Lionel Scaloni is an ordinary manager, doesn't have great experience but was able to bring Argentina to victory in 2 Copa America & 1 WC competitions. So did he become a great manager after that? I don't think so, it all helps because of the good composition & depth of the team from Argentina. I see the same thing with Southgate, wouldn't the English FA want to try another manager to see how the England national team would perform if it came from another manager?
You summed it just fine except you left out one crucial thing and that is;
England haven’t got no Lionel Messi, yeah you heard that right. With Messi on the pitch for Argentina, you’re sure his there to make a lot of difference. His contributions in goals and assist did help the team greatly although, the Copa America wasn’t won in the regular time with Messi being substituted, his influence through the game and how he inspired his team mates to play is evident in the performance.

For England, well it’s just stars everywhere you turn, all lacking any major international trophy and are very hungry for that but, they just didn’t show it on the pitch. They let their scare activate safe mode for them and that’s how you trash it. They completely trashed a good chance, especially after Cole Palmer have them that glimpse of home.

Spain played very well and in my opinion, Spain totally deserves to win.

Spain conquered so many balls, also very quick, had more dangerous shots and demanded Pickford very often by trying to score.
England tried to maintain a good game but against a very offesive Spanish team, England was not successful and was defeated finally.
No title for England is not a surprise because Englang has been unsuccesful for a very long time.

It's beginning to seem like Harry Kane is been cursed as the most unluckiest player in football history. It will be heartbreaking for him to process each he remembers that, playing in different league finals, with no victory achieved.

For England's loss match to Spain, Southgate is to blame for it because he had many useful players on the bench that would have won the Euro trophy for England.
Whether it's a curse or not, in essence what happened to Hary Kane in his football career makes no sense. The reason is that until now he has never won a championship title in any competition, either with a club or the English national team. Even though he has a very good performance and can be said to be one of the very good players. Apart from that, in the England national team or at his current club (Bayern Munich), Harry Kane has really great teammates. So Hary Kane should be able to win the title more easily with these supporting factors. But strangely, Harry Kane always fails to win trophies. Apart from that, an even more surprising fact is that Hary Kane rarely scores goals when competing in finals (with the English national team or his club). Even in this Euro final, Hary Kane did not score a goal against Spain. I also feel quite strange about this, because Hary Kane should be able to score goals. The reason is, when the group stage reached the semifinals, Hary Kane was always able to score goals. Maybe in essence, Hary Kane was just unlucky.

And regarding England's defeat, Southgate cannot be entirely blamed. However, Southgate has not been able to rotate English players optimally. Because for example Cole Palmer. If Southgate had included Cole Palmer as a starter, maybe the story would be a little different. The reason is, with Cole Palmer's input in the second half, not long after he was able to score the equalizer for England. So I have an assumption, if only Cole Palmer had been introduced by Southgate from the start of the first half, perhaps England would have had a greater chance of winning the match.

I would be very surprised if England won this cup. In my opinion, it was not England's right. Spain reached the final by eliminating France and Germany. England, on the other hand, had played against easier teams. Spain got the championship it deserved. England, on the other hand, showed that high transfer fees are of no use in the football world and that the team that plays team games wins. England's players are among the most expensive in the world in every field, but they keep losing in the finals.
Actually, I didn't want to mention it, but you're absolutely right. We really shouldn't underestimate the national team, but here, if we look at the performance and strength of each team, Spain is really in a more difficult match compared to England. Yes, Spain's opponents can be said to be the top team and many are even favorites to win. In essence, when the final took place, it was no surprise that Spain dominated the match more than England. However, that doesn't mean England played badly, no. England have also played their best, but Spain was much better.

And before the final, Spain also played more aggressively compared to England. This can be seen from the statistics below:

William Saliba who was not expecting a first team place in the team had a stellar performance for France, If Rodri had not been exceptional too as well in this tournament, Ngolo Kante is another player who deserves to be there on this team of the tournament. Cucurella who was also criticized as the weakest link in the Spain team silenced his critics and made the assist that won Spain the trophy. He deserve a position in this team because he also made many important interceptions.

To also see that the attacking line is dominated by young players not more than 22 years of age is remarkable considering this competition had attackers like Cristaino Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, Mbappe, Harry Kane etc, who have more experience.

Those guys are the main players to make the list, in as much as we saw Walker struggling in the finals he still did his best considering his age. Rodri has been the pillar of the Spanish side in that competition and he has been doing well right from City till this tournament. Cucurella on the other hand did his best and nobody thought he'd be the one to give that assist and I know him to be that weak in terms of crossing from the left flank but that assist changed everything and the boos he got throughout the tournament never weigh him down, I just hope he continues with his current form because Chelsea need him to be at his best.
It is funny not to have those names on the list, they all did pretty bad in the tournament talking about Mbappe, Lukaku Harry Kane and the rest of them and have a list of young players leading the attacking line is a sign that the young generation have hope to make a difference in the world of football, I hope all these won't end at the Euros, they should continue to push harder to start up something different and it shouldn't always be about Messi and Ronaldo on the lips of football lovers.

The English coach has suffered from too much criticism and attacks by sports pundits and ex-footballers. Nobody expected the three loins to make it to the finals. But we saw how the team improved as the competition progressed. Gareth Southgate will remain the most successful English coach after taking them to two successive finals. He doesn't deserve to be sacked because many coaches have not even been able to make it to the quarter-finals of the competition. I think the English FA will not sack him, he would be allowed to keep improving the team.

Regarding the due diligence, I think you have to agree with me that the performance of the French national team is better than the English national team, and we should have seen the France - Spain match in the Final, but unfortunately France & Spain had to be in the same bracket.

If you look at the results achieved during the two teams' journey to the final, of course Spain is more worthy of winning the trophy. Spain always achieves positive results and gets rid of strong teams in the knock-out round. Spain success in getting rid of Germany can predict that they will win this tournament. And yes, they managed to finish the last match without having to go through extra time.

In fact, England has the same opportunity as Spain, but they have not succeeded in balancing Spain's strength even though they are strengthened by several players who have no experience at international level. England who have so many star players in their squad, have still not managed to win the Euros for the first time, it seems like luck is not on their side because in the previous final they also lost to Italy.

Both Musiala and Akanji didn't deserve, I would say Gakpo and Pepe are better than them.

Gakpo perform really well despite his performance in Liverpool wasn't that good while Pepe can still play for full time despite he's 41 years old and he's the second highest rank player in Portugal.

The six Spanish players deserve to get that, especially Cucurella, he's a trash in Chelsea, but unexpectedly can perform really good when he play for Spain.

It was quite disappointing and sad to see England losing the trophy to Spain in the Euro finals as I had always enjoyed watching the English Premier League over the years. But I guess Spain are truly the dominant team this time as they had beaten 3 of the best European national football teams in the world which are Germany, France and England to claim the trophy.
It was really painful because a European Nations Cup trophy would have brought so much joy to a country who have experienced a trophyless run for many decades. Spain was actually the favorite in the finals but the equalizer by Cole Palmer gave England hope that they could win the game. England would have to wait for the World Cup or another four years for the EUROs for them to break the jinx.

There are so many players that I would have wanted to make this team. But I must confess that the players in this squad deserve to be there. However,  Spanish players dominated the team not because they were better but because they were given preference since they won the trophy. Players like Kobbie Mainoo, Bukayo Saka, Marc Guehi, and Cole Palmer deserve to be on the list but they were unlucky not to win the cup.

It could also have been Ferdi Kadıoğlu, the left back of our Turkish national team, who had a very good tournament as a left back and was very successful in statistics. I think he was one of the two best left backs, along with Cucurella. We may not have had a very successful tournament, but he was the best name in our team. By the way, every player in this first 11 deserved it. It should be a matter of pride for the Spanish that Yamal, who turned 17 during the tournament, was in the best 11.

England have the potential to win the Euros as Spain do. If England had won Euro 2024 instead of Spain, there would have been no surprise. As a matter of fact, those who can play well on the field and perform brilliantly are the ones who ultimately win the match. As the players of the Spain team did against the England team. Spain's trump card was Young emerging players Lamine Yamal. He has been a mystery boy in this year's Euro Cup mainly because of his impeccable performances, Spain have managed to do the impossible.

Let us not forget that England team tried well to win the final even they scored a goal but in the end Spain won the match 2-1 and took the title. The team performance of Spain team in this year's Euro Cup was very good which led them to success.

This was a predictable final as Spain were the favorites from the start as well as the 1X2 bet with normal time the excitement came when Oyarzabal scored in the 86th minute to seal the win for Spain.

Don't expect England to equalize Spain's game they are always inconsistent, it's just that the pressure from Spain is better while England is locked in their game, I feel Southgate did not drop some players if only 3 were replaced it would not be enough to change the game.

England had good chances to score more goals, but they were unlucky... Of course Spain looked stronger and they probably really deserved this win, but I wouldn't say it was easy for them... England had just as many good chances, but they couldn't realise them... The second goal in the last minutes for Spain was decisive...

Do you really mean that England was just unlucky? No, I really don't think so, it was a well deserved winning from the Spanish team, because they were more tactically and technically sound than the English team, though the English side gave them a good fight no doubt, but the Spanish team was the better side overall.

And as for the English coach, Garry Southgate, I think he was the primary reason the English team lost this particular game, am saying so because the likes harry Kane and phill foden aren't doing anything in the field of play, before this game, folden has played six matches already without an assist and a goal, instead of the coach Garry Southgate replacing him with cole palmer, he left him on the bench for too long, and that applies to harry Kane also, he was practically ineffective all through, I believe that Watkins and cole palmer would have done more better than harry Kane and phill foden if they have started,  and that is what cost them dearly in this past finals.

No, I don't think England were just unlucky, but it was a difficult game for both teams... Both teams had chances to score more goals, but Spain were able to realise those chances... The same can be said about the way England and Spain played throughout the Euro... Spain had great results and I had no doubts that they would play in the final... England did much worse and they were lucky to be in the final... I thought it would be someone else instead of England...

1. Graham Potter, people are really familiar with his Potter Ball.
2. Pochettino, dis dude is also possible replace South Gate.
Aren't these two coaches currently FREE? But I'm not sure these two coaches will be the choice for the FA to make the England coach.

3. Howe, though he is still Newcastle's coach, but he may be available if england approach him to be a new coach. I see him as an average coach, nothing special about Howe.
There was news that he would soon be fired from Newcastle but now he is still retained, maybe he will continue to handle his club now.

4. Jurgen Klopp, although he said no to coaching the USMNT, but Klopp may be changing his mind about this.
Klopp has been linked with a lot of news recently, just don't think he'll take his own word for a long break, maybe he'll get an offer but he'll turn it down.

5. Pep Guardiola, i still remember when he said, he was keen on coaching the national team. So, that's probably England's chance to appoint him as a new coach.
In the end, i still prefer for England to take Guardiola because of his achievements in the football club. I think no one doubts him this time. He's one of the best managers ever. And I'm sure England can get their golden era under Pep Guardiola.
But Manchester City won't let Pep Guardiola go especially with a long contract.

For me it still won't be easy for England to get Pep Guardiola.

EDITS: GARETH SOUTHGATE RESIGNS AS ENGLAND COACH.

Finally!  Grin  But I still appreciate him on his decision. I see an honoured man there after that move. He didn't even want to wait for the FA to make their final decision on him. I'm not blaming Southgate mainly as a result.

The FA is who I'm blaming the most. Why did they waited this long?  Huh  Even after another disappointing result in Euro 2024, they didn't take immediate action. Do they really think of the future of their national team?

6 Spanish players in the team of the tournament, nice!  Smiley  Not surprising though. It is good to see Yamal - Williams duo there. Because I haven't seen any better winger than these two during the competition.

Only Walker is there from the England squad despite qualifying for the final... People must have questioned once again how in the hell this team reached the final.  Grin

Spain defeated England to win the trophy. With this squad and with this fight, Spain really deserved to win the trophy this season. In the final match, we can say that they played a good game against England, again showing their difference and superiority. There were some unfortunate moments in the game. Especially Olmo's ball from the line in the last seconds was one of the most important moments of the game.

Spain deserved to win this tournament according to their performance since the beginning of the competition. Spain did not lose or draw any of their games from the start, proving that they had the strength to win the trophy, however, there is a difference between England and Spain. At the start of the tournament, I started doubting England because they only won one of their group stage games, I was surprised they made it to the final, I expected them to lose against Switzerland who performed much better.

I blamed the England coach for their failure, I don't know why he chose Foden to start in that game when his performance was so poor, he could have started the match with Palmer, Palmer has been in better form than Foden in this tournament, and he equalized just three minutes after he was brought in. However, many people believe that England failure to win the title was due to Harry Kane's bad luck. It was sad that he had never won a trophy in his career.

I think the English FA will not sack him, he would be allowed to keep improving the team.

Regarding the late introduction of Cole Palmer, I think it was a tactical strategy. Each time the Chelsea player is introduced with Ollie Watkins they end up getting a goal. You don't expect Southgate to keep Harry Kane on the bench, he is a player who has a lot of experience and should be respected. You will be surprised that Palmer would have been inactive if he had been played from the beginning. Kane will soon retire from international football and Cole Palmer's time will come. England has hired bigger coaches but none of them have achieved what Southgate has done with the team.

If you ask me, I'd say the opposite, because most of what fans and non fans must have said are positive criticisms. He's one of the managers being backed by his ex-teammates from both countryside and clubside. I never did, I underestimated him so much, but when you take a good look, you would see a tactically lacking coach who parked the bus all the time and also most of the wins they had all came from the fighting spirit of the players.

Can I relate this with Erik Ten Hag?
Is this your definition of being successful? Jesus Christ! ( If this was to be Erik Ten Hag, we should have seen one or two top journalist writing misinformed information about him )
Erik Ten Hag won two finals in two seasons, not just that, took Manchester United to three finals in two seasons and they all called for him to be sacked.  He is not good for England honestly, he has done his best for them and I don't see that to be successful.

They didn't sack him, he must have resigned all by himself. Goodluck to him with the next phase of his life. The substitute shouldn't have been Kane out for Palmer in, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Saka, one of them should have been brought out much earlier but he hesitated.

Big congrats to Spain on their win!  Wink  It is totally deserved undoubtedly. Spain didn't have the best squad combination in the competition in fact. But their system was running like clockwork. They were the best looking team.

Kane is a really unlucky player. Once again he lost a chance to lift a trophy. I didn't understand why Southgate subbed him off that early also by the way. It is actually hard to understand so many things about Southgate, anyway.  Grin

The Guardian has written like the FA's next target should be to bring Jürgen Klopp for the job. However this doesn't sound realistic considering he is on a career break now. There are still other candidates out there who would be much more suitable than Southgate.

Congratulations to Spain are in order, they played the European Championship very well, I would say the only team to play practically impeccably.  Their ball possession and their way of dribbling obviously means a lot of good technique and also means knowing how to play.  I can't stand people who make long passes just because they don't know how to make short passes.

The team of tournaments for the Euro has been released and looking at some of the players who are chosen as the team of this tournament seems to be quite reasonable where the average is a player from Spain who is the champion at the euro this time.

It's just that what concerns me is how only Kyle is indeed a representative of England, even though seeing from the condition of the team we should know that they have players who are indeed very good but this is the impact of a performance that is not too good in terms of Southgate's attack scheme because after all even though this depends on the player but I will still blame Southgate's carea in managing star players even though some of them have extraordinary potential.
