Even so, in fact last season Roma also entered the play off round and were able to show an impressive performance, no one thought that Roma could reach the final round and fight with Sevilla even though he failed to win the trophy. But with that I can conclude that Roma is still given the opportunity to achieve results satisfying this season.
Roma's chances of qualifying for the playoffs are quite big. I think Rome's current situation will be better. The most important thing is that Mourinho must maintain the player's performance and also the player's mentality before the Europa League match starts.
it's still quite a while, Mourinho will focus on Serie A and the Italian Cup I'm sure. Mourinho has good experience for the Europa League, I'm sure he won't miss this opportunity.
It's true that Mourinho will definitely not waste the opportunity they have in the Europa League this season. Last season they failed in the final and maybe this season will also be a tougher challenge because Liverpool is there. But I'm sure Roma have higher motivation in the Europa League. But this time Roma must focus more on their domestic league because there is still a lot of time to prepare for the European League. And the opponents that Roma will face in the Europa League in the play-offs will not be that difficult for Roma. Roma is still superior in performance to Feyenoord. So surely Roma will be able to get through this stage.

The first leg will be played at Feyenoord home ground where this match will make it quite difficult for Roma to beat Fayenoord at their home ground. Feyenoord is indeed a great team but they are often inconsistent in important matches for them so they have not performed well enough in the Champions League this season. But they join the European league, I'm sure they will take advantage of this opportunity to qualify for the round of 16.

Roma was a strong team in the European league last season but this season they are not too strong in the European league. So this match will be quite a difficult obstacle for Roma to beat Feyenoord. I think Mourinho can expect a lot from Lukaku and Dybala to perform better because this will determine their chances of advancing to the next round.
Maybe this first leg will make things difficult for Roma because they have to compete away, like last season Roma were beaten by Feyenoord in an away match, if in the end Roma loses in the first leg, maybe in the second leg Roma can avenge that defeat, but I hope Jose Mourinho can beat Feyenoord to be able to qualify for the round of 16 either in the first leg or in the 2nd leg, because I want to see Roma do something like last season competing fiercely in the European league. Until they reach the final round and fighting as hard as they can to win the European league trophy.

Even so, in fact last season Roma also entered the play off round and were able to show an impressive performance, no one thought that Roma could reach the final round and fight with Sevilla even though he failed to win the trophy. Feyenoord was not an equal opponent compared to the roma. Roma was able beating napoli and it's enough in proving the capability of roma to beat its opponent. Im thinking that if roma needs to prepare everything. Jose needs to make sure roma can get the trophy after it was losing in the final against sevilla last season. Having lukaku was obviously boosting the performance from roma. I prefer to see that lukaku to play together with dybala. Another obstacle will come soon. Feyenoord needs to make sure it has defensive line especially about how to block lukaku's movement as this guy posses a threat for feyenoord. My intention was to highlight Lukaku's skill in retaining possession of the ball for an extended duration, giving his teammates ample time to find advantageous positions.
That's why a counter attack from roma needs to be considered as a very serious threat for feyenoord. It's feyenoord's most important task to know whether its defensive line was able to preventing him to give assist for his teammate.
Roma beats Napoli it's not guaranteed for them to have better performance against Feyenoord because currently they are also doing impressive work into their league and in last Champions League matches they beat Lazio at home and have tough match against Atlético Madrid which mean things can take change even Roma is superior due to having experienced coach and good squad, but we can expect good performance from Feyenoord as they are also looking for the better results in Europa League after having exit from the Champions League and their team is well-prepared for the next season as well with their good performance in Dutch league.

Difference of leagues surely have impact, but sometimes we can have surprises as well which is the beauty of this soccer game in UEFA on papers Roma is very strong and competitive for this match but on ground, we have to check them how they play against them and have good results in both matches for the qualification into next round.

Everyone knows Mourinho and his dedication to targets. I agree with you that this match has a 50:50 chance but with Mourinho as coach it seems I will choose Roma who will be able to win the match and advance to the next round. Currently Roma is not performing well in Serie A but I think Feyenoord is not an opponent that should be compared to the top teams in the Serie A standings.
Anyone was picking roma to win the game but it's quite hard to predict the result from this game. Have you remember about praga? I think that anyone was putting it as non favorite club to win the group stage but roma was not placing at the first spot.
It means the any weak team can be a strong team when it was in a critical condition. Roma needs to prepare everything to make sure it can win the game against praha. I must admit that if roma is quite strong by having lukaku but it was not enough.
Roma needs to build a better chemistry between any players in the club. This to make sure that roma will not be missing opportunity to go to the next stage. There will be enough time for roma to intensively training as a part of preparation to face feyenoord.

Leverkusen, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Roma are my favorite teams to win the Europa League this season.

QQ: How is Barcelona among your favorite Europa league team when they're through to the UCL round of 16?

He may be forgetting it. It seems like that he thinks barcelona goes down and it was not qualified for the round of 16. This is something normal when someone was forgetting it. It's human error.
I may replace it with acmilan to win the europa league this season but who knows if some clubs like galatasaray can give us another surprise to reach the final of europa league this season.

Well these are the two consistent teams in the UEL and I think injury will be the only thing to stand against any of this team this season. It’ll really pretty to see a final where they both battle it out. Well Leverkusen plays better no doubt but Liverpool have the experience and all to win the trophy but would Leverkusen let it slip a 2nd time.

Leverkusen enjoys their play and build progressively from the back but Liverpool prefers to get the ball straight to the attack from the flanks.Well if Leverkusen gets the UEL and Bundesliga then I think Xabi will go down as their coach of all time and that’ll be a great thing, but definitely there's a possibility of them losing him if that happens cause I'm pretty sure, other top clubs would come running after him an offer he can't reject, especially Real Madrid that's in search of a good replacement for Ancelotti when he leaves their team.
Yes, injuries will always be problem for football team, but there are also some teams that, when key player is injured, can still play well and maintain the quality of play like perfect squad.
It just that it very rare and so far the only team that has experienced problems with injured players but still performed very well is Real Madrid, no other team can have stability like Real Madrid.
For the European League and Bundesliga, Leverkusen is the only team that is able to perform as well as Real Madrid and of course Leverkusen will always be able to apply pressure which makes it difficult for Liverpool to continue their struggle until the final.

Xabi Alonso makes the best use of the players Leverkusen has and that is why every Leverkusen game can always produce truly great resistance and defense.
Seeing how the two teams will meet when they meet, it is very likely that every Liverpool player will have difficulty breaking through the Leverkusen defense and of course the Liverpool defense players will have difficulty blocking the Leverkusen players attacks.
It great how Leverkusen have progressed over time for this season.

Roma has not being performing really good enough this season and I think they are not capable of winning either of both leagues trophy in which they are participating this season. Roma as coached by Mourinho is really having a hard time winning the Europa league title and sadly this season doesn't look as one where they can get a chance at the title.

There are quite a good number of good teas who have gotten pass the group stage and are very much ready to win the trophy more than Roma appear to. The likes of Liverpool and Leverkusen and now AC Milan has joined from the champions league so the Europa is more competitive than it was last season and if they couldn't win the trophy last season with less competition I doubt they will be able to win now with a higher competition., Roma needs some more improvement if they must be able to win the Europa this season.
The challenges faced by the team under Mourinho have been seemed like a formidable task, especially given the increased competition this season. Stronger teams entering the Europa League from the Champions League makes it harder for Roma. The heightened competition certainly makes the path to the trophy more challenging compared to the previous season. The fact that Roma struggled to secure the title in a less competitive field last season raises legitimate concerns about their chances this time around.

But I think Mourinho's managerial acumen will be a different factor, because he is trophies enthusiast that makes Roma might enhance their competitive edge. Mourinho is a factor to see how Roma navigates the challenges and whether they can make the necessary improvements to compete at the highest level. Fans will be keenly watching to see if Mourinho can overcome the obstacles and potentially win the Europa League trophy.

The Feyenoord team cannot be considered weak. This team is in very good form this season. The team is performing very well in the Eredivise league. Although they are not at the top of the table, the performance of Feyenoord's players is quite good. They can score a lot of goals at the same time. Roma team is unlikely to win easily against Feyenoord. Feyenoord will try their best to win. Feyenoord have no chance of winning the Eredivise League title. So they will try to do well in the Europa League. Mourinho is an experienced coach. Roma squad players are also in very good rhythm. But it will be difficult for them to win against Feyenoord. The performance of Roma players is erratic. Mourinho must come up with his masterplan.
Yes, Feyenoord played quite well in the domestic league this season. They are in the second place, they may have the chance to compete for Eredivisie title although it seems not a really big chance. However, in UCL competition, Feyenoord got unsatisfactory results. They only won 2 matches, but they got 4 loses. If we consider their performance in UCL, they seems rather weak. But if we analyze their performance in domestic matches, they look quite strong. Well, it is also not so different with AS Roma. As Roma also played not very convincingly in UEL, they are just a runner-up. People expected Roma will be the leader of group G because there are many weak teams there. In fact, AS Roma already got 1 draw and 1 lose during the group stage matches.

I agree that it is not set in stone that playing home in the second game is an advantage. It could also be subjective perception, but I sometimes think that playing the second game at home could psychologically be advantageous. However, if a team plays first at home and wins that game, it could be an advantage as well when the team can then play patiently, waiting for counter attacks away from home and knowing that a draw would be enough isn't bad either.
In my personal opinion, playing the second game at home isn't an advantage and especially when the hosting team had conceded a goal away already or lost the game away so definitely a draw isn't going to do them any good, they at that point not only needed to win, but to win with a good margin to be able to get ahead of their opposition.

It's even better the first game is played at your home and if you win you stand at the best advantage you can think of at that time because you wouldn't have to struggle away and like you rightly stated even a draw will be fine and so their struggle at this point reduce and the hosting team is now more at battle because even psychologically they will be under pressure to making sure not to concede a goal and also not to loose so the pressure is high when you are hosting the second game than when you host the first, you only become relaxed hosting the second only if you won the first with a good margin.

Maybe it all depends on the circumstances. I know it wasn't in the Europa League, but in the Champions League: do you remember the game when Liverpool was 0-3 down against Barcelona after the first leg? Can you imagine that Liverpool would have turned it around ever, if they played the second game away from home? I can't. I think this unbelievable event was only possible because the Reds had the full force of their fans supporting them at Anfield Road. Without the fans and the explosive atmosphere that miracle would have never been possible. That is why I think it can be an advantage to play the second game at home.
That totally depends on the mentality from the club. When you were losing a lot of margins in the first leg then your mentality will be also getting very big burden. This makes you can't think properly about the way to beat your opponent and doing comeback.
It was happening to the a few club but mostly of teams that lost huge margins in the european competition were always unable to make its comeback in the second leg. This is why winning the first leg with huge margins would be putting more confidence rather than the second leg.

What you said that above was happening with liverpool but you forgot that if mostly cases the team that won in the first leg with huge margins were getting more advantage compared to the team that was getting home as the second game.
It's caused by when you lost in the first leg then the pressure is also giving you more burden and this means your chance to qualify became even smaler and your shoulder has lot of hope to make it happen.
All possibilities can happen but sometimes we shall use our sense to aware with the chance owned by club to qualify when it was losing away with huge margins in the first leg.

Leverkusen, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Roma are my favorite teams to win the Europa League this season.

Leverkusen is a force to be reckoned with. They're having one of the best seasons yet and their coach is a Liverpool fan and I'm hoping he won't give yus a big upset. Klopp is yet to win the Europa league and this 2023/2024 Europa league present an awesome opportunity to do so nut I respect other teams like Roma even though they lost the 2022/2023 Europa League title to Sevilla.

I don't think Feyenoord are that low, otherwise they really don't deserve to be in the Europa League this season. Feyenoord is a real threat to Roma this season in the Europa League, so no one should underestimate them even though Roma and their big names deserve to be favorites. Roma is inconsistent in its performance even though Mourinho is the coach, but Roma has a good chance of qualifying for the next round even though Feyenoord is the second best team in the Eredivisie this season.
I am not seeing Fetenoord as an obstacle to Roma even though Roma is not also good enough to win the Europa League this season because of the big teams that happens to in the Europa League this season.

The two teams domestic leagues have different stages and qualities. Seria A is better than the Eredivisie league because only PSV and Feyenoord are the big teams in the League, while Seria A have so many big teams to be scared of that’s why Roma is in the sixth place in the League.

Quote
In my opinion, Leverkusen is one of the favorites for the title this season in the European League apart from Liverpool. Roma are runners up who will try to do everything to win the title, but Milan also does not deserve to be ignored this season after failing in the Champions League.

We agree with what you said, that Rome currently only bears its big name. honestly, I don't mean to underestimate Jose Mourinho. but based on his background, also the system he sets in away matches. especially in cup competitions, his habitual patterns are never separated from the system he has always relied on. well, I think these two teams are quite unique in the way they are reunited. last season, Roma lost when they visited Feyenoord's headquarters even with a narrow score. then, won the match with a landslide result when playing as the home team. well, we can guess that in the first meeting in the playoffs, Jose Mourinho will likely have a pattern with a defensive system. and unfortunately, this is what makes it difficult for Roma to perform well in their domestic competitions.

Meanwhile for the Feyenoord squad, this team always carries an offensive system under the guidance of Arne Slot. this was interesting, so I decided to try looking at the odds options that the bookmaker provided. even though it is only temporary, at least the betting bookies provide an idea of the current performance of the two teams. by playing at their own base, Arne Slot's squad is superior. interesting isn't it, so this match at least gives us an idea. in other words, Feyenoord has a chance to overthrow Roma at De Kuip, Feyenoord's home ground. what's certain is that we'll just have to wait before this match takes place. as for the other teams you mentioned, especially Leverkusen and Liverpool. of course, they have a high probability of competing for this championship trophy. the problem is whether these two teams will divide their focus or prioritize their position in their domestic league.

Mourinho has been trying to win the Europa League title for the last few seasons. The Roma team performed well in the Europa League but they could not win the championship in the end. However, the Roma team played quite well throughout the season. In this season too, Roma's goal is to win the Europa League title. Because Roma do not have the potential and ability to win the Serie A title. Roma are favorites against Feyenoord. But Feyenoord is not a weak team. If Roma players make any mistake in this match they are likely to lose.

I agree with you, Roma can definitely qualify for the next round and Feyenoord are on a different level, we know Feyenoord has just been eliminated from the champions league but that doesn't mean they are at a better level because the quality of each league is definitely different Dutch League vs Italian League. Oh yes, this season the competition in the European league seems tougher than last season because I saw several strong teams there like West Ham or Liverpool from the premier league and Leverkusen from the Bundesliga,

Don't worry. Feyenoord was a garbage team in UCL. It was always losing without even winning a game in the group stage of UCL. That's why feyenoord has dropped to the europa league this season which has proven the quality of feyenoord.
It was getting a little luck caused by it earns more point to finish at the third place then go back to the europa league again. Feyenoord is a weak team and it is not equal to the roma.

Roma is going to win the game with huge margins. Logically, if feyenoord was a strong team then it should be qualified for the top 16 of UCL but it's fail. Im not seeing feyenoord as a threat for roma.
Lukaku is going to score against feyenoord soon but we are still far away from the UCL. Having mou in roma like the club has insurance to win the match against feyenoord. Feye was not more than a mediocre team for roma.

Mou will once again prove himself as a world class manager that can bring cheap squad owned by roma to the final of europa league again soon. This time is kinda different compared to the last season.
Feyenoord has been pretty bad this season, they’ve managed to win matches in the league but the UCL which seems bigger than them, they faltered. Now they head to the Europa League since they managed to finish 3rd in the group. Now they face a Roma side who’s been mid this season yet still better than Feyenoord because when you compare both teams strength you see Roma team has a better quality and would sure go through to the Round of 16 in the UEL.

José Mourinho is one expert of European competition and he’s not going to go easy on this Feyenoord team and especially Lukaku if he regains full form by then, I see him being the highlight of the match, this will be an easy one for Roma, and I believe they'll go very far in the competition just like they did the previous season, they may probably reach the semi's or hopefully the finals.

I have no doubts about Jose Mourinho's quality and his dedication. Every team he coaches definitely has its own targets, especially this season, even though it's not very good in Serie A, I think the Europa League is Mourinho's goal at the moment.

On the other hand, Jose Mourinho is known to be good at dealing with pressure at the highest level, he is also good at putting mental pressure on his rivals. I am sure this match will be fierce, because this match is also an event for revenge. The reason is that Feyenoord of course wants revenge against As Roma after they lost in the UECL final several years ago.

Currently Roma is not performing well in Serie A but I think Feyenoord is not an opponent that should be compared to the top teams in the Serie A standings.

In my opinion, Leverkusen is one of the favorites for the title this season in the European League apart from Liverpool. Roma are runners up who will try to do everything to win the title, but Milan also does not deserve to be ignored this season after failing in the Champions League.
In as much as I would want Jose Mourinho's AS Roma to beat Dutch club Feyenoord and progress to to the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League competition, I'll want to be more logical than emotional in my preview of the that all important tie. Let's talk about the performance of both clubs in their respective domestic leagues and draw our honest opinion about the two teams. AS Roma have played the same number of 18 league games with Feyenoord but the point difference between both teams is significant. While Feyenoord who are the second placed team in the Dutch league have been able to garner 38 points in 18 league games, their Italian counterparts are have only been able to get just 28 points and are currently sitting in the 7th position of the league table.

Though statistics sometimes doesn't work determine the result of important games like this, I think it somehow goes a long way to explain how good the both teams have been since the start of the season. Jose Mourinho will surely come up with his tactical experience, but I expect them to have a very difficult game against Feyenoord.
