As I said before, it makes sense that it would be Ukraine 2 - 1 Iceland or Ukraine 1 - 1 Iceland and go to ET & penalties. It's a shame that with such good performance conditions and great players Ukraine couldn't make it at least 2 goals difference in this match. In another match Greece lost to Georgia, this is history for Georgia, I don't remember the last time I saw Georgia at a EURO event, is this their first EURO competition?

For the Wales - Poland match, I don't want to talk about that, my bet lost because Wales couldn't take advantage of their situation playing at Cardiff City Stadium. It was also a dramatic penalty round, the first 9 scored but not for the 10th kicker.

To tell the truth it really didn't matter to me which side to qualify in the Georgia v Greece match. Because it was like the most boring match of the night you know. At least the penalties were exciting to watch.  

Wales v Poland was also like a copy of that match but Poland made it just as I expected. I expected Lewandowski to make difference. He couldn't score in regular time maybe but he still scored the penalty and did his job. We don't watch the same Wales since Gareth Bale retired but they still did their best here.

I wonder how many more times Ukraine will win like this.    They once again won by a comeback. These 2 comebacks carried them to Euro 2024. Let's see if they can promote from a group with Romania, Belgium and Slovakia.

Georgia is a stubborn team and for Greece, it's as if they didn't come with their full playing skills because since this international break started I've not seen much of them and I was a bit surprised Georgia didn't make quick work of them.
The game was considerably tough and at some point you'd think Greece will get a goal as despite that it was just two out of the twelve goal attempts that was on goal, they kept on poaching. Well, at the end of the day it is who qualifies to the next round that is considered the winner and not the one who had their complete men or who poached more. Good job to coach Sagnol and his men for doing a fantastic job even with ten men.

Georgia played with a full squad because a red card was shown to the substitute goalkeeper. In any case, it was Greece's own fault for not being able to win in regulation time and in general, both teams had only one shot on goal in 90 minutes, but in extra time there were a lot of sharp moments, which neither team was able to realize. This is a great success for Georgia and now there will probably be a big celebration in the country after such an event.

The Welsh team is also not a weak team, so here it is just logical that with Poland they went to penalties, although I thought that Wales is still stronger than Poland and will be able to beat it in regular time.

Wales and Poland is 0-0 on the main. I saw quite a boring match, Poland quite controlled the match but no goals were scored because the game between was not that offensive, Lewandowski can't convert into goals, so with this result they need to fix how a central midfielder can supply the ball on the front well. So after extra time, and penalty, Poland finally won the match with 4-5 penalty.

As a Greek I was watching the Georgia - Greece match and so many times Greek players wasted good chances. Greece had over 60% ball possession for most of the match and perhaps that got a little too much into the players' head. Surely Georgian players were playing in many international leagues and had experience, but Greek players only taking chances with headers instead of more conventional passes and shots for a goal made me kinda angry at times.

Georgia played very impressive and strategic defense though. All players and coaches from both sides did well to maintain a conservative play style and counter their opponent. To be honest I'm not even that disappointed Greece didn't manage to advance further. Now they're placed in a group with Turkey and Czechia. If they keep playing that well they're gonna do well for sure in my opinion.

As of our neighboring country Albania, I don't know if we have any Albanian here... But their country got for sure the hardest group. I'd wish them luck but that alone won't do, they need a miracle to win against Italy, Croatia and Spain.

Wales - Poland game is over and Poland advances to the next round. I knew Poland was the favorite, but I didn't think it would go to penalties.

Georgia surprised me, they played with 10 men in the second half and took the game to penalties, qualifying for the next round in penalties.
It really needs to be congratulated.

Neither me expected such result!
Since Greece weren't able to score a goal and win in the legal time then playing penalties will never be an easy task.. The worst part is that Georgia were playing with 10 players.. Congratulations to them.
Ukraine and Poland qualification was expected even though Poland had to go throug penalties for it

Finally the last 3 tickets for Euro 2024 have been filled that Georgia, Ukraine and Wales will playing at group stages later and seems not easy for Georgia and Poland to win the matches because they have to playing until penalty shootout especially Georgia that playing as underdog team against Greece they were under pressure because Greece has displayed attacking strategy since early match but until normal time ended Georgia can able to managed their defense and to determine the winner of the match penalty shootout is taken and Georgia can beat Greece with final score 4-2

Congratulations for Georgia finally they can able to playing at big tournament indeed Georgia current squad probably can be considers as golden generation because at that team there are some players who playing at popular clubs in Europa such as Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, Giorgi Chakvetadze from Watford and Georgia key player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia which we all know currently he is Napoli player and looking forward to see how far they can go at Euro 2024

I wanted Greece to go through. My choice had nothing to do with their football quality, it was simply because I have a Greek friend who would have a bad week if Greece didn't go through and I'd hate to see him like that.
Too bad Greece is out. I haven't even summoned enough courage to call him and know how he's doing 🤣


Ukraine seem like a team that know what they're doing.
Despite conceding first and having a goal ruled out by VAR in the first half, they came back in the second half and won the game. They were all round the better team against Iceland, the same way they were the better team against Bosnian.


Few minutes left to play in extra time and it's still a goalless draw. The game would most likely head into penalties. I love watching penalties but in this, case where I favor Poland, it would be difficult for me. I hope Poland goes through.

Edit: And Poland are in the Euros. At least one game went in my favor tonight.

Ukraine goes to EURO. This game wasn't easier than against Bosnia, Ukraine conceded first, but in general they played better. Congratulations to Ukraine.
Wales - Poland goes to extra time, kinda expected such scenario.
Congratulations to Georgia. Seems that it's already tradition that in every EURO we have at least one team which debut in toyrnament. Georgia now have great generation of players, though today's game was difficult to watch. And that huge pitch invasion after final whistle shows how much this win means for Georgia.

Ukraine's victory makes perfect sense if I look at their game.
Being left behind by 1 goal did not make the Ukrainian players give up on these conditions. In the 54th minute, Ukraine equalized the score at 1-1. The equalizing goal continued to make Ukraine's enthusiasm for playing at EURO even higher. Mudryk provided an incredible comeback for Ukraine that made the entire Ukrainian people cheer happily at his goal while hoping it would last.

Congratulations also to Georgia who won on penalties.

Now we are waiting for another team that is still trying, Wales vs Poland.

I really do appreciate it, I just hated to watch it.
It is one of the biggest miracles in football, but there was a lot of thought and strategy behind it.

They had their moments of luck (Czech Republic should have destroyed them in that semi), but overall they deserved their title. Not by playing great football of course, but by consistently following a strictly defined gameplan and by using all of their chances to the fullest.

So I guess you are one of those who doesn't appreciate their 2004 euro win?  Call me weird, but for whatever reason I always liked their national team and the fact that they managed to achieve something like that with their very limited team.


I am a big fan of that team, but I think that you are exaggarating a little bit when it comes to their qualities, especially for the last two names. 

Either way, Greece is out and Georgia is in.

What they should have scored and taken the lead at the start of the match turned out to be that they were 1 goal behind Iceland. Who knows what Serhiy Rebrov was thinking, he preferred Roman Yaremchuk to Artem Dovbyk in the starting line up, creating chaos in the first half at the moment.

1 goal behind currently creates a -1.5 handicap for bettors who pick Ukraine in desperation, no Ukraine 3 - 1 Iceland here in the end, the most sensible outcome might be Ukraine 2 - 1 Iceland or Ukraine 1 - 1 Iceland and on to ET or penalty.

Twenty years after Euro 2004, but Greece still plays with the same tactics. Socrates might have played football with the same tactics in the streets of Athens 2500 years ago.😅 In fact, it is a reasonably good tactic for them, but there is a big difference between the squad of 20 years ago and the squad of today. I immediately thought of Karagounis. He is one of the talents that world football has been missing for a long time. We should not forget star players like Giannakopoulos and Charisteas. I sometimes compare Greece and Turkiye with each other. Sometimes these two countries have a golden generation and come to the stage of world football, but sometimes they get such results because their talent pool is narrow.

 The last thing I expected was that Georgia would be able to beat Greece, at some point the game became cautious, because everyone understood the cost of a mistake, and when it came to penalties, luck played a role. Of the current matches, I doubted the victory of Greece the least, and in the remaining two matches the winner is not clear to me, I assume that Wales and Ukraine will qualify for the final part of the Euro.

Georgia - Greece

thank you today's game is not going well for georgia who had the misfortune of seeing one of their players receive a red card and it made georgia's situation a lot more complicated as at the moment the game still remains without a goal, but the funniest thing is that georgia's player Georgia received a red card in the 1 half but even so Greece has not been able to score a goal, even playing against only 10 players from Georgia it is still very difficult for Greece to score a goal, I see that this game will drag on until to penalties and honestly it will be a huge disappointment if the game goes to penalties and Greece loses the game. and it is doubtful that the players from Georgia will celebrate a lot for managing to win the game even with 10 players in the 1 half

Wales - Poland

This is a game in which Wales is being seen as the favorite by the bookmakers and in my opinion that makes perfect sense, although it is not a huge favoritism, Wales are still the favorites in this game. Poland despite having a good player, the rest of the squad seems to me to be very weak which hasn't helped much, so in this game I see that both teams have the same chances of winning, this is another one of those games that is very complicated to predict who will be the winner, Poland can be inconsistent when they want, I've bet on them in the past and in a game where they played against a very weak team that even I thought there was no chance of them losing, but they managed to surprise me negatively when they lost . After that I avoided betting on Poland and I will continue to avoid

Ukraine - Iceland

Ukraine is without a doubt a team that is surprising me a lot, even with so many problems that their country faces, which has harmed their local league, yet the Ukrainian national team continues to play well and in this game Ukraine is being seen as the favorite team to win, although I also agree with Ukraine's favoritism, I still see this odds in favor of Ukraine as being a very low odds, their opponent is not a very weak opponent to be underestimated, in my opinion Ukraine they must be very careful with the opponent and they must fight to score goals early and then focus on defense to win this game

I hope Georgia goes through, seeing just 10 minutes of today's game brings back some horrible memories of Greek football.

Georgia has never qualified to a big championship before, right? One more reason to root for them in the penalty shootout.
I really love Kvaratskhelia as a player - hope he leaves Napoli this season.

Tell me that you haven't see many Greece game withiout telling me that you haven't seen many Greece games.  

I would like to see Greece going to Euro, but not sure if they deserve it since Georgia has been playing with 10 players the whole 2nd half and they didn't manage to do much. Then again, few minutes ago they hit the bar so they were kinda unlucky.  But yeah, most likely we gonna see penalties here.
