At some point in the match Bayer Leverkusen were appearing clueless in their form and performance especially in the first half after the second goal, their psychology did went down and I could see that they were almost appearing totally defensive so that they will be able to stop further conceding of goals but then it continued in the second half of the game of which I don't want to believe Leverkusen did well enough.

Some how I felt like there were some level of pressure around the game that Leverkusen couldn't handle because at this point everyone was aware they were about to make history and all that meanwhile Atalanta knowing all this understood the pressure and how well to take advantage of it to seeing how well they can be of a problem to Leverkusen and stop them from been able to win the trophy already so they added more pressure and increased it for Leverkusen to been able to handle. An early goal has always been the tactics of Atlanta as they did used it against Liverpool and it did worked.

Leverkusen would have been able to avert that losses if they were able to calm the pressure at the beginning of the game as that has already gotten them to have some flaws already in their form and their morales were down when they were now two goal behind because in oder to win they have to cancelled the two goals first after which they can now hop to score more goals to win.

Atalanta need to stop selling their important players like they sell Hojlund last season. They will play in Champions League next season, they will need to upgrade their squad depth to able to compete with top teams. Gasperini is a good tactician, he elevate Atalanta to be a tough team and have an attractive gameplay throughout his coaching career at Atalanta.

Despite they have won a european trophy, Atalanta still need to have improvements. They have capability to compete for the title race next season, if they are able to maintain their form with some improvements. It was a wonderful season for them regardless, and the bigger task ahead for them is that of the next season which they need to take more serious and concentrated about because many teams already know what they can do and they won’t take it cool on them when they clash from next season.

I suppose you are right on that, one can even call it as an over confidence on the team and their fans. I know many teams has learn their lesson from this UEFA Europa league tournament that ended up for the favor of Atalanta, and it will make others team to be more serious with Atalanta next season to ensure they stop them not to near 4th position in the table next season.

If you look at the way Atalanta take start the season and the way Bayer Leverkusen take start this season, you will know that they embrace this trophy by luck because Bayer Leverkusen play more than Atalanta but they made some mistakes in the final game that made them to loss against Atalanta.

Unfortunately it didn't go according to Alonso's plan, they had to be beaten in the most important match even though the previous match in the domestic league was not an important match but Bayer Leverkusen still tried to win but it was their turn to be in an important match they failed to do so. To be honest, I am also quite disappointed with this result and had supported Bayer Leverkusen by including them in my bet but they failed to do so really upset.
