I can say that Sevilla is the king of the UEFA European League. They have won seven trophies in the UEFA European League. They are always favorites to win and they often advance to the final round. It's just that this year I feel Liverpool is a strong candidate to win this championship. Sevilla's chances of qualifying from group B are a little difficult because they are currently in 3rd place in the standings.
I don't think this season Sevilla will be having such opportunity again as against they caliber of teams that are participating in the Europa this season, they have the like of Liverpool, Leverkusen and the rest all in their good forms so history will take a different shape this time.

Sevilla may try to get pass the group stage but I don't see them getting to the finals to compete for the league title, especially with the fact that klop wants to make sure he seize this opportunity before him as it appears as one he could utilize, he is not participating in the UCL this season so he has got enough time to work towards getting this dream of his come through as it's one trophy he is yet to lift while in Liverpool so I don't think he will leave a chance to Sevilla this season maybe Sevilla can continue the history by next season.

Away games always make a huge difference and that applies to games in the Europa League and Champions League much more than it does to games in the respective national leagues. The fan support of the home teams is overwhelmingly stronger because of all the travel aches and strains, depending on how far the fans would have to go of course. I also think that the quota for tickets available to international fans is relatively low? I could be wrong on this one, but I think for games in the domestic leagues the quota for the opponent's fans is higher than it is for games in the Europa League.

If we only look at the tables, one could think that the game against Ajax should be an easy one for Brighton, but I am far from thinking that way. It is still Ajax Amsterdam in their own stadium and that always means hard work to do for any opponent.
Of course, matches at home will be superior in facing every difficult match, whether in the domestic league, European league or Champions League, but matches at home are not a benchmark if you don't have a strong and capable squad depth. We all know that the Premier League is a collection of clubs. which is quite difficult to beat, indeed this match is very meaningful for Ajax, but if you look at it in terms of performance, I think Brighton performance is much better when compared to Ajax in terms of squad, although Ajax will play at home, but that wasn't enough for him to win against Brighton but it is possible that Ajax will maximize the draw.

But look, does it really make sense to compare performances of two teams across different leagues? What does it tell you when hypothetically PSV Eindhoven faces Manchester City next week? PSV Eindhoven has a perfect 10/10 games and wins record and scores 3.5 goals per game while conceding 0.5 goals per game. Manchester City's record is worse than that by far, so is the conclusion that PSV would beat Manchester City?

Also, the Europa League is neither the Eredivisie nor the Premier League. It could be observed many times now that teams did play weak in the league and strong in the Europa League in this example.

This brings me to a nice offer: is anyone willing to take a little bet against me for 20 USD that Brighton will not win the game? I say Brighton won't win. Smiley

It seems so. Sevilla has the same plan like last season, they stay in 3rd place and return to play in the Europa League. That's right. In the Europa league they have a good performance, their historical record is not doubt at all, if they can get another trophy that would be a truly extraordinary achievement. But maybe Sevilla plan will not be that smooth, because this season we see that Liverpool, Leverkusen and Roma which are will not let Sevilla win the title again. But yes, Sevilla is likely to perform very well in this event rather than play in UCL.

The opportunity to participate in the Europa League is significantly greater when compared to the chances of qualifying for the UCL knock out stage, but it is not an impossible feat given that Sevilla has remained undefeated in this group so far. There are still some matches remaining at this moment. I think that sevilla will able to make it soon.
The king of europa league is trying its luck to play in the UCL to get some money. The club is really need money at this moment and no reason for sevilla to go back to the europa league agani after it was winning its trophy last season.

I don't know why many people are feeling so happy if sevilla goes back again to the europa league. Is not it bad for other club who played in europa league? Sevilla needs to give chance to the other club to win europa league.

Sevilla are currently in the third position of the group B in the UEFA Champions League competition and are currently three points behind second placed Lens. They play their next game at home to PSV which I think they stand a better chance of winning the game to still maintain the third place position. Sevilla's overall performance this season has been below average and that's why I don't think they'll do well if they happen to progress to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League competition.
So if they can hang on and finish in the third place which automatically qualifies them to the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League , there's every possiblity of the the competition which they're are the most successful club in.

It seems difficult, but don't you consider that Sevilla still has a chance to qualify for the round of 16 this season?
Sevilla are kings in the Europa League, of course because they always win the title every time they reach the final. It's almost the same as Real Madrid in the Champions League final, when they get to the final then they will most likely win it.
It doesn't seem like it because group B which has big chance of getting into the top 16 is Arsenal and Lens.
Sevilla will have difficulty catching up with the two teams so they will only be eliminated and enter the Europa League.
Yes, Sevilla is the king of the Europa League with the most titles namely 7 titles.

Quote
Liverpool are one of the favorites in the Europa League this season, but Roma, Atalanta and Leverkusen also seem to have a good chance. Several teams that will fall out of the Champions League can also be favourites, especially Sevilla, Manchester United, Newcastle or Dortmund if they fail.
All the teams that can't last longer in the UCL are definitely favorites here and they will always dominate the League more easily.
I don't think Sevilla will get the Europa League title this season and there will be other teams that will always put Sevilla under pressure, now the changes in each team look quite significant.

Sevilla is in third place in Group B in the Champions League with 2 points even though they still have 3 matches left. Maybe Sevilla will no longer be serious there and try to stay in 3rd place so they can go down to the Europa League.
Liverpool are not too worried about the opponents they will face, including Sevilla. Sevilla's strength is not as good as Liverpool and Bayern Leverkusen at the moment.
Talking about Sevilla as if they will easily win the Europa League again if they fail to qualify from the group in the Champions League.

Already I know that's the game plan of sevilla since they know that they perform better in the Europa league so they would rather prefer to go and play in the Europa league, they are always good whenever they are in the Europa league than champions league and I believe if they move to the Europa league they are really gonna do well so instead of reaching the round of 16 in champions league and not moving further they had rather be in Europa where they are conversant with and play to the best of their ability.

Liverpool indeed belong to the Champions League normally. But their performance in the Premier League wasn't impressive last season. It was quite late when they started to make improvement and they ended up with the Europa League afterwards. Currently they are in good shape unlike that season.
Last season, they suffered injury problems at the beginning of the season, and selling some players also affected their performance because the players they bought to replace the ones that left did not quickly adapt to the Premier League that was why they were flopping at the beginning of the last season, but when they get themselves at the end, they perform well and secure a spot in the Europa League.

Quote
Their priority would be to be competitive for the Premier League title of course. However I still don't expect them to have any concentration issues in the Europa League either.

They have a good opportunity ahead to win a title so I think they would go for it. Klopp would do some rotation from time to time to deal with a tight schedule but they would still stay strong I believe.
It is unlikely that Liverpool will win the Premier League this season. I am not underestimating them, but Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham are on fire, and they have more quality players than Liverpool; I know they can win it because they have experience, but Arsenal has been another dimension team since last season and will be willing to win the league, and Tottenham under the new manager this season has been very impressive and will also want to win something for the team, as will the defending champions Manchester City, who have always thinned the squad.

At the group stage, Liverpool and Laverkusen are two teams that really deserve to be favorites, their performance is also very consistent in their respective leagues. Maybe the list of favorite clubs will increase when the teams that failed from the UCL will enter the Europa League, and if Sevilla plays here then I think they also really deserve to be favorites.

Sevilla had the same scenario, failing to finish in the top zone in La Liga, but Sevilla was able to win the Europa League title. But, if that scenario happens again this season, I personally believe Sevilla will also fall and will not succeed as before . Therefore, I personally don't care what kind of team will go down to the Europa League because only finishing in the Champions League group stage. Because I sure, that Bayer Leverkusen and also Liverpool have very good quality and chances to continue to advance to the final match of the Europa League this season, because they deserve it.

I think Brighton performance is much better when compared to Ajax in terms of squad, although Ajax will play at home, but that wasn't enough for him to win against Brighton but it is possible that Ajax will maximize the draw.
Yes, you are right, sometimes as a home team it doesn't really matter when there is quite a big difference between the two teams in terms of strength and performance in that season, and as you said, there is a big difference in terms of performance between Ajax and Brighton, so it looks like Brighton won't face any problems when against Ajax and the betting market predicts the same thing by placing the away team as favorites to win the match in the middle of next week.
However, sometimes there are still doubts about Brighton because this season, at least in the local league, they lost by a landslide score, and also in the European league, in the first match, they lost at home against AEK Athens, so Brighton is not that strong, in my opinion, there is even a chance of a surprise happening in this match.
When you think about what Brighton has achieved, it's really unbelievable how far they have come and how good they have became in the recent years. This team wasn't anywhere near this level just a decade ago, and suddenly they have made themselves a very good team at premier league. They are aware that they can't fight against big clubs that have endless pockets, but they realized they could use the amount of money they are making at premier league, which is definitely more than what teams at other leagues makes, and they could use that to pay players accordingly and build a squad that could be at European competitions and do fine there.

Europa is where they can shine a lot, become the Sevilla of Premier league basically. This required a lot of amazing management decisions of course, but wasn't an easy decision, has to be a very tough decision making process for each time since they do not have any chances to make a mistake, it would be hard to comeback from even one mistake.

The bad news for Brighton is that they have two games away from home and they also have a game that is not to be underestimated against Ajax. For Ajax this game means a lot despite their bad situation in the Eredivisie. It is also about pleasing the club and their supporters. Winning this game against Brighton would mean some light at the end of the tunnel because it would also mean that they still can do it all and also win against strong opponents from the Premier League. If Brighton does not lose the game against them, it is still a good position for them. But this is still a but until the game has been played. Brighton's inconsistency definitely did not go unnoticed in Amsterdam.
However, in terms of quality, Brighton is better so I think the away match will not have a big influence. If we look at Brighton's journey since the start of this season they have continued to improve in quality so I have no doubt that Brighton can face 3 more matches in the remaining group phase matches to be able to qualify from group phase, quality-wise I think Brighton is very worthy.
Now Brighton is in 3rd place in Group B with 4 points, only 1 point different from Marseille who is in first place.

Away games always make a huge difference and that applies to games in the Europa League and Champions League much more than it does to games in the respective national leagues. The fan support of the home teams is overwhelmingly stronger because of all the travel aches and strains, depending on how far the fans would have to go of course. Ajax is having its worst season in recent years. It's been a terrible year. They were unable to show their presence in the first match against Brighton. They had many chances in their goal and lost the match 2-0. They are not in a pleasant situation in the Dutch league either. In the European league, I think their only goal this year will be to qualify for the conference league. Unfortunately, there is a possibility that they may not be successful in the conference league.

Leverkusen, and Liverpool's Europa League qualification has been a problem for other teams. Liverpool is always a champion league team and Liverpool is also a strong team in English Premier League but they have qualified for Europa League this season so it is a bit difficult for other Europa League teams to plan against Liverpool. Leverkusen, and Liverpool may qualify for the Champions League next season but the other teams will miss out on winning the Europa League this season as either Liverpool won the Europa League trophy this season or Leverkusen does. Comparing the two teams, I see Liverpool more likely to win the Europa League tournament title this season.

When it comes to the Brighton topic I just want to say that they can be much more successful than this in the Europa League. They are technically one of the strongest teams in the competition right now. Their squad and the game quality they have in the Premier League must be enough for them to be competitive in the Europa League as well.

However this isn't the case now. Instead they started the group stage disappointingly. However I really liked what I saw in their Ajax match. They were purely dominant especially in the first half and they gave some hope to me with that performance. But I wonder if they can be consistent on it. I think they should take this competition more seriously because they can easily be one of the big title contenders.  Smiley
I don't see the win against ajax as a big deal, although they were able to dominate all through and did perform brilliantly but for a team currently as weak as ajax is now, winning them in the Europa shouldn't be seen as any big because ajax is really weak even in their domestic league.

Brighton is no doubt a good team this season and could be considered a good contender for the title this season but ahead of them are Leverkusen and Liverpool who are really taking the league title really seriously so if Brighton must have a chance they will be able to beat these two which I don't see as really possible at this time because these two teams are in their best of forms currently.

Ajex are very weak this season and I don't think they can advance in the Europa League. I believe Brighton and Marseille will qualify in Group B, but AEK Athens are in form this season as well because they are third in their super league. I am confident Brighton will try their hardest to qualify for the next round of the Europa League, Liverpool or Leverkusen can win this Europa League because both are in good form but the leagues and Europa League competitions, What will prevent Liverpool from winning? This trophy is expected to attract some top teams that will migrate from the Champions League to the Europa League, such as Sevilla, Manchester United, Newcastle, Lazio or Athletico Madrid, and the Europa League will be very difficult for Liverpool and Leverkusen to win when these clubs migrate to the Europa League.

The results Roma is achieving in the Europa League group a clearly different from what they are doing in their domestic league, but I would never consider them a favorite for the Europa League title as that is still not enough. Yes Sevilla was in a similar set up last season and performed badly in the league while doing well internationally, but Roma doesn't play well. I have seen some of their matches now and this is not a team that can beat some of the strongest contenders in this competition. It is not like they seem to be able to improve their performance by a lot when necessary. On some days what they are doing is just enough and most of the time they don't fail. I am still missing a strong game that allows for some hope for constantly increased performances.
Current poor performance from the AS Roma in Serie A is having confusion but still peoples are ignoring their impressive run in last two years which they achieved in UEFA competitions, and they can do this again as well because we all know how things works in this event mostly teams which are having poor run into domestics league can go through for the best in this competition like Sevilla achieve and Roma can also do same even mostly feeling Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen are the best in current season.

But, as we have lost for the Arsenal and Manchester United can happen again because things can take any change without any problem so giving no honor to Roma for the title is not fair even still it's a long way to go, and we have few teams from Champions League as well in coming days from here any team can go through and things can be gone good for the Italian side as well which is surely having rich history in UEFA events.

But you are bringing the biggest problem up yourself. I know that you are correct about Sevilla and how they did in the last Europa League season, but this time we have Liverpool and Leverkusen and the teams from the Champions League when the new year starts and I have no idea how Roma could have a chance to eliminate some of those teams. If today Roma were to play against either Liverpool or Leverkusen, it would have to be a miracle that Roma survives that round. And by the way they had their miracle last season when they won against Leverkusen because there haven't been many games when one team was so superior like Leverkusen and yet lost the game.

I dont make so much analisys in the Europa League because for me Europa League starts when the UCL teams falls into Europa league in the 16 round, you can be the best team in Europa LEague but for some bad luck you have to face a top team from UCL and you can be out .
Not all outcast teams from the UCL are challengers in the Europa League, some of them may have to be wary of teams in the Europa League. I see that Liverpool and Leverkusen can be killers of other teams, both of them always appear consistently in the Europa League and their respective local leagues. Luck was not on their side last season as they failed to finish in the UCL zone, their performance this season is on par with the top UCL teams. I prefer Liverpool and Leverkusen to appear in the Europa League Final because their quality really deserves to be in the final.

Ajax has been not so great since their last golden generation. They went as far as semi-finals of UCL if I am not wrong, and from manager to players all of those players were amazing that year, they achieved so much and did so great, definitely was a golden generation. However, looking at it right now, I feel like it is not the same and we can't really assume that it would be anything similar that easily neither.

I think we need to agree that we are not going to end up with a situation that should be all that easy, we need to arrange something that would be a lot harder to handle. I know that it is not that easy to handle it, but that's just the fact that Ajax is no longer that team anymore. They may keep on getting worse results.
I completely agree about this all with their recent few big blunders bring them down badly while they sell their quality players to Manchester United which is also having nothing good and struggling but deals after selling Ten Hag to them and having huge funds for the players create mess-up, and they are surely needed to overhaul things before this gone into no way for return.

At the bottom of the Dutch League and same performance in UEFA Europa Cup after three matches even they have chance at home against Brighton but for the win and improved spot need positive mind and better performance which are not near them.

If we have no change into their performance in near future then surely we can face consequences which are never been ideal even most of the members are agreed they can bounce back because still they are one of the best in available sources in this league.
