Of course, the UEFA Euro is one of the most anticipated competitions, we will see European countries face each other to fight for the title. Italy and England will be the much-anticipated matches. They met in the top match at UEFA Euro 2020 and now they will meet in the qualifying round. This could be a revenge mission for the England national team to beat Italy after they had to lose in the final via a penalty shootout which at that time ended with a score of 3-2 for Italy's victory. In 2023 we will see European countries competing in this qualifying round.

We are missing the Italy team in the current FIFA world cup in Qatar. However, i would be eager to watch them play at the Euro next year.

Italy is in group C with strong teams like Ukraine and England. It would be too early to predict who will top this group but i am hoping to see Italy strong and good performance in the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024.

Since the German team has been eliminated from the Nations League, their schedule for the next two years will consist of friendly matches only. They have 10 planned for 2023, but we'll have to wait for more info on the opponents. Their next competitive match will be the Euro 24 opener on June 14th, 2024 in Munich.

Being automatically qualified for Euro 24 & having been eliminated from Nations League, #GER only have friendlies until summer 2024. 10 games are planned in 2023, opponents to be announced later. The next competitive game will be Euro 24 opener on 14 June 2024 in Munich [@kicker]

Not too much to worry about until then, just some friendly matches to look forward to. Honestly dunno if thats good or bad after the horrible performance in Qatar.  Cheesy

Reunion the final UEFA Euro 2020 between Italy vs England and England as the host had beaten by Italy, qualifier for UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany both national team have in the same group, actually is not matter trough Euro have adopted more than 24 countries participant, first and second standing finish automatically qualify to Euro 2024. No doubt with Ukraine I think England and Italy are favorite national team will lead this group as 1st and 2nd standing placed.

I don't see Russia national team are in the UEFA Euro 2024 group qualifier, seems still get suspend from UEFA can't participants after war conflict with Ukraine, little disappointed because Russia could be one strong national team in  UEFA Euro 2024.

Well the truth is that this is like more than what has been discussed in many threads, for me things should not be seen that way, on the contrary, it should be seen as a way to be able to give an opportunity to a nation that the players do not have It's the fault that its president has these intentions, for me sport is a class apart, there is no political classification or something that deserves it, for me things go away is for the sports side and I know that many users and fans see it that way, I will never defend war, because I don't like that, but in a war everything gets cloudy and that's the bad thing too, I think wars should never exist.

Well, one thing is for sure, not only Portugal but several teams must look for their replacement generation, for me one of them is the same son of CR7, which is something that is noticeable, since he asked him to hold on a little longer to see if I can play alongside him in the Portugal national team, it is something that they both bring, possibly they can make it a reality, as a fan, as a father, I would like to see that, I would like my son to follow in my footsteps and to be able to work with him too in the future.

This is something that perhaps every father would like to do, and fulfill, it would be a source of pride, and in football if it is possible and if the son meets expectations, why not?

I am bit confused here. Ronaldo's son was born in 2010 (I don't know any other details about him apart from his name: Cristiano Ronaldo Jr). By the time of 2024 Euro Cup, his son will be just 14 years old. How do you expect a 14-year old to play in the Portugal national team? Youngest ever player to represent Portugal at international level is José Gralha, who made his debut in 1921 at the age of 16 years. BTW, there are some viral videos in YouTube, showing Cristiano Jr scoring goals for his U-15 side.

Yes, it is curious, I read that in one of the stories that I saw in a document that appears on HBO +, and the son of CR7 appeared, although lately I have seen more information about it and apparently CR7 wants to retire from football at the At the age of 40, I think that if he does it at that age, he will be able to fulfill his son, because he could already be a youth player who, if he is very good, could be considered to play with the professional, well at least I have seen that in some leagues. Maybe with the influence of CR7 they will make it a reality, you never know, I think that at 16 they could make a possible exception, I don't know how things are in the laws of football, but I see it as possible.

Portuguese also that group is very easy for Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo will also be present just to get more international cap's what else, can he still score till then hehe. Spain has Norway they have good player's growing up fastly both Haaland and Arsenal Captain will do well to qualify. England and Italy has been sucked together since the last Euro's hosted by England

Cristiano Ronaldo is already 37 years old and he will be 38 in a few months. Personally I don't expect him to take part in Euro 2024. He may retire from international football after the FIFA World Cup of 2022 (although he may persist with club football for some more time). And that will put Portugal in a lot of trouble. Because at this point, Portugal is essentially a one-man army led by Ronaldo. Once he is retired, they will find themselves in trouble. Because none of the younger players (Pedro Neto, João Félix, Gonçalo Ramos, Rafael Leão, Diogo Jota.etc) are capable of filling the vacuum.

Ronaldo is currently not playing at all in his club, so it is possible that he will not even play at the World Cup, because the question is what condition he will be in and how ready he will be to play.
It is possible that the Portuguese coach will bring him into the game later, depending on the result of each game.
However, it is obvious to all objective observers that his time has passed and that he is living on his old glory.
I really don't think Portugal will be much weaker without Ronaldo, in fact I think they will do better because they will have a better balanced team, with players who all play both defense and attack and no one has special privileges in the team.

Well, I really don't think that CR7 will leave Portugal so quickly, he has a commitment to his son, who will be trying hard to be able to play with his dad, he is just asking him to hold on a little longer to make his dream come true It would be spectacular to see father and son in the same team, I think that if something like this happens, here CR7 shows that he is not only a good father, but that he can make any dream come true, just because of the force of will that has for his son CR7 will be able to hold his Euro and will also be able to play with his son, I think this would be something great and an example to the whole world.

His dominance in the Portugal team is very obvious and this should be the focus of the coach to be able to cover the gap when he is no longer playing.

There is an article here regarding the future of Portugal after the retirement of Ronaldo:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11312473/World-Cup-Portugal-cope-Cristiano-Ronaldo.html

Most of the people here won't be able to remember the time when he made his debut (2003, when he replaced Luis Figo for the match against Kazakhstan). He has been around for so long (2 decades), that we can't think about a Portugal squad without him. But ultimately Portugal need to find a replacement. Anyway, they have another 1.5 years or so, as Ronaldo has announced that he is intending to represent Portugal during Euro 2024.

it is good to have thread about Euro already, qualification groups are already in, and it will start soon
Serbia is in neighbor group with Hungary, Bulgaria and Montenegro, with an outlier from Lithuania

with Hungary recent form and play, they should be a main contender for top spot, but we are concentrated on WC first

Thanks for the new thread @cygan. Bookmarked it.

I'll definitely have to try to get tickets to some of the games. I had forgotten that the 2024 tournament takes place in Germany.

The games in the qualifiers look pretty interesting. Many attractive matches in the various groups. Especially group B with France and the Netherlands and group C with Italy and England should be interesting.

It's almost to be expected that one of the favorites will stumble again and not qualify for the tournament in Germany.  Cheesy

it looks like Group C will be more exciting to see Italy and England meet there even though I'm sure they will both qualify from Group C, but it's no less interesting to watch in Group B the French and Dutch matches are also interesting to watch, I think I will benefit if make a bet in this event

i'm also curious to see how the qualifying games will go and which nations will embarrass themselves or cause a surprise or the other
turkey should be glad that the faroe islands are not in the same group Grin

I think Turkey's group will still be a bit tough, with both Wales and Croatia being in the same group with them, but they look like earning the third spot should be an easy fit at the very least.

Most of the other groups looks like we can easily pick the two teams to qualify from them, but as you've stated we could be in for a couple of upsets, Spain on paper seems to have the easiest group, but I don't think Norway and Scotland will be pushovers.

France, Netherlands and Italy, England respective groups also contain some teams capable of causing troubles, I meant teams like North Macedonia, Ukraine and Greece.

to be honest, i see the highest probability for a surprise only in groups e, h and i.
there i can imagine that some nations could qualify for euro 2024 by finishing second in the table or would at least have the chance to qualify for germany in the play-offs as third.

Sure about Group E?

Poland and Czech Republic are almost certain to qualify, as the other three teams are not very strong contenders (Moldova, Faroe Islands and Albania). I am not forgetting the victory by Faroe Islands against Turkey. But we can't expect such a small nation to perform consistently against top UEFA teams (Faroe Islands is a country with total population of less than 50,000).

In Group H, Denmark and Finland may qualify. But Slovenia and Northern Ireland are also strong contenders. And finally for Group I,  the battle for second position is going to be triangular, between Romania, Israel and Kosovo.

So it should be in theory but Poland had a lot of difficulties to win against Albania in Albania in the world cup qualifiers and Albania was not in a good performance, now the players have really stepped up their game and maybe we can see some surprises in here.

Although I think it will be an easy group for Poland and Czech Republic as they are really much stronger than the other teams here but hey as you said Faroe Island won against Turkey so anything can happen as the ball is round as they say. Most probably this group is going to be an interesting one for the outsiders. The fact that two teams out of 5 qualifies makes it even harder for the teams.

Seems that Italy and England can't be separated Cheesy. It will be interesting to see their games again.
same, i would love to see it them face each other again, this creates more will to win between the two teams, i will try and predict from now that England will on top by the end of the group stage phase.
