I think Brighton performance is much better when compared to Ajax in terms of squad, although Ajax will play at home, but that wasn't enough for him to win against Brighton but it is possible that Ajax will maximize the draw.
Yes, you are right, sometimes as a home team it doesn't really matter when there is quite a big difference between the two teams in terms of strength and performance in that season, and as you said, there is a big difference in terms of performance between Ajax and Brighton, so it looks like Brighton won't face any problems when against Ajax and the betting market predicts the same thing by placing the away team as favorites to win the match in the middle of next week.
However, sometimes there are still doubts about Brighton because this season, at least in the local league, they lost by a landslide score, and also in the European league, in the first match, they lost at home against AEK Athens, so Brighton is not that strong, in my opinion, there is even a chance of a surprise happening in this match.

The bad news for Brighton is that they have two games away from home and they also have a game that is not to be underestimated against Ajax. For Ajax this game means a lot despite their bad situation in the Eredivisie. It is also about pleasing the club and their supporters. Winning this game against Brighton would mean some light at the end of the tunnel because it would also mean that they still can do it all and also win against strong opponents from the Premier League. If Brighton does not lose the game against them, it is still a good position for them. But this is still a but until the game has been played. Brighton's inconsistency definitely did not go unnoticed in Amsterdam.
However, in terms of quality, Brighton is better so I think the away match will not have a big influence. If we look at Brighton's journey since the start of this season they have continued to improve in quality so I have no doubt that Brighton can face 3 more matches in the remaining group phase matches to be able to qualify from group phase, quality-wise I think Brighton is very worthy.
Now Brighton is in 3rd place in Group B with 4 points, only 1 point different from Marseille who is in first place.

Away games always make a huge difference and that applies to games in the Europa League and Champions League much more than it does to games in the respective national leagues. The fan support of the home teams is overwhelmingly stronger because of all the travel aches and strains, depending on how far the fans would have to go of course. I also think that the quota for tickets available to international fans is relatively low? I could be wrong on this one, but I think for games in the domestic leagues the quota for the opponent's fans is higher than it is for games in the Europa League.

If we only look at the tables, one could think that the game against Ajax should be an easy one for Brighton, but I am far from thinking that way. It is still Ajax Amsterdam in their own stadium and that always means hard work to do for any opponent.
Of course, matches at home will be superior in facing every difficult match, whether in the domestic league, European league or Champions League, but matches at home are not a benchmark if you don't have a strong and capable squad depth. We all know that the Premier League is a collection of clubs. which is quite difficult to beat, indeed this match is very meaningful for Ajax, but if you look at it in terms of performance, I think Brighton performance is much better when compared to Ajax in terms of squad, although Ajax will play at home, but that wasn't enough for him to win against Brighton but it is possible that Ajax will maximize the draw.

When it comes to the Brighton topic I just want to say that they can be much more successful than this in the Europa League. They are technically one of the strongest teams in the competition right now. Their squad and the game quality they have in the Premier League must be enough for them to be competitive in the Europa League as well.

However this isn't the case now. Instead they started the group stage disappointingly. However I really liked what I saw in their Ajax match. They were purely dominant especially in the first half and they gave some hope to me with that performance. But I wonder if they can be consistent on it. I think they should take this competition more seriously because they can easily be one of the big title contenders.  Smiley
I don't see the win against ajax as a big deal, although they were able to dominate all through and did perform brilliantly but for a team currently as weak as ajax is now, winning them in the Europa shouldn't be seen as any big because ajax is really weak even in their domestic league.

Brighton is no doubt a good team this season and could be considered a good contender for the title this season but ahead of them are Leverkusen and Liverpool who are really taking the league title really seriously so if Brighton must have a chance they will be able to beat these two which I don't see as really possible at this time because these two teams are in their best of forms currently.

Not all outcast teams from the UCL are challengers in the Europa League, some of them may have to be wary of teams in the Europa League. I see that Liverpool and Leverkusen can be killers of other teams, both of them always appear consistently in the Europa League and their respective local leagues. Luck was not on their side last season as they failed to finish in the UCL zone, their performance this season is on par with the top UCL teams. I prefer Liverpool and Leverkusen to appear in the Europa League Final because their quality really deserves to be in the final.
There are several clubs from Italy who are quite consistent in the Europa League, namely Atalanta and As Roma, although As Roma this season is still hampered by being in the middle of the local league with 4 wins and 4 defeats. Not yet very consistent in the local league, I'm sure these 2 Italian clubs will be a problem in the last 16 of the Europa League, because I see AS Roma and Atlanta competing quite well in the Europa League for now. And they only focus on the local and European leagues.

At the group stage, Liverpool and Laverkusen are two teams that really deserve to be favorites, their performance is also very consistent in their respective leagues. Maybe the list of favorite clubs will increase when the teams that failed from the UCL will enter the Europa League, and if Sevilla plays here then I think they also really deserve to be favorites.

Besides that, Roma is in unstable form in Serie A, and they are showing a different performance here, and I see that Atalanta also has a chance to go further this time. Roma will benefit from the figure of Mourinho who will have a big influence on the squad mentality. I hope that the two Italian representatives can talk a lot this time in the Europa League.

The results Roma is achieving in the Europa League group a clearly different from what they are doing in their domestic league, but I would never consider them a favorite for the Europa League title as that is still not enough. Yes Sevilla was in a similar set up last season and performed badly in the league while doing well internationally, but Roma doesn't play well. I have seen some of their matches now and this is not a team that can beat some of the strongest contenders in this competition. It is not like they seem to be able to improve their performance by a lot when necessary. On some days what they are doing is just enough and most of the time they don't fail. I am still missing a strong game that allows for some hope for constantly increased performances.

Ajax has been not so great since their last golden generation. They went as far as semi-finals of UCL if I am not wrong, and from manager to players all of those players were amazing that year, they achieved so much and did so great, definitely was a golden generation. However, looking at it right now, I feel like it is not the same and we can't really assume that it would be anything similar that easily neither.

I think we need to agree that we are not going to end up with a situation that should be all that easy, we need to arrange something that would be a lot harder to handle. I know that it is not that easy to handle it, but that's just the fact that Ajax is no longer that team anymore. They may keep on getting worse results.

The thing that im sure if there will be a strong club to come from the group F of UCL. We can expect one team between newcastle or dortmund will be going to the europa league very soon. We are being even closer last match day.
We will see what club that will be joining in the europa league competition. This will also add more excitements by supporters to watch it. I hope that liverpool will be getting a strong team as its opponent.
Im thinking about liverpool needs also to get a worthy opponent too. It will also add more hype to the europa league match. People were not seeing this as a serious competition caused by it has far low quality compared with the UCL

I think that the scheme of europa league shall be changed to add more excitment from the football fans at this moment. People were being so excited with UCl caused by there were many big clubs participated in the UCL.
The current scheme was good but people are losing their interest once there was no a lot of clubs with big fanbase.

My guess is that Newcastle or AC Milan will stop in this competition, but that doesn't rule out the possibility of Dortmund dropping out of the Champions League and joining the Europa League competition. What is certain is that the Group F phase of the Champions League is still unclear for predictions. However, if Dortmund or Newcastle are ultimately involved in this competition. Looks like the competition will be a little more exciting. Apart from that, United also has the potential to drop out of the Champions League and end up competing in the Europa League. Sevilla, Lens, Benfica, Lazio, can add excitement to this competition. Thus, there are several competitors who have the potential to overthrow Liverpool and Leverkusen.

But actually we cannot exclude several teams involved in the group phase of this League. for example, AS Roma, they got perfect points in their 3 matches. even though the performance in Serie A is not that good. Marseille, which is currently led by Gatuttso with his offensive system style. at least, better than under Marselino's leadership. As for Liverpool and even Leverkusen, we have reviewed it many times. So, this time I won't discuss it.
referring to the last point, it is clear that this is the case. because those joining the Champions League competition are teams that are at least ranked in the top four. So, public enthusiasm will be focused on the highest competition compared to other leagues. but nevertheless, the Europa League has its own charm and a different atmosphere. In fact, teams that fail in the Champions League still have the opportunity to compete in this League and win other trophies that they can fight for.

If you realize, Ajax in this season is very devastated because after all, in Eredivisie the fact is that Ajax is at the bottom of the table at the moment. So yes, it is also not surprising if at this moment Ajax is a team that is at the bottom of the table also in the Europa League in group B.
Ajax this season is very tragic, Ajax is experiencing a bad period, the league is at the bottom of the rankings and in Europe it is certain that it will remain at the bottom of the rankings. But I don't want to say that Ajax was destroyed because I remember Juve who fell to series B but then they survived again and dominated series A again. Ajax after all is a large entity, it will not be destroyed that easily. I hope they recover soon.

Quote
Thus, then of course Brighton can maximize this moment to be able to finish in second place or maybe, for the group winner. Because after all, their points achievement is also still very close, Marseille has 5 points, AEK and Brighton both have 4 points at the moment. With points like that, then of course Brighton still has a very good chance to qualify and to go further in the knockout phase later, I believe Brighton has a pretty good chance here.
I also have confidence that Brighton and Marseille will advance to the next stage if we look at the squad of players among the four teams in this group.

Brighton is an average team with the Europa this season and I have no doubts about them qualifying from the group stage although they have not had much wins, they have had just one win and one loss and one draw but they have also been average in the premier league.
But Brighton and Athen are sharing the same point but I think goal difference is what is keeping them apart, if Brighton wins their next Europa match they are definitely moving to the second position on the league table, if we have to compare all the teams In the same group with Brighton I think Marseille is the only team that may match their strength so hopefully they will get better and definitely qualify.

Topping Group B will not be easy for Brighton. Because Group B has Renowned teams like Marseille and Ajax. Ajax's performance is quite poor now. Ajax and Athens may not be able to prevent Brighton from reaching the top of the table. Brighton's main clash will be against Marseille. The team in Marseille is not weak. They are unbeaten so far. Top of the table to get 5 points from 3 matches. Brighton will need to win every match if they want to regain the top spot in the table. Brighton have the ability to win all their next three matches to stay at the top of the points table.

I dont make so much analisys in the Europa League because for me Europa League starts when the UCL teams falls into Europa league in the 16 round, you can be the best team in Europa LEague but for some bad luck you have to face a top team from UCL and you can be out .

Did you knows, Barcelona in the previous two seasons and until now always played in the Champions League, but in the previous two seasons Barcelona continued in the Europa League . But what was the result ? The result was a loss and Barcelona was knocked out and with that, the teams coming out of the Champions League do not fully guarantee tobe the best in the Europa League in the knockout phase in the Europa League. Also yea, this season that Europa League also haveLiverpool and Bayer Leverkusen who have had very impressive performances and results sofar this season. Therefore ofcourse, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen at the moment have good quality, and not inferior in quality to the teams which playing in the Champions League this moment, of course.

This season, unlike previous seasons. In the group phase, the competing teams do not attract much attention for us in the community. So, it's very natural for you to say that. because so far, there are only two teams that have progressed consistently in both the European League and the Domestic League. none other than, Liverpool and Leverkusen who are in a situation that can be said to be on fire, especially in this competition.

However, I agree with what you said. because however, the teams that drop out of the Champions League group phase will add excitement to the competition for trophies this season. However, there are still a few more rounds until we know which teams will enter the Europa League playoffs. So, at least we have to wait. Even then, if the teams that slipped in the Champions League competition qualify in the group phase of the playoffs. anyway, we don't know for sure. For example, when Barcelona was defeated by United, even though Barca was predicted to be the toughest competitor. So, let's just wait and see how exciting this Europa League competition will be.

There is no doubt about this Brighton done good job and beats Ajax at home but in next round which is going to play at Amsterdam things can change with Ajax can fight back and have win which will bring them back into competition for the qualification into next round as well Brighton have to play away games and Ajax having advantage to play few games at home can change the fortune for them.

Brighton is also having problems in domestic league, but they are still doing good in both and their performance giving them good chance for having better results in coming matches as well Ajax needs to work on their strategy and Brighton is also surely having problems in last few matches which is also needed to be fixed before it's too late.
Overall, Brighton has a great chance of qualifying from the Europa League group phase, but of course De Zerbi must improve his players motivation and mentality to be even better to secure a slot for his team. The match on matchday four will bring them together again with Ajax, I don't think there will be any significant difficulties because the Dutch representatives are in very bad condition, and of course this is very beneficial for Brighton to get the three points again.

On the other hand, Marsielle will face AEK Athens, if the Greek representative loses again then Brighton will be very profitable. Even though this is just a scenario, it makes sense if you look at the condition of the teams in their respective leagues.

Brighton is strange because they have these very weird results but in both directions.

When you look at their season, they got started with two games winning both of them 4-1. Then they lose at home against West Ham 1-3, but then win against Newcastle 3-1. Then they win against Manchester United away 3-1 and after another 3-1 at home, they lose 1-6 against Aston Villa. Cheesy What the.... is going on there? In my opinion these results are really weird and it would destroy their Europa League dreams if they have one bad day and lose a game big time in the knockout rounds.
The conclusion is that they cannot maintain their performance or can be said to be far from consistent, it's just that if they can still win against a strong team then they will still be safe in the English Premier League.
Meanwhile, the European league is still in doubt but they still have a chance to qualify for the group phase, because from group B it seems that only Ajax can be guaranteed to be eliminated seeing how bad they are in three matches, while Brighton has the same points as AEK Athens and also only 1 point different from Marseille, they still have the same chance, the question is how they will face AEK Athens in the away match and also face Marseille, whereas when they face Ajax they should be able to make good use of it by winning. Lack of experience playing in European competitions could be an obstacle for Brighton when they have to face quite tight matches.

Since the start of the season, Brighton performance has continued to improve, so I am not surprised by Brighton's 2-0 win at home, but mentally the Brighton team is still very unstable in the Europa League, so they lost against AEK Athens on their first matchday.
~snip~
I think as a newcomer, this result is already pretty good. I'm a little optimistic about Brighton.  Ajax are not a small team, they are an experience team in the UCL or Europa League. This victory made their chances even greater to qualify for the knockout round. They can draw against Marseille and they should be able to seize the moment when playing at home. Then get at least one point in every away match or three points when facing AEK. Plus obliged to win against Marseille at home. Otherwise, their steps will be a little heavy.
The chance is still there for brighton to go to the top position. As long as brighton will able to win the remaining games and everything is fine for the club. Marseille probably becomes the strongest competitor for brighton at this moment. I think that there is a chance for brighton to surpass AEK after this match. Ajax will become the next opponent of brighton. I consider this as an easy match for brighton. Ajax was not able getting full points and it was only getting 2 draws against another team in the same group.
I don't even have a lot of expectation at this moment. Im thinking about try to pick brighton. Brighton had very good odds as bookies were giving it 1.82.
Im favoring brighton to win the game in this match. Im not even tryin to think many times in this match. Im sure that if brighton will able to win the game against ajax. Brighton needs to get cleansheet.

Hahaha, it very true that several teams that are currently competing in the Europa League must prepare to welcome the arrival of the top teams that were eliminated from the UCL.
They are number of teams that are strong enough that if they only compete in the Europa League it will only cause sadness for some of the lower teams.
For example last season when the team that was eliminated from the UCL entered the Europa League the game was clearly very different until in the end Sevilla became champions.

It is obvious that Ajax played very badly this year. They are last in the Eredivisie, last in the UEL. They also risked their chances of getting out of the group by losing to Brighton in their group. The next match is again against Brighton and if they lose here again, they will fight to go to the conference league. Ajax may be going through the worst period in the team's history.
The quality of the game between Ajax and Brighton was clearly not comparable because from the start of the match Brighton put a lot of pressure on Ajax and made them unable to do much.
From controlling the ball to dominating the game, Brighton took the lead and managed to win 2 - 0.
For their next meeting there will be a surprise from Ajax because it is home match for them and they will take advantage of this advantage as much as possible.
