Tonight are the last matches of the EURO 2024 qualifiers. I will watch the Wales-Türkiye match. Will Turkey or Croatia be the group leader? It will be clear tonight. If Turkey draw with Wales, it will be the group on the top for the first time.

Wales's starting XI against Türkiye: Ward, Roberts, Rodon, Lockyer, Davies, Williams, Ampadu, James, Wilson, Broadhead, Johnson.

Türkiye's starting XI against Wales : Uğurcan, Ferdi, Samet, Abdülkerim, Cenk Özkacar, Salih Özcan, İsmail Yüksek, Abdülkadir, Yusuf Sarı, Kerem Aktürkoğlu, Barış Alper Yılmaz.

I think Italy were very lucky not to lose to Ukraine in yesterday's game... Italy was lucky in the game against North Macedonia, although they managed to score five goals... But the 0-0 game against Ukraine was very risky...
I feel like Italy's inconsistent playing will hurt them a lot, that's not really acceptable level for them and it should be considered one of the worst situations for them. They could have won 5-0 against Ukraine too, or they could have lost, that's the weird thing, before the game both was possible, normally if a team is good they are good, like if France played Ukraine I would say it would be a huge huge huge shock if Ukraine managed to win, whereas when it's Italy that is playing against them, I am not shocked at the possibility of a dominating win, or a humiliating loss by them, both are possible. That should not be possible, if a team is good they are good, they can't be both good and bad at the same time but Italy could be.

Slava Ukraini!
There is one spot in EURO yet to be taken through qualifiers. But Wales is in realy difficult situation - they not only need to win against Turkey, but also that Croatia would lose to Armenia, what isn't likely to happen.
In other game, big question how many goals Netherlands will score against Gibraltar. Probably not 14 like France did Cheesy. So, I go with over 5.5 @2.10. And I also pick France ML vs Greece @1.66.

Interesting thing, San Marino scored a goal in the 3rd match in a row!
Wow, it's probably first time when they scored 3 games in a row. Who knows, maybe one day soon they will win their first officila game ever Cheesy

What bothers me though is that they didn't even check VAR. OK, the referee is close, he's got a good view, but it's a moment of huge significance - at least go and see - make sure you've made the right call.
I'm not 100% sure about VAR protocol, but I think that fact that game wasn't stopped, it doesn't mean that VAR didn't checked that moment. Maybe they watched it once or twice  and gave signal to main referee that there is no need to make moredetailed review and stop the game.

Finally Italy success qualified to UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany after getting one points against Ukraine although on Group C qualifier current standing have the same points but Italy manage head to head and goals difference than Ukraine. Its most crucial for the winner of UEFA Euro 2020 Italy have on bad position in qualifier round but unfortunately success get on place for qualifying to Euro 2024.

So far the national teams have been qualified to Euro 2024 and still have fewest group still one match left.

  • Germany as host
  • Spain
  • Scotland
  • France
  • England
  • Italy
  • Turkey
  • Albania
  • Czechia
  • Belgium
  • Austria
  • Hungary
  • Serbia
  • Denmark
  • Slovenia
  • Romania
  • Switzerland
  • Portugal
  • Slovakia

If miss national teams who have settle placed in Euro 2024 you can pick it below in my post

Quite a slippery result for Italy (one goal could have buried them) and I don’t think the national team’s fans are happy with Spalletti’s performance.
In fact, all the teams that qualified are known except for Group D, where Wales has a theoretical chance to overtake Croatia, but for this, Wales must beat Turkey, and Croatia cannot beat Armenia at home. I would give no more than 5% for such an event.

Lukaku is underrated when he plays in the international competition. I don't know why people keep call him lakaka despite his performance that is not that bad overall. Im thinking about he shall get another chance.

This is why i don't even mocking him like what others did. Lukaku is underrated striker. This guy is still having potential even though he is not young anymore.

he was scoring a lot against zerbaijan.
It is clear that those who called him lakaka are not very smart people and that's putting it mildly. Lukaku has always been a great forward, he scores a lot, he is dimensional and at the same time incredibly technical for his size and can score from almost any position and with his feet and head and on the point of attack Lukaku is deadly.

All his problems were related to his character, judging by the description in the press, he is a very interesting person, speaks several foreign languages, he is not seen in scandals in nightclubs before the game. In general Lukaku is a Catholic, who does not touch alcohol and apparently quite difficult to relate to criticism in his address and is often offended by it, but those who can find an approach to him, such as Jose Mourinho, Lukaku opens up fully, scores a lot and often.

The problem is sometimes I feel like he is overrated and the other times I feel like he is underrated. But to be honest, I think he does not deliver the performance that is expected from him. At least a lot of times that has happened. To be honest I actually also agree with you that he is also someone who needs to be treated properly to get the best performance out of him. There is no doubt that he is a good player. But if the situation is a little hostile, he is definitely going to find it difficult to perform at his best.

What a robbery for Italy vs Ukraine.

Was a clear penalty IMHO. What do you think

I agree with you on that. It was a clear penalty for Ukraine there. Because as far as I can see there is a contact with Mudryk's foot. I don't know how they still continue to make mistakes in the presence of VAR technology. If they examined the incident in detail they were going to realize that the final decision should have been the opposite.

Maybe Ukraine could have eliminated Italy there but a bad decision brought their end instead.  Sad  I can't say Italy were great in terms of performance here but I must admit that Chiesa and Donnarumma were really impressive.

Yeah it's penalty. That's clean. The referee was blind. The referee is clear having an agenda to rob ukraine from beating italy to be qualified for euro 2024. I will not believe if there was no agenda owned by UEFA as said but aleksander ceferin on his statement called a disaster if italy won't qualify for the euro 2024.
Ukrainee deserves a penalty. Mudryk has been doing so much for his club.

As an Italian I am ashamed to have witnessed a qualification spoiled by a missed penalty, I understand that for Italy to miss this European Championship would have been a drama and a disaster, but obtaining the pass like this is truly disappointing, unfortunately the rule applies that if the referee doesn't blow the whistle, it's not a foul and furthermore we don't know if the penalty would actually have been scored by the Ukrainian. I hope that the Italian football league gives a breath of improvement for this national team because we are really losing a lot of ground compared to other nations

I believe that it comes with youth, there are a lot of talented young players on that team which means that they are more inclined to make mistakes, that doesn't mean they are not talented and I believe that they are a great team, but between making mistakes as a young team, and also not being abler to play too much games together, that creates a bit of an inconsistent team.

I mean when playing well and clicking good together they are capable of playing against the best and winning, but when things go south they may end up losing to anyone as well. I believe that we are talking about a situation that will not be all that easy, and we should be considering the situation a little different on the long run for them, they could get better with time.
When we talk about youths generally we should know we’re speaking of ones who still need training and grooming, it’s very normal to make mistakes but what’s not pretty cool is when after the mistake, there are conclusions that the young players are without talent, cause such comments could affect the player negatively.

When the team plays together it results in the team been cohesive and having a strong force to defeat opposing team, with time and more training, a team of young players would grow and be a formidable team that would have some quality players, but to achieve that, they ought to work very hard on the pitch and play with a good team spirit

Greece will face France in Group B. With another win in the Euro qualifiers, France will look to finish the qualifying round at the top of the points table by winning all their group matches. France beat Gibraltar 14-0 in their last outing and top the group with seven wins from seven matches. France have scored the second most qualifying goals with 27, behind Portugal. Although Greece's qualification is very difficult to guarantee as they look to win their last match. Greece sit in third place ahead of their final group game, with Greece sitting in third place with 12 points, having won four of seven. France have won two of their last three matches against Greece. Greece can draw France 1-1 at home today.

The Greeks have no chance of reaching the final stage of Euro 24. France secured their exit from the group, but even against Gibraltar they played at full strength. In that match Deschamps' team scored 14 goals and never conceded and the French set a record of all qualifiers for Euros. The Greeks will play at home and it will probably be hard for the French. But I think France will win with 1 goal advantage.

Ukraine had to grab a win against Italy to lock in their spot for EURO 2024. But, after the draw, Italy snagged automatic qualification, leaving Ukraine with more matches to go through. Honestly, I feel like Ukraine deserves a spot in the Euros next year. They're not an easy team to face. Even though they finished third, they still have a chance to qualify through the playoff round.
Yes. Ukraine should be applauded for their efforts in fighting to qualify automatically from the group. But what can be done when the result obtained against Italy has to be satisfied with a 0-0 draw and from that Italy has the right to qualify as runners up alongside England. Congratulations to the Italian national team.
In the playoffs, if Ukraine is able to maintain their best form, there is no way they will fail.

I would not give the penalty. There is some minor contact, but Mudryk's really pushing for it to be given and is throwing himself unnaturally.
I'm not saying it isn't, I've seen them given for less, it's just my opinion that it's too soft.

What bothers me though is that they didn't even check VAR. OK, the referee is close, he's got a good view, but it's a moment of huge significance - at least go and see - make sure you've made the right call.

I also agree that VAR needs a lot of tweaks and upgrades, they have to add a lot of rules as to when the VAR should be called out no matter how close the referee is,I have seen referees though totally bypassing it even when it was flagrant and they have gone to see the review, they kept their idea which was obviously totally wrong, some strong punishment should be also added to the rules for such individuals who ruin the games of many teams and consequently even a lot of bets, most probably the FIFA/UEFA does not care much about this last thing but for me is of utmost importance.

The Ukraine-Italy match was a very critical match and Ukraine could not get 3 points from this match. Although Italy was effective throughout the match, the match ended 0-0. Ukraine will now try to qualify from the Playoffs, but their efforts certainly deserve praise. I think this score is very good in this group.

It's not going to be easy to qualify through the playoffs. And also, they will be facing very tough teams during the playoff round. But I agree with your take on Ukraine. Despite all the negatives related to war and politics, they put up a very strong showing during the qualifiers. Also, don't forget the fact that they had missed qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup by a whisker (by losing to Wales in the last playoff match). I agree that they deserve a spot in the Euro Cup of 2024. But they need to win the next 2-3 playoff matches in order to achieve that.

France will go to Greece away and I think they will win there. Even though it is a difficult group, they continue without loss by making 7/7. Moreover, they scored 27 goals in 7 matches, averaging almost 4 goals per match. I think they can beat Greece in the match tonight because their squad is amazing.

it looks like it was a clean penalty, the foot play was visible in the movement and on the replay, but the referee didn't give a clear penalty. I think that the goal was not to deprive Ukraine, but rather to let Italy go out, because the 3rd time without any European tournaments would be too much for the Italian national team.
Ukraine will still have a chance to qualify for Euro 2024 through the knockout matches and today all the pairs of selection will be clear, and Italy will finally qualify directly and will defend the title at the Euros.

I agree that Italy needed access to the playoffs, and discussing refereeing mistakes after the match will not change anything. Although I am of the same opinion, there was an obvious penalty in that episode. The knockout matches are a chance, but this is another difficult stage to go through and we don’t know which opponent and which referee will be for Ukraine in the next match...
Apparently the referee also thought that if he gives a penalty and Ukraine wins, and Italy will not go further because of this, his career will be over, but in the case of a draw everyone will make noise and forget, because Ukraine will have a chance to qualify.

For UEFA apparently Italy's exit was crucial and they seem to be about it stated that if Italy does not get to the euro, it will be a disaster, so the national team of Ukraine I think in advance realized that now it will be very difficult for her to beat Italy.

Anyway, Italy has now qualified for the main tournament, and with 14 point Ukraine has a good chance of qualifying through the playoffs. It would have been a big upset if Italy had failed to qualify, because they are the defending champions. We need to note down the fighting performance from Ukraine. Despite being placed in a very tough group along with England and Italy, they almost managed to qualify through the direct route. BTW, did anyone watched the North Macedonia vs England match? England were held to 1-1 draw by North Macedonia.
