@Hydrogen, @joshy23. I have never heard any pundit or any MMA sports journalist say or write that states AJ does not like to be hit in the face. Are you making it up and made another member in the forum agree with you because he does not know any better? Cheesy

Hey @bbc.reporter

That's why I find I said its interesting because I didn't know if this real or not. I'm just quoting and replying to @Hydrogen. So I'm not making this up either. Its speculation on my end, but I assume every person doesn't want to punch in the face, especially the one that you didn't see.  Smiley because that hurts too much. hahaha

I speculate AJ will not retire for long. He will come back maybe next year or at the end of this year but this time in the heavyweight division. If that happens I would also like to see Jon Jones move up to heavyweight if he wins the light heavyweight title back.

AJ will probably try some other forms of income because he is getting tired of getting submitted by better wrestlers, the problem is, making money is hard out there so he will probably come back for a couple more fights.

He wil most likely follow Rampage Jackson, making movies after quitting UFC then going back again for a few more fights. But AJ has still potential left in him, maybe just mental roadblocks he needs  to overcome to really make a successful career in UFC. He is a fine addition to HW division, but I would rather see him in LHW and try to win their.

Light heavyweight division seems pretty empty to me. Who is a ticker seller anymore besides Daniel Cormier? I can't think of a single one (except Bones himself), so I guess we are waiting to see what happens next. I would like to see McGregor roided as fuck at 200 LBS fighting there lol.
It is pretty obvious that the absence of Antony Johnson will take the drawing power of light heavy weight division and we will really miss the Bones vs Johns match which i was really expecting to see as soon as Jones returns and the retirement just shook up everything and now Jimi Manuwa who Johnson knocked out recently are relevant for the title and with Ryan Bader and Phil Davis not with the UFC anymore there is a serious lack of talent in the division.

AJ claimed that the is retiring and not fighting ever again, he said he has further business beyond fighting, maybe some role in some movie or something? It would be cool to retire from fighting as an actor.

Anyway, next is Cormier vs Jones. Jones is insane, he is a coke addict. I think he is the type of fighter that if he losses he will kill himself, no joke.
It is sad to hear that AJ is retiring from the sport and that light heavy weight division lost one of the most attractive fighters , he might not focus his career into movies but he might have something lined up with NFL ,what he said was he is not finding it interesting to prepare for the fight and the decision might be because his team had a split recently and all these factors might have forced him to retire.

@Hydrogen. I also did not do well. I changed my mind and I bet on Chris Weidman at the last minute and on AJ the day the odds were available the month before the fight.

AJ fought very much like the last time he fought Daniel. I do not think it was about his game plan. Maybe Daniel is a bad match up for him?

Some have said Anthony Johnson doesn't like being punched in the face. Daniel Cormier hit Johnson with a good right hand & that's when Johnson started to wrestle -- maybe because he didn't want to be punched in the face again?

Johnson could also has a tendency to give up easily. He might have gave up when he fought Vitor and also when he fought Cormier the 1st time.

Interesting point. I never heard that Johnson doesn't like to be hit in the face. But, who would love to be hit in the face? But I supposed there are fighters that don't like to be hit specially one who has a big punch. They don't want to taste their one medicine. I only notice that Johnson easily give up just like you mentioned in the first fight with Cormier. I remember Victor Ortiz in boxing, once he got hit in the face, he quits.

@SaShiRaJaVu. Where did it say that the appeal favors AJ? I cannot find any news about, please post the link of the site where you got it from. Thank you.

This is good if you are a fan. The UFC should strip off Daniel off the light heavyweight title then let them fight again for the 3rd time. AJ might have a chance this time.

Looks like this is far from over. Anthony Johnson is filing a protest and wants an investigation on Daniel Cormiers weight-in where DC was seen holding the towel on his 2nd attempt and he made the weight after doing so. I tried to duplicate what DC did on his last weight-in and yes holding on to something even a towel can make a difference, but I just don't think it can cut 1.2 pounds.
If the appeal favors Anthony Johnson then Daniel Cormier have to vacate the title , i am sure Daniel Cormier just cheated his way during the official weigh ins because no one is able to reduce 1.2 pounds in two minutes and that is what Daniel Cormier did  Cheesy ,i am really surprised that no one noticed that difference and no one questioned that difference at that time which was really strange ,what surprised me is that AJ announced his retirement which was really shocking and Chris Weidman started a new trend by being a cry baby  Cheesy.

Life, Love and Laughter...
Johnson lost and he himself knows any protest will not change anything.  It might on paper, but after two fights, he lost to Cormier.  Just a simple fact.

Anyway here's a nice fight wrap up and review by Dominick Cruz, done on his way to the airport.  Lol.

The problem with AJ is if he does not dominate in the 1st and 2nd round, he does not have a game plan on what to do next or maybe he does but he gets caught in the fight and gets discomposed.

There were comments that AJ is weak on the mental side of MMA. I did not totally believe any of it until this fight. His declaration of his retirement has shown it. If that happened to Daniel, he would be asking for a 3rd fight.

Daniel Cormier is a gold medalist in the Olympics with a long MMA history in several brands, this guy is one of the best talents ever in the field and he gets booed by the stupid Jon Bones Jones crowd which doesn't appreciate at all what this guy can do. No one comes close to DC, except Bones, and he has ruined his career with the drugs.

This is indeed the historic fight we need, just like Conor vs Khabib.

When I watched the reply I think Johnson has no intention to fight Cormier, he's too more excited on announcing for his retirement. Aj give up easily on their fight that was so disappointing in my opinion.

Daniel Cormier has beaten everyone on the division but Bones Jones. Now he needs to get his shit together and come back into the game to fight Cormier for the final fight. Daniel Cormier has no real competition anymore except Jones.

DC needs to fight Jon Bones. Like you said he need's to get his shit together, otherwise DC will call that Jones is afraid to him fight. You are right, DC has cleaned up that division and the only man who has beaten him is Jones and he wants to avenged it. The two has a personal twist on their fight history so it makes sense for the fight to happen soon.
