Spain appeared so consistent at Euro 2024, and in fact they always won all of those matches. What they play also looks nice to look at, and that is very different from what England showed. England's game looks very monotonous and boring. But strangely, even though they were in a critical situation, England always seemed to find a solution and win. So taking these factors into consideration, I feel England can make a surprise in the final.
Likewise, when facing the Netherlands, England gave a surprise. They scored goals at the game's end, which frustrated the opponents.
Spain is the favorite, but we can't ignore England who made it to the final round.
The final match will be exciting when both teams show their best game, not trying to play defensively. but we'll see the strategy of the two coaches in the final match. if both play openly, there is a possibility that both teams will score a goal. but if either shows a stronger defensive game, maybe the two will be even in normal time.

We are not talking about individual players, if you look at it from that perspective, of course there are more good players in the England team, but we are looking at the overall performance of the team, it is clear that Spain has been much better since the group stage, they are the most consistent team.
However, in the final anything is possible to happen, it is also a consideration that no team is overly favored.

Personally, I also hope that England will win, they have entered the final twice in a row, it would be quite a shame if they both lost.
Agree, even though we are all aware that Spain is the team with the greatest chance of winning, England, who we thought would fail early, actually qualified as the opponent that Spain will face. With what England has shown despite their lack of passion on the field, if in the final our view will change slightly by placing hope that England can win. Isn't it fun to see this team fight hard to beat Spain in the final.
Like it or not, we leave it to Southgate, our criticism of him may be different because there is no other choice if you want to see Spain lose, so Southgate must be fully supported.

In comparison, we favor the Spain team, but the England team is quite strong. And reaching the finals is a lot of hard work, so no team should be neglected. In the final games it is normal for any team to be aggressive at any time to win the cup, they are more likely to turn around.Harry Kane he respects his team enough so everyone is a hardworking player so based on his experience there is a possibility for England team to win.

Spain - England, let's see... Spain have reached this stage by winning all of their games. Only one of them went to extra time, that's all.

England's results aren't as impressive as that I'm afraid. Despite having the strongest squad in Euro 2024, they still had serious difficulties while reaching the final.

Spain are really good with having the control in hand in their games. Just like France, I think England are up next. Spain deserved the title the most so far. I would like to see them getting what they deserve at the end.  Smiley

It will be a good thing to see England fight and succeed where Germany and France failed to succeed. But I wonder if England will still be in this competition if they had faced the kind of Opponents that Spain had faced on their way to the final. I want England to be at their best so that the final won't be boring. I want them to be as hungry as Spain on that particular day. I don't want to see an England side that will sit deep in their own half waiting for a penalty shootout. I want to see the action we saw in the last world cup final between France and Argentina. Spain has been doing that since the beginning of this tournament but I can't say that about England. Hopefully their game tactics changes on the final day.

- 1.68 for Spain and 2.20 for England.
1.68 for Spain to be title holder is still a really good quote, considering how impressive Spain is playing so far. England will face an uphill battle against a more rested Spanish team because Spain already played one day sooner.
When it comes to evaluation what will be key in Sunday's match we can say for sure it is conquering balls: who will be able to conquer a ball and switch more quickly? Spain has better players like Olmo, William or Spanish Musiala, who are know to be good in dribbling and sprint as well as shots.

The odds for the match seem to me to be strangely distributed. Spain's odds are almost equal to a draw, showing that this match has the potential to end in a draw. Although Spain is better both in my eyes and in terms of odds, it should be said that Spain can also win this match after extra time. The 2 teams have both scored and conceded goals in the matches they played after the group stage. It seems likely that there will be a mutual goal in this match.

These are the odds for a win in regulation time; if we take the odds for the title holder, they look more reasonable - 1.68 for Spain and 2.20 for England. England are not so bad that the likelihood of them holding a draw is much worse than that of Spain winning in normal time, so in the end the quotes are fair. But of course I would rate Spain as the stronger favourite.

Regarding Harry Kane, it looks like a coincidence but it seems like this always happens. Even Tottenham, after being left by Kane, also experienced quite good improvements. They even competed for the title at one point last season, although they failed. And Kane went to Bayern Munich and after a long time Munich won the Bundesliga and the season Kane joined, the club ultimately failed to win the title for that season. And the England national team has entered the final twice and in the previous season this team failed. but it would be very interesting if at this Euro England managed to win. This will break everything people say about Kane. And in the end Kane will succeed in lifting the trophy for the first time in a major competition. But if I had to be honest with my own analysis then I would probably choose Spain. Because so far they have continued to show quality that is above other teams. It's just that I have a little doubt about the mentality of the young players there. where the sensation of pressure from the Final match will clearly be different. And this sometimes has an impact on young players who still lack experience.
It seems there is something like bad luck following Harry Kane. I was discussing football with a colleague this morning and I was trying to convince him that England have more experienced players to match the Spanish side that I felt had more younger and inexperienced players even though they are good at their job. He asked me to mention the supposed experienced players in England and I mention Walker, Harry Kane and he stopped me immediately saying that Harry Kane has never won anything serious in his football career. I was shocked as why such a high quality player will not have anything to his career as achievement. Seeing your comment now shows that there is some element of truth in my colleague's claim.

If Spain finally win this trophy, then I doubt Harry Kane will be able to change his ordeal because he has a golden opportunity to prove the world wrong in terms of him winning titles.

Like it or not, we leave it to Southgate, our criticism of him may be different because there is no other choice if you want to see Spain lose, so Southgate must be fully supported.
Southgate did not help England to play attacking attractive and convincingly but in results, he is maximizing it and will be considered as hero of the nation if England wins Euro 2024 this summer. It will be their biggest trophy after 6 decades that is a long waiting time enough to massively celebrate the trophy.

the main reason why England isn't scoring more goals during the game time is because harry Kane hasn't been at his best in this tournament
Generally this is because of England team, Kane's team mates, not only from Kane. His team mates did not create enough key passes to Harry Kane and when he is target of opponent's defenders, he struggled to find space and create opportunities by himself.

In some matches, we saw that both Saka, Foden, Jude did not give Kane enough support in attacking. He is not at his best form but with poor performances of other players, it's unfair to blame all reasons on Harry Kane.

Life, Love and Laughter...
I haven't been watching the Euros closely this year but just from first glance, I have a hunch that Portugal and England could make it far up to at least the semis...  Dunno but I feel like Gareth Southgate and Roberto Martinez are the lucky ones.  I fancy them to go to the final if their paths don't meet in the Round of 16, quarter finals or the semi finals.

And for the lulz, made a small net on a 4 leg parlay with England, France, Belgium and Portugal at 3.79.  Grin

England? That's laughable.

Uh...  Wut?  Told you they'll get far.  And it will be hilarious to see if England wins as there are lots of people hating on the English National team.  Now because of that, I hope they really win.  And make it via pens please...  Let the 16 year old Spanish kid choke under pressure.  Grin Grin

But yeah, I think it's gonna be 1 - 1 with the Spanish going all out offense and with England sitting deep and waiting for the counter.  Spain gets it 1 - 0 early in the second half but Bellingham gets one in at the 90th minute.  Book it.

*Nobody scores at the couple of extra times given*

The reason is that so far only Spain has made people so excited and because of that everyone wants them to win the Euros this year. Even though it was not easy with their current regeneration facing other strong teams, they managed to prove that they were the strongest until they reached the final round.

Almost all the records for being the youngest player have been won by Lamine Yamal and if he manages to win the Euros with Spain then this record will be very difficult for any player to break in a very long time.

On the other hand, I'm actually still curious about how England will stop Spain later and it's enough to make people wonder whether Southgate can change his tactics or just make people bored again. Cheesy
England's game was boring but this game brought them to the final round. Although many people think that every victory achieved by England was due to luck. but I think apart from luck of course they also have other things that other teams don't have. That is, they can play patiently and maintain their mentality until the final minutes of the match.
honestly, England games are far from being boring and it's not as though they aren't playing well as a team. The reason why most people don't fancy thier pattern of play and don't see it as a big deal even after they've reached the finals is that with all the squared they have, England is supposed to be the perfect team you can boldly stake games in their favour and relax with the certainty that the game will play as predicted but that's not fans see from them. I won't be supprised if they are able to win Spain in the finals cause if they put Thier minds into the game, they have all it takes to win this Euros. I mean, the yamal that's being hyped up and down in the Spain team isn't even better than Cole Palmer, foden or maino and with average player at the Spain side, you almost have a better player at the English side who is only underperforming and can pick form in the finals.

So many of the matches that England won were because of goals in the last minute or in the minute of added time. Because they never seem to let their guard down even when the match is almost over. This is the greater value of the English national team apart from the depth of their squad. As for Spain's advantages, I think we can all see them clearly. And yes, it is natural that the majority expect them to become champions. because they really have the appropriate quality of play if they have to win the Euros this time. but in the Finals even strong teams will be more careful and will not be as aggressive as usual. So the final match can sometimes be quite boring when all the teams decide to play carefully. but the final match could also be a very heated match if both teams decide to play attacking from the start.
the main reason why England isn't scoring more goals during the game time is because harry Kane hasn't been at his best in this tournament and it's the same thing that Portugal suffered in Thier teams while they allowed Ronaldo to play all the complete minutes even when he's underperforming.  If Southgate brings in an alternative player into the attack and don't keep harry Kane as almost a minus on the attack, England would have scored more goals by now. But then, it appears as through Southgate is a very stubborn coach who likes sticking to his tactics and fortunate for him he has made it to the finals and whatever comes out it wouldn't be looked at seriously since most persons are already expecting Spain to win. It's going to be a tough game but from what I'm seeing, it's likely an England trophy for the season.

I think Spain will win the cup, as many people think. Spain played very well in all the games, they were only lucky in the Germany game.

England always got this far with last minute goals and penalties.
I think Spain will finish this job in 90 minutes. Spain has very young and talented players.
Spain is almost everyone's focus right now Cheesy... they're the right man for the Job, they've played exceptionally throughout their games in the tournament.... if there aren't any fuckups on the Final then Spain should be able to do it without too much stress. I won't underestimate finals but Spain is gonna perform  better as they will also be putting in their max effort +their previous effrot just like England  so they have upper hand, however if they win then Lamine is bound to break more records.. what a Star
Everyone now focuses on Spain. They have young talents and qualified for the final. Lamine and Nico have gotten lots of attention from many football fans. They got it because of their amazing play. But England has Pickford and he's becoming the heartbreak kids of this tournament.
And Bellingham is ready to lift Euro 2024 trophy in front of spanish kids.  Cheesy

I quite understand you, but some people might think because there is this or that player in a team, the team will automatically have the upper hand, but it doesn't play out like that. There is a reason why they call it a team and each component of the team must be up to the task for the desired result to be achieved. Fine, good players are in the England team but I must say that the team has not been my favourite so far, their earlier performance was not encouraging. Reaching the final stage still baffles me because I never believed that England could get to the quarter-final not to mention beating Netherlands which seemed to be the better side in all angles before the match.

Can we call this luck? I don't think so, even if they are lucky at first, the match against the Netherlands is more serious than the previous ones they played and they dominated the field as a true contender. The two sides tried, especially with the defence but England was better and despite the Netherlands having the first goal opportunity at an earlier time, without too much time space, Kane delivered to prove they mean business. But for England to beat Spain will be so tough as Spain is a serious team that doesn't give room for any chances. Spain will highly likely win.

I think Spain may struggle to beat England through open play. This is because England has some great wing backs, like Kyle Walker, who will face Nico Williams. But, I'm not losing my hope to think Spain can take the euro 2024 trophy.
They are still performing consistently with their tictac strategy.

My prediction is, spain is gonna win the game with 2-1 as the final result.

My prediction is Spain winning 1-0 as England won't score, Spain has played better teams than England in this tournament. Germany were a better team and if Germany and England's were to meet, Germany would had won. England but they couldn't defeat Spain. France were also a better team than England therefore I don't see any possibilities of England winning. The bookies are going to give England better odds as an attraction but it'll be better we go with the safest option which is betting on Spain to win. Better you win something than losing your money as you wanted to get with an option that will give you more winning prize.
You don't say that you don't see any possibility of a team like England winning a final. That is a gross underrating. There's no club team or country team that will write off England in a final. Infact, England paraded the best squad to this Euro tournament.
They have
  • The best striker
  • The Best player in England
  • The best player in Spain
And many more stars. There's no doubt that Spain had played better in this whole competition but you don't have to downgrade England to the extent you have done.
Yea, it's actually true that it's definitely a wrong idea writing england off in this upcoming uefa euros finals, because if you pay close attention to this English team, they might not happen the best team work in terms of how they play, but they have the fighting spirit required to win any team in this competition.

Just take a look at this england side, they have always comes from a goal down to win, that shows that even though you score them first, you aren't sure of getting the winning because they have what it takes to claw back into the game and eventually win, so they aren't a small team .

Lastly, I see this game as a very interesting encounter not doubt even though I will give Spain the winning due to the team work they have in the way they play, but england is definitely going to give them a good fight.

I agree that in such a game all the little things will be important, but the Spanish national team also has players who can single-handedly decide the outcome of the game, such as Lamin Yamal and Dani Olmo, so here the positions of the teams are rather equal.
I think many people want Spain to win simply because they like the soccer they show and for many people a win for England would mean a win for boring soccer.
Plus there's the Kane factor. Many people really believe that this player brings bad luck and wherever he goes, those teams immediately stop winning trophies in national championships and cups.

Which team do you think will win in the final match? I took this poll from reddit, and the majority of football fans are now favouring Spain to win the final. Im feeling england is gonna give a fierce game to Spain, following their unexpected performance to qualify for the final.
I'm rooting for Spain to win the game soon, and I'm picking spain as my bet.
While many people are rooting for Spain to win the Euro finals, I am seriously predicting that England will lift the trophy. Although from the beginning of the competition till date, Spain has been the most consistent and committed team in the tournament with the likes of the exited Germany. But we need to understand that finals is more than the best team, very little things win finals which often come from the emotional angle. If you can agree with me, England had met and missed so many finals under Southgate, and I don't think they are willing to lose this one at this critical moment.

Besides, there are some exceptional players in England which can help the team by playing both defense and attack, such player as Bukayo Saka and the likes of Jude Bellingham who is eyeing Ballon d'Or will try everything in his powers to bring the trophy home for England. How about Harry Kane? We should be careful betting against England.
I agree that in such a game all the little things will be important, but the Spanish national team also has players who can single-handedly decide the outcome of the game, such as Lamin Yamal and Dani Olmo, so here the positions of the teams are rather equal.

It's true that we can't just look at it from the perspective of a player's individual performance. Because if you look at this, the English team should have been favorites even from the start of the Euro. but what we see from England is that they are not very good at building cooperation. Or it could be said that they do not have a suitable strategy for the team to take advantage of the depth advantage of their own squad. And their coach, Southgate, doesn't seem to be very good at utilizing the depth of the England squad, which is actually very promising. This is different from the depth of the Spanish squad, where the depth actually looks ordinary except for a few young players who are quite prominent there. It's just that their coach, Luis De Ia Fuente, can really utilize the depth of the Spanish squad well and create a very impressive strategy. What makes the young players there can even shine so brightly on the field, for example Lamine Yamal, who is now getting a lot of attention from everyone. It is very difficult to determine which team is superior. It's just that Spain's overall performance looks the best.

The odds I would give are 60% Spain winning and 40% England winning. Because until now I am still a little doubtful about Southgate in managing English players. Meanwhile, Spain can currently be said to have almost reached the peak of its best performance. The reason is, the Euro hosts (Germany) were also humiliated by Spain in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, previously many people said that Germany would definitely be able to win against Spain, because previously Germany had appeared very impressive. However, in reality Germany was also defeated by Spain, so it is not wrong if many people currently say that Spain will win. The reason is, Spain's current performance is very good.
However, it is true, England will definitely provide very fierce resistance, because in the final match the tension will definitely be very hot. However, in my opinion, so far England has not been able to unite the chemistry of its players as a whole.

Apart from that, the coach from Spain (Fuente) also seems to be very confident about the final match he will face. Because according to him Spain is better than England.

Quote
De La Fuente admitted that Spain has performed better so far at Euro 2024 than England. However, he said, this would not have an impact on the final match.
Source: https://www.cnnindonesia.com/olahraga/20240711172228-142-1120263/reaksi-pelatih-spanyol-harus-lawan-inggris-di-final-euro-2024

Even though Fuente said that this would not affect the final match, if you look at the words he said, it is very clear that he is very confident that Spain can beat England in the final match. So it is clear that with this, Spain is currently performing at its peak.
