Pickford is one of the best goalkeepers in the premier League but many times he has made unnecessary decisions that on some occasions cost his team big time. The beauty of a keeper is to always have his focus and make less avoidable mistakes.

Today against Greece the England number one was at it again as he made a very big mistake outside his box and this mistake almost resulted into a goal. I believe it's time that he had some serious competition.

Sorry, what? When did they start using the standings as a coefficient in the Club coefficient?
Isn't it still based on points per clubs?
https://kassiesa.net/uefa/data/method5/ccoef2024.html

If they did change that, as I have no idea about it would be pretty stupid, I know it was a long time ago but I can still remember Inter playing with no Italian in the line-up against Ac Milan, what would that have to do with how the national team perform?

While I was looking at the previous posts on the thread I noticed your answer. Maybe it is a really late answer - sorry for that.  Tongue  But probably I read fake news about such change and talked about it like that. Or maybe I was just high and I wasn't aware of what I was talking about, lol. But thanks anyway mate. By the way I agree with you. In such situation it would really be meaningless.

How did England end up with losing to Greece home?  Huh  I was expecting them to win by a very dominant game. Lee Carsley is a caretaker manager as far as I know. I wonder who they will prefer in his place.

- England vs Greece
Greece the underdogs ended up defeating the three lions. I cannot say that they did not deserve it because they played very well moved the ball very quickly and where able to move from defense to attack creating opportunities for themselves to put some pressure on the England defenders.

It was really a shocker to see Greece winning England when there are great players in the England squad like Bukayo Saka, Decline Rice, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden. Jude Bellingham even tried to get an equalizer but the pressure from the Greece team was just so much and they scored another goal and won at last. Greece striker Vangelis Pavlidis really did a nice job for his country as he scored the brace that made them win England. To be frank the Greece players really put in so much efforts to win England so it's a well deserved victory from them as it was a total hard work and not a lucky win.

Quote
I am still surprised how Cole Palmer beat Jude Bellingham to the best English player of the year award because in this England, Bellingham was everywhere and even scored a goal. He is a more complete player than Palmer.

Jude Bellingham is a great player no doubt but considering current performance i think Cole Palmer is better so it's not a surprise that Cole Palmer won the English player of the year awards.

The Italian side was greatly affected by the early red card picked up by Pellegrino and the impact led to the two equalizing goals since the Italian side started playing full defensive game and no one could do the central midfielder work of the evicted guy. They were lucky enough that the Belgian side could not punish them further by grabbing the win. Debruyne was greatly missed in the match today too. Belgium didn't play too well but took advantage of the red card to share the point with the Italian side.

Full time score 2:2, points shared.

The Italian team is quite strong. Last month we also saw Italy win against France. The Belgium team is also quite strong. Even so, I considered Italy as the favorite in Italy's home match. And in the first half we saw a good performance from the Italian players. Italy took the lead with Cambiaso's goal in the first minute of the match. And in the 24th minute, Retegui's goal gave the Italian team a 2-0 lead.
Pellegrini received a red card in the 40th minute of the match. Pellegrini is one of the most important players in Italy's squad. After Pellegrini's red card, Italy's performance naturally slowed down a bit. Now I think the match is most likely to be a draw. Because the Belgium team is also quite strong.

Your guess is correct. The match was drawn 2-2. But I would say Italy would have won the match if Lorenzo Pellegrini hadn't been red carded. In the first half we saw a good performance from the Italian players. But even after Pellegrini's red card, Italy's gameplay began to weaken. And in the second half we saw the dominance of Belgium players.

Italy took a 2-0 lead in just 24 minutes. But at the end of the first half, Italy was leading 2-1. Belgium tried to dominate the second half. On the other hand, Italy kept their defense strong. However, Trossard equalized in the 61st minute. In the second half we did not see any strong attack from the Italian players.

The absence of both Romelu Lukaka and Kevin de Bruyne not withstanding I still do no think that the Italian side are at that level were they can pose much threat against the Belgians because am sure the Belgian coach would find a suitable replacement for these two players even if it may not be exactly at the class of De Bruyne or Lukaku and besides it would be an opportunity for new players to showcase their talents against the Italians.
Its quite unfortunate, the Italian players are actually a big threat to the Belgian team in today's game, because judging from the performance of the first 25 minutes of the game, it was visibly obvious the Italian squad had a good attack force and good strategy, which led to the 2 goals in the first 24 minutes by Cambiaso and Retegui, of which I'm sure Belgian would never have scored a single goal if the Italian never got a red card (Lorenzo Pellegrino), which I'm sure must have destabilized the Italian player's strategy more, leading to goal by Belgian at 42 minutes by "De Cuyper". However, this game is likely to end either draw or a win to the Italian squad, despite playing with a one player down.

It's safe to say that Italy have gotten their groove back. For me, they became more interesting to watch when they thrashed France 4-1 in Paris in the last international break. Right now it's as if Belgium are a shadow of themselves and coupled with the absence of Kevin de Bruyne, their performance isn't just cutting it.
A comfortable win for Spaletti's Italy and I'm sure there'd be more goals with how much pressure Italy is mounting on Belgium.

Lorenzo Pellegrini’s red card was a bad start to the win for Italy. A goal in the first minute and a second minute goal that made it 2-0 to Luciano Spalletti’s side changed to 2-2 after Pellegrini’s red card in the 40th minute.
It seems Spalletti was not prepared for the game in the middle of the match when his team received a red card. This should have been a winning streak, but it doesn’t look like it will be as Belgium are now in control.
There is still a chance of a comeback for Belgium.

Italy was leading the match 2-1 but they received a red card in the 40th minute. The red card that Pellegrini received disrupted the balance of the whole game. Italy will now try not to concede a goal in the second half. Of course, Belgium has very strong and very good players. It is certain that they will wear out the Italian defense. Italy currently has a one-goal advantage and they should use this advantage well. They can win the match if they can play a ten-man defense well.
True. They'd have to do everything possible to retain this win with ten players and after being strengthened by the Maxim de Cuyper goal in the 42' i believe they will go for more and that's what they've just done through a Leandro Trossard shot after a corner. I guess Italy will be rueing the time Pellegrini had to get that red card because that's what just paved the way for Belgium.

Italy has begun to re -build an interesting game to note, their style of play changes pretty well, France cannot balance the game embedded by Italy. And now the game against Belgium is running, the score while 2-2 is the same, before the match in the first half was won by Italy with 2-0, but over time Belgium improved the defense and the way they attacked which finally could penetrate the Italy defense and the position became Same, Belgium is indeed natural as one of the strong and balanced teams to compete in the Europa Nations.

Made few bets for Nations league that watching this stuff would be a bit more interesting. Made parlays of France, Austria and England wins. Also, put some money on Italy and Norway wins and over 1.5 goals in Finland - Ireland.

Actually, I was sarcastic about that! All three games are just useless stuff, the outcome of D  groups will always be the same, the team that goes to C will get their asses kicked next league and then go back to D while the next one gets slaughtered! And could someone explain why we need two D groups (and no boobs joke!) when they could have just made one with 6 teams, they could easily play more matches as they don't have players in the top leagues anyhow!

The League could have been way simpler by putting them in just two groups with the top 16 teams and the bottom 16, with 6 or 8 teams moving between because that's the maximum of teams that would really matter in this, imagine the death match between Estonia and Kazakhstan to Latvia and Feroe actually counting for something, lol! In my opinion, these are just useless games, the only obvious thing is the cash grab for more TV rights and publicity!
I got that you was sarcastic. There was grain of sarcasm in post too because IMO whole Nations League is useless stuff, not just Division D. It's not even qualifiers, for what they're all playing? Yeah, I know that few spots to EURO are given through Nations league, but in general, it's not much more important than friendly games. And with such intensive calendar we shouldn't be surprised that so many players are getting serious injuries like ACL.

You need to know that both Lukaku and De Bruyne are absence in this match, that's might be the reason why Belgium becomes big underdog.

Belgium actually have many star players, but when they play as a team, they show no chemistry and the results are bad because they can't fight against teams that in the same level like them.

On the other hand, Italy not have many star players, but they're quite strong as a team.

Italy should able to win this match.

In my opinion, on the contrary, the absence of these two players will greatly affect Belgium's game later. Moreover, Italy faces this match with quite good capital, under the guidance of coach Luciano Spalletti he made a policy of relying on many young players and succeeded. So far Italy has been able to achieve two wins, Italy was able to beat a strong team like France and they were also able to beat Israel. Of course, with this perfect result, Italy is increasingly confident to face Belgium.

In terms of H2H, Italy is also superior, so in this match I am increasingly confident that Italy will win. On the other hand, because I see Italy under the guidance of coach Spalletti has made many major changes with its young players and his team is increasingly compact. So I think he will continue the positive trend in the match against Belgium.

The matches currently underway are:
- Moldova vs Andorra (score 1-0 / match is in the 80th minute)
- Latvia vs North Macedonia (score 0-2 / Match is in the 79th minute)

And after this several matches will be held, namely
- England vs Greece
- Gibraltar vs San Marino
- Finland vs Ireland
- Austria vs Kazakhstan
- Israel vs France
- Norway vs Slovenia
- Faroe Islands vs Armenia
- Italy vs Belgium
- Estonia vs Azerbaijan

And it looks like there are many matches that I will miss in betting today. Because I'm quite unsure about some of the matches. However, what really caught my attention were only two matches, namely England vs Greece and the Italy vs Belgium match.

The Belgian side are still a super power when it comes to European football as far as the FIFA ranking is concerned and this was what played out between the Israel and Belgium match during the last FIFA international break. But in this upcoming tie against Italy I believe Belgium can either get a win or a draw because Belgium has a young team that are very resilient with a blend of veteran players like Kevin de Bruyne, Tielemans, Lukaku who can fortify the midfield and the attack and make it difficult for the Italians to dominate them, so it's going to be an open game because the Italian side are not that star studded team that can totally overwhelmed the Belgians considering how they struggled during the European cup, so I don't think the Italians would be much of a threat to Belgium when they clash.

By the way Italy looked really strong in the first 2 group matches here. Do you think this is really because of their being much better from the last Euro? Huh

Or it is maybe because their opponent(s) played carelessly compared to a much bigger tournament. I don't think the same for their Israel match but the France one...  I don't know.  Sad

No matter what I also think Italy are a serious favourite in this one. Being deprived of De Bruyne - Lukaku would affect Belgium really badly. Italy should really be the winner here as long as they maintain the same effort.

Another magnificent game, but no thanks I'm going to stick with Moldova vs Andorra and Gibraltar vs San Marino, at least I know from the strat to not have expectations of anything!
Such games is reason why I love Nations league Cheesy. San Marino got their first ever win in official game after beating Liechtenstein, maybe they can do it against Gibraltar. And then they would have great chance to get promoted to league C.
