I just watched the replay again.  It's a very controversial situation for Chris Weidman.  I think he was going for the DQ.  Right after the match was stopped he was acting like he was having some sort of brain damage.  Then when the ref said it wasn't illegal, lo and behold he lit up and he was acting rejuvenated.  Cheesy

@Hydrogen. I also did not do well. I changed my mind and I bet on Chris Weidman at the last minute and on AJ the day the odds were available the month before the fight.

AJ fought very much like the last time he fought Daniel. I do not think it was about his game plan. Maybe Daniel is a bad match up for him?

I did poorly on this card.

Did not expect Anthony Johnson to fight such a bad gameplan.

New York State Athletic Commission seemed a bit inexperienced.

Still not a bad night of fights.

Fight went as expected, made some decent money with the Daniel Cormier win, that was a great performance, even with a broken nose he was able to outgame him and take the win. People booing him are stupid Jon Bon Jones fanboys. I wish to see Jon Bon Jones lose in the hands DC.

With this win, DC now have a solid chance to beat Jones if they fought again. I was rooting for DC in the first time but too bad he lost. There's no other fighter Cormier want's more than Jon Jones. I don't know when is Jones coming back. But I hope he fights Cormier when he decided to fight again and see who is the real champion is.

I just only watched the replay of Cormier and Johnson a while ago, in the first round Rumble controlled the octagan and keep pressuring DC on the corner, in the last minute I thought he's going to knock him down with a kick but I doubt. In the second round DC just shows his ground play, Cormier tripped Johnson and get on his back controlled his position until Rumble can't defend, in the DC is still the Champion. Respect Anthony Johnson for retiring! I heard his going to NFL? Anyone?

I haven't watch the fight yet. but it looks like the fight end as what I have predicted, by submission. Based on what I have read, DC took a huge kick in the head and has his nose broken or bleeding. He has a solid chin that has not been crack yet which also help him in this fight. I'll give props to Rumble as well, but DC is too much for him, too bad AJ is retiring already. As for Weidman, yeah I think he's done. He can't compete with the top dogs in his division.  Will try to watch it later and will add my analysis if needed.
Daniel cormier took a huge kick and i am sure his nose is broken and he is the only person who could take a blow from Johnson and he won the first round taking Cromier down a couple of times and in the second round things changed and it was a repeat of his first performance and what is more shocking is that AJ announced his retirement .

Well i don't think rumble's going to be retired for long. I mean guy still has a lot left. I think we'd still be seeing him in the future and this retirement thing would be a good promotion for him by then. I'm just now waiting for jon jones Cheesy

Expect for Will Brooks ,the rest of my prediction was true and i am really disappointed by Will Brooks ,seen his wars with Michael Chandler and was the
Bellator Lightweight Championship before signing for UFC and he is not up to the level as expected and now gettings submitted within the first three minutes of the fight. Cormier beat Antony Johnson and i am really sad that AJ retired with a loss and props to Gegard Mousasi.

Congratulations to Daniel Cormier defeating Anthony Johnson via submission, what a shame Anthony Johnson made an announcement he's retiring from the UFC.

Regarding on Chris Weidman match against Gegard Mousasi it's better to call it a career, with his 3 streak losses what's next for him?

Yeah Weidman is done.  It will take him a while before he becomes a title contender again.  Congrats to Cormier, I guess this kinda solidifies his status at the LHW division?  Nobody can dispute his being a champ now except for Jon Jones.

@thejaytiesto The UFC has nothing to do with the weigh ins as the commission is overlooking the entire process and it was clear that Cormier cheated to make weight and still the commission had no idea about the towel trick and so he was able to get a pass here. The prelims are going on and my predictions are Cynthia Calvillo,Myles Jury,Kamaru Usman ,Will Brooks and Gregor Gillespie to win the match.

Wow interesting that that happened. Maybe Dana White called in and told the weighters that they say that he passed the weight or something?

I mean just imagine the disaster for the UFC as a brand if this fight is AGAIN a failure.

DC vs Bones = failure
Khabib vs Ferguson = failure
This one = failure again

The brand will be finished soon if this keeps happening.

Today we can finally find out what will happen here. My bet is on a Daniel Cormier win in a rather boring fight where he will dominate the rounds with defensive stance and maybe we'll see a submission by DC
I hope AJ doesnt ruin my bet with a lucky KO
Daniel Cormier missed weight but came back and weighed in after two minutes and made weight which was really strange and now that weigh in is a controversy as it is claimed that he cheated and made weight  Grin i am not sure how Cormier's mentality will be as he is coming back after a nine month gap after a lacklustre perfromance against Anderson Silva, still my bet is with DC.

Does somebody know what's going on or have any rumors to share?  Cormier is now at 2.15 in Nitrogensports making Rumble Johnson the slight favorite of the match.  What caused the fade?

I just watched the weigh-ins and everything looked fine from Cormier except for a slight controversy that he was 1.2 pounds overweight and used the towel to lift himself a bit and make him lighter.  I think it's BS.

Here's the video of the weigh-ins.  What do you think of Cormier and how does he look?

@bbc.reporter By watching the embedded video it looks like Daniel Cormier is not in good shape mentally, something is off even if he is talking to the media, the problem i see with Anthony Johnson is that his team blackzilians is no more as they had a split and even though he claims that he is training with both the teams ,i feel like he wont be able to prepare the way he wanted to,it is a really interesting hurdle on what the situation is until we see them in the cage.

I think it's unfortunate that DC gets always the worst odds. How can he be the underdog? DC is obviously not the underdog in this fight, he will probably win, AJ will need luck to catch him.
It is good to have Daniel Cormier as the underdog and if he wins, its more money as simple as that. Smiley Johnson is a knock out artist and that makes a difference in the minds of odds makers but i am interested to hear the trash talking by Gegard Mousasi,it is really funny to hear him speak like that because now a days people are forced to talk trash to get title fights. Cheesy and i am backing Mousasi to with the fight simply because of his fight experience from middle weight to heavyweight and has defeated Mark Hunt  Shocked Jacare Souza even though he lost the second fight to a much improved Souza it is a feather in his cap and he was a light heavy and middle weight weight champion in Dream and a Strikeforce light heavy weight champion and with 49 fights and 41 wins and just 6 losses it is impressive and he is just 31 years of age.

But it also means that if Daniel Cormier has become the underdog then the smart bettors who have the access to more information than us have bet heavy on AJ, which also means they know there is a greater likelihood that Daniel will lose.

It is not really that simple. There is a reason why we keep losing in sportsbets.
