Why the hell are you discussing Barcelona in the Europa League thread? Grin
Is Barcelona playing in the Europa League? They might get into the Europa League eliminations by finishing on 3th place in their group of the UEFA Champions League tournament, but that's still just a possibility.
I'm expecting some Spanish or Portuguese team to reach the finals of this years Europa League.
Maybe S.C. Braga will do it.They have do it before AFAIK.Clubs that might end up on 3th place in the Champions league groups like Sporting Lisbon,Porto and Benfica are even stronger than Braga.
You are on spot we need to talk about Europa League here, and we have no Barcelona right now, even I am feeling this year they are going to be here after having some poor result from 2 early matches. Right now Braga is doing very good, and they can go in better situation in next round matches Galatasaray and Lazio are also teams to watch for next round and having good results.

Napoli was my favorite, but now they are not serious about this, so I am feeling they will be eliminated soon from here, and they will keep all eyes on Italian League. Porto and Sevilla are also strong contenders for having good spot in Europa League, as these teams are not suitable for Champions League.

Last season, they did not thank Koeman for what he did. This season, they put Koeman in a chaotic summer and gave him a departure of Messi at the very end of pre-season training.
Now, they blame all bad results on Koeman. Is it fair if you are observer? I don't see how to call it as fair treatment of Barcelona for Koeman.
You got the point. Even in a financially stable club, the vacuum created by the departure of a big fish like Messi needs enough time to be healed. Koeman needed sometimes to experiment and change strategies but such time was not there for him. I think he's run out of ideas, coupled with the absence of some players. Now that Aguero, Dembele and others will join Memphis, let's see if there would be a positive vibe. Any further defeat will be disastrous to the well being of the club.

I get that, Messi was an important part of Barcelona but even the coach plays an important role in motivating the players. The other day I saw the news that Pique said that even if they played for 3 hours, they wouldn't score a goal. What does his statement indicate? Lack of motivation. Yes, they have a weaker side, but they need to be motivated enough to play even average, which they are not and Koeman is partly to be blamed for that.

Not both of the Turkish teams have started really good to the tournament. Fenerbahce are having a really hard time beating their opponents. They drew with Frankfurt by 1-1 and lost to Olympiacos home by 3-0. They are not a bad team and they have a decent lineup too. But something is really not going good for them. On the other hand, Galatasaray had a great start by getting four points in two games. They beat Lazio and get a point from Marseille away. I wonder if they will be able to keep this up.

Well,  Koeman is only partly to blame for this Barcelona side. We have to accept the fact that Leo Messi was a huge solution to this Barca side's puzzle. He was holding this team together and was creating every chance for them to score. Maybe the players got very demotivated after Messi left, unfortunately.

It would be disastrous, not just for the club, but for Koeman himself and his position as head coach. He can say anything to the management, they need time to adapt, etc., but they will just ask him why he gets money in such a case, if he can not properly train the team... That's all, I think they will not soon start to get a normal form

Well this season Barcelona is looking really really bad in the Champions league and the La liga. They lost to Benfica 3-0 that cannot happen to a team with that big of a quality. Kooman is killing them slowly currently and the Barcelona managment arent doing a thing.I think we can expect for the first time in a long time to see Barcelona in the Europe league.
We don't know what's really going on with Barcelona right now, and I don't think we can fully blame Koeman for what happened to Barcelona, because I don't think the solution of changing coaches will be 100% effective.
I think nothing is impossible in today's modern football, all the teams that play in the champions league are of course a very qualified team and I think it's not only Barcelona who lost to non-seeded teams but madrid and manchester united also experienced the same thing, but yes it hurts more barcelona anyway because it lost 2 times in a row Grin.

Legia are one of the surprising teams so far in the group stage. They won both of their two games. They defeated Spartak Moscow first and after that they managed to defeat even Leicester. Maybe both of these games ended 1-0 but a win is a win for them definitely. Because I guess that they weren't expecting a great start like this. They must be just enjoying the moment.

Could this be the year when Barcelona will reach Europe league finals ? Or this is just to big for this current squad of Barca ? I'm saying this because the UCL seems kinda over for them with 2 defeats in a row and having 0-6 scoring points...I doubt they can qualify from 1st or 2nd position so now they must battle with Kiev to save the UCL season and qualify for Europe League but even here he find great teams who can take out Barca right now and one of them might be just Betis from LaLiga Cool per example.

That's an really interesting thought and even though it seems weird to think about FC barcelona playing in the Europa league it could make a lot of sense, also for Barca itself. At the moment it really seems like that Barca is nowhere close to the performance level of the other big european clubs like ManU, Mancity, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern and Paris and even if they can somehow manage to reach the second place in their group i think they will be eliminated very quickly in the knockout phase. If they have to play in the europa league though they have a pretty good chance to reach the semi-final or even the final and then i think it's a good opportunity for their young players to gain experience and financially it should also be lucrative.

Currently Barcelona still have matches remaining in the champions league so there is still hope for a chance of qualifying for barcelona, but with the two consecutive defeats they got in the group phase, of course there will be many difficulties for them this season to qualify for the next round, but I think if barcelona are able to win at least the next three games of course they can stay in the champions league, even if later barcelona will play in europe, i will bet if they will be a strong candidate to win the european league this season.
Barcelona will easily defeat Dynamo Kiev in the next two matches, i'm a Dynamo fan so i can be trusted))
I also think Bayern will beat Benfica twice in that case after 4 rounds Barça will have 6 points and Benfica 4 points.
I'm confident that Barça will not beat Bavaria so if Barça wants to go further they need to beat Benfica in a head-to-head match and hope that Dynamo doesn't lose to Benfica.
As i was writing this post i realized that it is more likely that Barça will qualify for the Europa League Grin

Even though I'm not a Barcelona fan, I really hope that Barcelona can comeback in the next 4 matches, because honestly the Champions League doesn't feel complete without Barcelona and of course it's very strange to see them playing in the European League.

Yes, this is a big chance for Legia if Napoli, with its Serie A lead in mind, prioritizes Europa League games much lower than Serie A games. In the end, the victory in the Europa League is very illusory, and leading the championship and not being distracted by anything, they can almost guaranteed to get into the Champions League next year, where there is many times more money, and if they are lucky, then become the champion of Italy.

I absolutely doubt that Napoli will do that. Why would they? What is the idea behind that? All those stars playing for Napoli won't give away the Europa League for free. It is not the Champions League maybe, but still those guys compete for titles on international level as well. They will certainly play with the best squad available. I don't see any realistic hope for Legia to really believe the opposite.

Also, Napoli has crazy fans. Go tell them you are giving away that competition! Cheesy

One can argue about what is more valuable - winning the championship or winning the Champions League (for example, for Real, it may be more valuable to win the championship because it more often wins the Champions League in recent years  Cheesy ), but I doubt that it can be argued that winning the championship is clearly more significant than winning the Europa League. Winning Serie A is much more valuable. So with Napoli now having 7 out of 7 wins in the national championship, I can assume that they will fully concentrate on winning the Serie A title this year.

It wouldn't be the first time that a team that loses the first two matches has managed to qualify for the next stage of the Champions League. Therefore, Barcelona remains one of the top teams in the group with a chance of going through. Of course they have the hardest job, but they are still a great team. I believe that this break, for the National Teams games, will help Barcelona to reorganize itself internally and improve its performance.

Hopes still alive but with current form it's looking very difficult because they are fail to do goals in few matches which is big shock for them and on other side Koeman strategy is also not working. Even there are still some good hopes as we have 4 more matches 2 at home and 2 away mean few things still can happen but on field and off field issues are also hurting moral of the team.

Financial situation is also not good as they need some good cut in wages and debit is already touching $1.6 Billion which is big. But, we can hope some good as current management doing some good decision's if they are able to solve these all in near future then surely we will watch good fight back from them.

Maybe your view is right now currently we have few issues like big teams playing too many matches like in last 8 days Napolis play 3 matches, so this also have some serious impact on players body and performance just because of this many feels they are not giving their best for Europa League like they are doing hard work for local league. In Europe, no team can announce like this because their fans are very furious about this all.

Right now we have few dark horses in big leagues and Legia is also one of these even no one can give good chances to them, but these teams can change situations very quickly for few big teams.

Yes, they won two matches in the group both with the minimum score, but so far I don't see anything special about that. Probably the next match Napoli - Legia will show how strong Legia is. Napoli has only one point and will be obliged to play to win in front of their spectators in a home match. I'm not sure that in such conditions Legia will be able to repeat the success of Spartacus.
I am feeling Legia is doing good in this group in next match they are going against Napoli which is good team but in last two matches they have done 4 goals and have 5 goals against them in Legia case they score only 2 goals and have now against them.

It means that they have something good, and they can contain Napoli because their recent match was not good after having lead they lost by 2 - 3, In my view they are not taking seriously this Europa League and want to have better record in local league so just because of this they are not doing tough like they are doing in their local league.

Yes, this is a big chance for Legia if Napoli, with its Serie A lead in mind, prioritizes Europa League games much lower than Serie A games.
