The English coach has suffered from too much criticism and attacks by sports pundits and ex-footballers. Nobody expected the three loins to make it to the finals. But we saw how the team improved as the competition progressed. Gareth Southgate will remain the most successful English coach after taking them to two successive finals. He doesn't deserve to be sacked because many coaches have not even been able to make it to the quarter-finals of the competition. I think the English FA will not sack him, he would be allowed to keep improving the team.

Regarding the late introduction of Cole Palmer, I think it was a tactical strategy. Each time the Chelsea player is introduced with Ollie Watkins they end up getting a goal. You don't expect Southgate to keep Harry Kane on the bench, he is a player who has a lot of experience and should be respected. You will be surprised that Palmer would have been inactive if he had been played from the beginning. Kane will soon retire from international football and Cole Palmer's time will come. England has hired bigger coaches but none of them have achieved what Southgate has done with the team.
Yes I agree Gareth Southgate has been treated unfairly by football experts and former players. Even though England made it to finals which was surprise he has been criticized a lot. But we should remember that he has done something many coaches have not taken England to two finals in row. It would be unfair to sack him especially since team has improved under his leadership. Decision to bring Cole Palmer into game late was probably smart move since he and Ollie Watkins have worked well together before. Harry Kane is respected player with a lot of experience so it makes sense that Southgate would not bench him. When Kane retires from international football Cole Palmer will get his chance. Southgate has done more for England than many other coaches, and he deserves to keep leading the team. The English FA should keep him on.

We watched together but felt dissatisfied because England did not provide fierce resistance.
satisfied or not, that's what can be seen in the English team's game. Observers have indeed not favored the English team in several previous matches. but they made it to the final I think it was an extraordinary surprise. We all saw that match, where Spain played better. they get wins and trophies. They deserved this, without underestimating the England team who had fought until the final round. remember they achieved it also not because of luck. we can't blame anyone, just enjoy the game and bet.

Let's remember that in football it's not who deserves it, it's who scores the goals who wins, that's enough, for me England did well, it was one of the teams that also made things very difficult for Spain, of course Holland and England were very unlucky to be eliminated in the end, for me Spain has very good players and partly they had luck, and that's something that can't be denied, for me things always happen for a reason, and this time life, luck and everything favored Spain, of course that's not free, for me Spain showed from the beginning that it is a great team and that it was a potential finalist, and so it was.

Don't expect England to equalize Spain's game they are always inconsistent, it's just that the pressure from Spain is better while England is locked in their game, I feel Southgate did not drop some players if only 3 were replaced it would not be enough to change the game.

Southgate doesn't understand what he's doing, that's the reason England can be beaten by Spain even just in regular time. Cole Palmer, who had a good performance was put on the bench, and then given the opportunity to play in the 70th minute, it didn't take long for him to immediately score a goal for England.

I think it's enough for the FA to give Southgate a chance, he has been disappointing in 2 EURO finals. It would be better if the FA hired a manager who had more experience managing a big team like England.

There is such a thing as the Kane Curse, it is very sad, but it is one of the footballers who have the biggest problems in becoming champions. He took part in many final matches, came very close to many championships, but could not manage to win the cup. This is more than just bad luck, this is one of the worst experiences among football players. From now on, I will have faith that the opposing team will win the final matches he plays Cheesy
The failure after failure experienced by Harry Kane in winning the Trophy has now given rise to the term "Harry Kane Curse". It's a shame that a great striker like Harry Kane has never tasted the sweetness of lifting a trophy. Obviously this doesn't make sense, in terms of ability he is a complete package striker, but every time the team he plays for always fails to win a trophy.

Previously, Bayern Munich failed to maintain its dominance after being strengthened by Harry Kane, and now, the England national team has had to reap the failure to win a trophy after being defeated by Spain, in the previous final match they were also defeated by Italy. In fact, England really wanted to win the Euros for the first time, but their dreams were always dashed. Is the failure in the last two final matches related to the "Harry Kane Curse" or is it really not the time for England to win the Euro?
It's really up to 58 years since England won a trophy for themselves. You can see that, it's not just Kane who is cursing about this. The England droughts have existed long enough before Kane's birth. Kane is just been unlucky for any trophy won with England yet. A change of England coach can help him achieve that since Southgate is shown the way out as England's coach. Who knows, he can win a trophy with Bayern Munich before the end of two seasons

For the record, England is among the national teams with longer droughts (without a trophy won).

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.
This was a predictable final as Spain were the favorites from the start as well as the 1X2 bet with normal time the excitement came when Oyarzabal scored in the 86th minute to seal the win for Spain.

The final euro match between Spain and England was predictable as you rightly said. Apart from the pool from people, the bookmakers also made the odds to favor Spain knowing too well they are the better team right from the beginning of the tournament.

Although I was one of the few people who believed that England could pull a surprise and beat Spain. I heard that believe because England had missed so many finals and Southgate himself many trophies he lost in finals. I was thinking it was the right time for England to right the wrong, but things didn't work as I wished.

Spain's players performed well throughout the match. Basically the match was dominated by the players of Spain. Almost every player in Spain has performed well in his position. Especially Williams and Yamal Spain's two young players performed well in this match.

Apart from Yamal and Williams, Spain's two defenders Laporte and Cucurella also performed well in this match. These two defenders caused England to miss scoring opportunities despite several strong attacks. However, Spain's players performed well throughout the match. And they are a worthy team to be Euro champions.
Yes that's right. Overall, from the group phase to the final, Spain deserved to be champions. Because they played very well, attractively and dominantly throughout the Euro Cup competition. Actually they don't have players who are too dominant, but they play very solidly and the coach is very good at using the existing players, especially young players like Yamal and Williams.

You could say that Spain today is very different from Spain when it won the Euros and World Cup several years ago. The Spanish squad is currently filled with players from various clubs, not just Real Madrid or Barcelona but this is truly Spain which has a very different feel with interesting and entertaining games. So they deserved to win the Euros.

For England, they were not able to take advantage of the momentum well. Even though Palmer's goal could have been momentum for England to get up and score the next goal. However, England often made mistakes in passing and lost duels in the midfield. Another mistake was that Foden was only replaced in the 88th minute, he should have been replaced earlier. England's failure seems to confirm that Harry Kane's curse continues.

Yesterday, Spain defeated England to win the UEFA Euros Championship while Argentina defeated Colombia in the final of the Copa America to clinch the trophy which means that Spain and Argentina are going to meet each in the Finalissima. It's a dream come through for Spain's young winger Lamine Yamal who had a very impressive performance in the European championship. Lamine Yamal who was once bathed by Lionel Messi when he was few months old will have the opportunity to play against his football idol. Whoever wins that game and trophy I don't think will mean much to Lamine Yamal because his most important interest is to play against and that dream have finally come to pass for the talented footballer.

Lamine Yamal really showed an impressive performance throughout the UEFA EURO 2024 and that earned him the best young player award as he is just 17 years of age and it will be a pleasure for the young talented Spanish footballer to meet and play in same space with Lionel Messi in the Finalissima since Argentina won the Copa America and Spain won the UEFA EURO competition.

Lamine Yamal looks very promising and hardworking and if he continues in this awesome performance then he's gonna do exploits at Barcelona just like Lionel Messi did. But he should not allow any form of distraction to come his way now that he is getting in the limelight of international football. Lionel Messi also started doing great jobs at a very young age and he continued and experienced huge success in his football career so if Lamine Yamal should be more focused and determined to improve his career and take it to greater heights.

Hopefully this is Southgate last Euro, because it's time for England to try another coach and all the England staff have to be replaced. Southgate was so tactically poor that the luxury players had to bow in the final. Cole Palmer goal was in vain, Southgate should have included him as a starter. Palmer had too little playing time to maximize his time. Overall I and several other gamblers didn't seem surprised when betting on Spain winning early on. We watched together but felt dissatisfied because England did not provide fierce resistance.

Yeah maybe that's a fact, we all saw this match and Spain dominated from all sides even though we know England has a good squad but unable to compete with Spain. Southgate prefers Harry Kane as the main player in the lineup and this strategy has been successful in the last few matches, but Southgate forgot that this was the final match and their opponents already know how to anticipate Harry Kane in the defensive area so he couldn't move any further.

On the other hand, Spain played well and they have a great mentality. We know that before reaching the final, Spain had beaten several strong teams so that when they faced England in the final they had no problems, overall Spain should be appreciated for their consistent performance throughout the tournament.
Spain deserve this title for their performance even since the beginning of the tournament, winning against the bigger teams. I think Southgate should be dropped as the England coach it would have better if he had at least starts with Watkins especially after his late minutes goal Netherlands that took them to the final, I wonder what Southgate was thinking putting him in the later on, definitely Spain would not give him that same opportunity he got against Netherlands, this is the final the Spain already thought of a neutralizing effect on this before the game.
Kane continues with the curse of being trophyless, sigh.

N.Williams was the man of the match. While there was no goal in the first half of the match, Spain took the lead with Williams' goal at the beginning of the second half, which put England under stress. In the 73rd minute, England managed to equalize the situation after Palmer's goal and could not prevent Oyarzabal's goal just before the end of the match. Spain's squad may be relatively strong. However, Argentina's match strategy and players' bonding is very strong. So I don't think Argentina will lose against Spain. The match between Spain and Argentina will surely be very competitive.
Surly the match between Spain and Argentina will be very competitive, with both teams looking so strong in terms of tactics stance, squad etc. Some people are just thinking about that Argentina has a good player so they will be the winners. It's true that they have good players in their squads, but you have to know that Spain also has good players in their squads. Besides that both teams have played the final and won it but you need to understand that Argentina beat a minor team like Colombia. While on the other side Spain defeated a big team, i.e., England. So using this point as evidence I can confidently say that the match will be very competitive because both sides have good players as well as experience in the final. Because both are champions of their own league, i.e Spain has become the champion of the Euro Cup and Argentina has become the champion of the Copa America.

But anyway let's see what happens next in the final and who will be the winner
Argentina or Espana
I would go for Spain because in every aspect, they are looking strong.

That game will take place in 2025 so it isn't that close. Both Messi and Yamal will resume playing in their leagues along with the other players before facing each others. There will be international games in between.
It will be an interesting match between the two nations which are the best in the world right now with the failure of France and especially Brazil.

Big congrats to Spain on their win!  Wink  It is totally deserved undoubtedly. Spain didn't have the best squad combination in the competition in fact. But their system was running like clockwork. They were the best looking team.

Kane is a really unlucky player. Once again he lost a chance to lift a trophy. I didn't understand why Southgate subbed him off that early also by the way. It is actually hard to understand so many things about Southgate, anyway.  Grin

The Guardian has written like the FA's next target should be to bring Jürgen Klopp for the job. However this doesn't sound realistic considering he is on a career break now. There are still other candidates out there who would be much more suitable than Southgate.

It's beginning to seem like Harry Kane is been cursed as the most unluckiest player in football history. It will be heartbreaking for him to process each he remembers that, playing in different league finals, with no victory achieved.

Kane's mentality was really tested in this case because indeed as he got older and with the large collection of awards he got individually in the end was not able to boost a single trophy overall. Although Bayern previously won when Kane only arrived a few weeks from Tottenham but I don't think that was the achievement of the results he had so this is clearly an unfortunate for a player like Kane.

It cannot be denied that indeed he is one of the very good players even he is one of the most dominant English strikers in scoring goals but in the end until now he remains a king without a crown.
But indeed hope still exists and although he always gets a series of failures but for next season he is still playing and he must prove for the competition at the club he must be able to remove the title of king without this crown at least he must be able to lift the trophy in the Bundesliga.

You are so funny  Smiley. Quite right Harry Kane is a good player that help is team to succeed in many games but when it comes to final it seems so difficult for him to win, I first noticed that when he came to Bayern Munich and played his first final game with them many were saying that Bayern Munich will lose the game which I was surprised to hear that because Bayern Munich was not bad in performance then and I was anticipating for more goals because of the the presence of the Harry Kane on how he scored goals, but to my greatest surprise they failed to win the Cup and again in Euro final they failed, but still I don't believe it's a curse, it just matter of time he will win a trophy in his football career.

I don't believe there's any curse or whatever when it comes to Harry Kane and trophies. I think he's just unlucky. Bayern were already not in great form going into the cup final against Leipzig. Harry Kane or not Bayern would have lost that final. As for the Spurs, I doubt they would have even made it as far as the UCL final if Kane hadn't been there. He was their best player that season. He and Lucas Morra.
Remember when Messi was losing final after final with Argentina, people said he was cursed and all, but he has won 3 consecutive finals with his country. If normal for a player to be so unlucky every now and then, but I know he'll win trophies with Bayern. He's a good player and that wouldn't be taken from him, his mistake is staying at Tottenham for so long, he should have left after the season they got to the UCL final.

Oh god just let it make it to page 400 and let's forget about this!!!
The football was good but it was probably my worst choice in putting bets, I simply couldn't with the basics and stick to the favorites, I just had to improvise every single time and have a near miss in the best case or a full 0 out of 5 for the day. As much as it was bad for me I think it came worse for the bookies too, there were no real major surprises really, a few draws, maybe Italy out but looking at the ods the market got the thing pretty good.

So let's be done with it and talk about 2028!

There are many countries that will want to forget this tournament, there are those who will immediately forget it with their failures and wait for the next one. It was a memorable tournament for Spain in a good way and for England in a bad way. I think England will never win this trophy. Spain will continue to break records. They have a very good new generation and there is no limit to what they can do.
In terms of football, a lot of the games were not as expected, but some of the games were very good. I think overall it was a Euro that won't be remembered too much. From the very beginning of the tournament it was more or less clear that Spain would win. I wish we could have seen more goals in the tournament.

Whether or not it was a surprise that they made it to the final is something that can be debated. The reason is that in terms of the composition of the players they have, they actually have a very good squad, in every position they are occupied by well-known players whose names we are familiar with. However, they only lost in terms of the game they were able to show so far.
As a squad I say they deserve to be in the final, but game-wise there are other teams who are better than them. But unfortunately the team that had a better game had to fall first. For example, Germany, they had to meet Spain so they had to be eliminated, even though in my opinion Germany could have been a team that deserved to be in the final if they weren't so quick to face Spain. Even comparing England with teams that are considered mediocre, I don't think their game is any better.
I have to agree with what you said, in terms of game Germany or France are better than England. Spain was actually not the team most favored to win the trophy at first, but slowly they managed to impress, eliminating other strong candidates such as Germany and France. In fact, England does have better squad depth, but Gareth Southgate strategy is considered ineffective in reducing Spain's aggressive play. In my opinion, Gareth Southgate must update his strategy in the future, if he still retains his position. Spain managed to win the Euro trophy for the 4th time in history, and they really deserved it.
Spain won the trophy not only because they were the better side than England but because they came fully prepared and wasn't in any kind of presure in that game, yes they weren't the best team at the beginning when you compare the other teams that went home, But the Spainsh team was able to scale through due to their experiences in playing such competition, and this way they were able to manage and won these big teams Germany, France and England they met which any of this teams has the capacity to have won them.

I am now only waiting for Finalissima. Euro champions Spain will play against Copa champions Argentina. Undoubtedly, the match will be very competitive.

The chemistry between Spain's players is excellent, as well as the team's match strategy. On the other hand, Argentina's team bonding is also very strong. We have seen strong and composed performances from Argentina's players in every match of the Copa America. Colombia's players attacked a lot in the final. But Argentina was tactful. Although Argentina's players attacked less, each of their attacks was strong. However, the Yamal vs Messi match will undoubtedly be very competitive.
Are you really interested in this moronic, unclear on what grounds, created “tournament” consisting of one game?  Wink
I would love to see a serious game between Spain and Argentina, but it will be an ordinary friendly game.
By the way, it’s funny to compare the teams’ path to this match:
Spain defeated: Italy, Croatia, Albania, Georgia, Germany, France, England.
Argentina: Canada (twice), Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia
