Just watching the weigh-ins for this event and waiting to see what she looks like @bbc.reporter
Checked the odds about an hour ago and seen her as an underdog so will also want to see what her opponent looks like now.
Of course the size of a fighter won't determine who will win with many fights in the past having them getting knocked out with all that roid rage. Cheesy

Surprised to see Barbosa the underdog in the main event by a wide margin.
Looking at his resume he is the more experienced fighter of the two.
Also the co-main looks good with Khaos Williams and he looked more jacked on the scale than almost every other fighter up there and yes even Ariane Carnelossi.

@rdbase. There is another fighter in this event who also has a very good body. This is the mannish woman called Ariane Carnelossi. Her muscles are very hard and strong very much similar to Edson Barboza and much of the men. This appears to be very much similar to Kayla Harrison's muscles, I reckon. Also, she is very much underestimated by the sportsbooks henehehe.

We can be quite certain that her breakfast is dinosaur meat.

Could of sworn we had discussed about Barboza on this thread before and look what I dug up from mid October of last year's Vegas 81 when he fought:
USADA had announced in a statement earlier than president Dana White intended they would not longer be doing the drug testing for fighters.
So of course this had made alot of noise by fighters in the past who were cut out competing in the UFC made their voices heard. Especially Mcgregor.

Edson Barboza had a photo a month ago showing how big he can get and at his age had people wondering if he was on the same training regiment as the Notorious one.

With the next UFC Vegas 81 starting in about 7-8 hours from now, there was a fight which had been scheduled to happen due to a controversial stoppage ending in a no contest was cancelled right after the weigh-ins:
https://cagesidepress.com/2023/10/13/ufc-vegas-81-loses-edgar-chairez-daniel-lacerda

The cancelation wasn't due to either fighter missing weight but due to a non-disclosed medical condition for Lacerda.
He is around 38 years old but still has a younger looking psyche. We will see from the weigh-ins later on today if he still looks that way.

UFC's Dana White CEO CONFIRMS end of UFC Apex Events, UFC St. Louis: Lewis vs. Nascimento results!
IMG
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCLFu02c7Dk

Finally! I agree with MMA Guru here. The Apex is becoming boring, we are not in the pandemic anymore, time to change the view.
FINALLY! Dana White Confirms NO MORE APEX? Female Media Caught Edging? Jones vs Miocic In November?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtldZtTlBRI

A lot of fans do like the idea of using other places as the venue for UFC Fight Nights some have mixed reactions about it and are worried. It's not the "end" it will become an occasional event in the APEX and I think it will bring more good things for the industry. This move of Dana might also help out in comparing if he did the right thing or not. Only the fans, pay-per-view, and ticket sales can tell that and he must wait for the results first.

It's great news for the company and fans. Therefore, having events held in other locations would result in more people consuming the event and bringing more people into the mix, generating discussions, etc.

Not everyone can go to Vegas these days. They've been doing it a lot and they must have compared the growth in profits whenever they do it in APEX and other places. I'm not sure if there is a difference in fees for the fighters when Fight Nights is somewhere else.

Yes, I think it will be good for the industry. I think Dana has to start looking for local fighters in every location. In the Enterprise Center which is located in Missouri, he should have fighters residing there ready to be scheduled if they plan the FN in the Enterprise Center.

I have few guesses for this card, I really believe in Nascimento's victory, but it will be quite difficult and will probably end before five rounds. This is one of the few times that I won't bet on all the fighters or a large part of the card.
Same here @Pumared !
As I had mentioned before, I'll be only placing a bet on the Cortes-Acosta vs Despaigne bout.
Because this guy is a massive favorite so will be betting on the KO to get better odds.
And might bet on Carlos Ulberg but that is about it.
None of the other fights inspire me to place a big parlay for this UFC fight night.
My bet that there wouldn't be five rounds ended up being successful, but Nascimento's defeat was expected but as I bet on him I ended up losing. In any case, it was a good fight, Lewis adds another KO to his list. What he does is impressive.
Congratulations on your prediction but since he is one of the knockout artists now, I would imagine the odds were quite low for it not going the distance. I hadn't checked those odds when it comes to such fighters.

Cortes-Acosta was the shocker of the night where he taught the Cuban that knockout power is not the only thing in MMA if you want to be successful in the UFC. The dominican handed Despaigne his first loss with a good tactical fight where he had a takedown in every round.
Ulberg of course finshed his opponent in no time and as I said before is a uniform fighter.

Very interesting, I hadn't seen his speech yet, I hadn't paid attention. But it is very interesting that he is a ranked fighter, if he manages to maintain his pace in all his next fights, as was the case in this last one, he could easily be a top 3 or top 5 fighter. The UFC only stands to gain both competitively and financially.

Yup! he is still interested in the belt and in winning against Jonathan Martinez he surely got a lot of confidence As for how old he is compared to Martinez I really think he is surging with confidence and looking forward to beating guys younger than him and guys that are in the top rank for sure but still doubting if he can really get the belt but I will surely watch his performance for sure.

Uninteresting card for the UFC this weekend and not going to waste any effort in mentioning about it. If you want to go ahead but I doubt you will find it interesting to even discuss about.
Much like the CEO of his own company doesn't care about fights that he is promoting and even sitting in the APEX and watching as MMA Experts had exposed him to have gambled on an NFL game instead.

Fighter Exposes Dana White! He wasn’t even watching “Least Fun Fight Ever”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlXXjG_fGq8

There is possibly only one fight that I would have interest in placing a bet on or even watching and that is of Robelis Despaigne. And that's about it for this St. Louis card which Joaquin crashed the UFC press conference for prior. What an absolutely foolish and childish thing to do as everybody remembers what Dana's reaction was to that outburst on the mic by Buckley.

This is really Disgusting as Dana White has his gambling addiction on Football games while Movsar Evloev is having his fight for sure maybe Dana White's fashion for MMA was gone but this is really disrespectful to Movsar Evloev and the president of the UFC should resign if he doesn't want to give his attention to certain fight like this while Movsar Evloev is a really great fighter and saying that it was a boring fight while he is not really paying any attention I was really boiling while watching this and that certainly something that UFC needs to focus with it.

Yes, few people really believed in Aldo and he came back with everything and showed that he is still a great fighter. But I don't think he will remain or at least fight sporadically. I don't believe he's a regular ranked fighter in the UFC.

Yes, a few people not including myself because I bet for Martinez but do you hear Jose Aldo's Ring interview? He said that this is not his last fight and he could go and get the belt to be the Champion, he is taking the risk and going for it and becoming the champion for sure I think that he meant something and he will do it here is the clip.

No doubt Aldo capitalized on his last win and he said he's going to sit with Dana who is probably working out another contract for him. There were discussions on some channels that after Sean Omalley vs Merab, it's going to be Sean vs Aldo because of the money they could make.  He said he wants to get a title, maybe Dana will grant this wish.

All of a sudden, many of them are interested in Aldo.  His hype restarted and then Chito Vera also asked for a rematch.
If Chito Vera gets a rematch than why not McGregor too?
We all need to remember, Aldo retired and took his career to boxing. His rank doesn't look so good even with that win last weekend.

It really is a very weak card. But I look at it positively as there will be many better ones and everything is closing in on that. There are categories that have their belts at a standstill and will soon have to move. Bad days are necessary for better days.
Yeah it is. Anything after will be compared to UFC 300 from now on.
That is how it was the BIGGEST CARD EVER for the UFC!
Anyone who says different is just a fool who only comes in here to troll us and should just move on.
Cap!

Will check out the Despaigne and throw some bills on that fight. The Ulberg fight could be something but the guy fights are just uniform and very boring.

Daddy Dana only care about the money, that's a fact. Grin Maybe he does care a little bit especially when it's events like the UFC 300 when more money will come in.

Hoping they can set it up real quick. Both fighters are aging and it's better if the rematch will happen as soon as Aldo recovers from his last fight while the hype is strong.

Agreed with you about Pantoja's performance as many had said Erceg won that fight. Especially when that huge elbow landed and produced significant damage to Pantoja's forehead.
He would of won if he didn't so many takedowns in the final round and just stayed dragged the rest of the round on the feet because Alexandre was so evasive from scrambling on the ground.
Watched it again and see what all those MMA so called experts were talking about analyzing this fight.
For a 10th ranked fighter Steve Erceg held his own and is still basically a green hat in the UFC with just as many fights alot of fighters who have been in the organization for a longtime don't get the chance to debut on a Main Event card.

It was really shady picking Steve Erceg they could have picked Kai Kara-France or Muhammad Mokaev but have gone with a Ranked 10th fighter for sure it was all hand-picked but it was wrong to hand-picked for them because Erceg has shown great promise and I could say from watching his performance he got a bright future on the UFC even if he can not become a champion as I think Muhammad Mokaev could take that position he could be in the higher rank for sure now I doubt the legitimacy of the UFC 301 I really think it was meant for Mexican people's fan service.

Like what the analysis said about Jonathan Martinez feeling too much respect for Aldo, that should be minimized and we can see his frustration when the fight ended. He badly wants that win but he must stay aggressive. He got caught with a big hook in the temple and that wobbled him and his feet went weak. Well, it's not that bad to lose against the Hall of Famer Jose Aldo, he will just need to get back up.

Aldo's boxing definitely improved. I never thought about that, but his stance shows that he has a powerful punch now and it actually showed. Just that one hook made Martinez's eyebrow bleed and it proves that Aldo ain't joking when he said he is good at boxing now. Great fight. I loved it.

I was really shocked and impressed with Jose Aldo what did there definitely is an improvement in his boxing and striking and I was really ashamed for not seeing it I haven't looked even further at what he is capable of now and maybe because I was busy for certain weeks and away on the forum that I haven't got any news about what is happening to the UFC well, it was a family trip so yeah, but then after seeing Jose Aldo now I think he have improved but still doubting if he can really take on the belt.

Despite some betting losses, I managed to make a profit. Especially in the José Aldo fight. The event as a whole was very good and exciting to see the Brazilian fans. Looking forward to the next one

That Aldo Fight was really incredible and I am never imaging that Jose Aldo still had it in him and that Jonathan Martinez was not on par with his level of caliber I surely learned the hard way that Jose Aldo is still a great striker and he has shown it in the UFC 301 when he beat a younger fighter with his great boxing performance for sure he is one of the great UFC fighters that has a high caliber with his striking and now 1 of the legends in the industry it was shown in his fight with Martinez is accuracy and precision in getting those strikes whenever it is a striking punch or kicks it mostly land on target.

Jonathan Martinez VS José Aldo LOST

Now! I might have given so much credit to Jonathan Martinez and I especially have some bets over him, but I never imagined that Jose Aldo to still be this good it was like he never had some year break, or just like I have said I have just given Martinez too much credit because of their age difference, as some older fighter can still manage to give it their 101% inside the octagon but is training and sparring more diligently as we knew they are doing.
