Right? I also like it in decimal style. It is easier to read and understand for everyone.  Smiley  I see it in decimal on most gambling websites as well.

Anyway here we have the full (provisional) England squad for Euro 2024:

Yes, the decimal format is the most adequate, but there are lovers of perversions or simply those who cannot calculate the quote in any other way than “to get X amount of winnings, you need to bet Y money.”

It would be strange if Rashford were called up, it was a disastrous season for him, but still this decision by the manager caused some noise so he must be praised for his determination. England is one of the two main favorites of the Euro and if the result is weak (I think if it is lower than the semi-finals) then everything will be remembered, including this decision.

Marcus Rashford is a big player without doubt and have been called to represent the England national team in different tournaments but was left out of the provisional squad that'll represent England in the upcoming UEFA Euros Championship that'll be played in the summer. Considering the choices the national team coach Gareth Southgate made, I think it's fair to say that Marcus Rashford's current performance do not in any way make him a better player than any of the forward players that was listed.
