Funny how you mentioned about Japanese fighters and with this next event happening it all seemed to be a well thoughout and planned to fall into place by the UFC.
I think UFC is maybe planning to expand more to Japan and Asia in future with big events.
They need to have more top fighters from this regions if they are going to be popular ion the whole world, not just in Japan.
I wish we could see comeback of some quality sumo wrestlers in UFC in heavyweight division, that would be fun to watch.

Recently they lost a lot of Asian legends and they ended up not being so attached to the fighters. But if I'm not mistaken they must still have good fighters with big fans. Korean Zombie, for example, was a big loss.

Raul Rosas Jr. didn't fail my bet. Just like I thought, he will win that fight and he ended it in Round 2 with a submission. That dude is on his way to stardom.

Are we talking about upcoming main event Alex Perez vs Tatsuro Taira?
On paper this doesnt look like interesting fight but things change when you look at the stats and see how Taira has a perfect 15-0 MMA record!
Taita is one of the best ranked UFC fighters from Japan and if he beats Perez he needs to move up the rankings in flyweight category.
I am surprised he is now only ranked 13 in this division with such a perfect record and five wins in UFC.

Then the UFC just a few days ago signs Kai Asakura a champion from Rizin to fight for them thus giving up his title and start from scratch with them instead:
https://www.lowkickmma.com/ufc-sign-rizin-ff-champion-kai-asakura-japan

They obviously want to expand into different markets and Japan seems likely to be one of them.

As I mentioned in another thread on the same subject, Tatsuro is young and will give a lot of work. He will make the category move and will generate a lot of entertainment. The more of this we have, the better for everyone.

Good lord! What is with that pic!
Looks like he wants to be back in high school or he tried out for the show saved by the bell. Nice backpack!
Don't tell me that is an ad for his clothing line I mentioned. Because that is just horrid and he should fire his marketing manager for that one.

lol Not really. I just took it from Twitter, the users there are just mocking Conor, he made lots of enemies so he gets a lot of mocking from fans. Seen his spare videos recently, Conor actually is getting fit seems very possible that he could make a breathtaking win.

We're still to find out if Tatsuro can make a 5 round fight especially if Perez performs the same way when he fought Matheus Nicolau. 5-0 in UFC but I can see Tatsuro can compete the experienced fighters like Pantoja. If Dana has to look for someone to eliminate the top guys in the division, Tatsuro is a perfect guy and Dana wouldn't even mind if Tatsuro has a zebra record as a result of this. He is young anyway but Mokaev seems to be his fave and will be the next champ.

Many fans are debating the Cannonier stoppage and he too voiced his opinion yesterday-

https://www.mmafighting.com/2024/6/10/24175528/jared-cannonier-blames-referee-gut-wrenching-ufc-louisville-loss-jason-herzog-got-finish-that-fight

"“It doesn’t feel like I lost the fight. I just felt like it was taken from me, the opportunity to persevere, which is one thing I’ve done in a lot of my fights, and continue on and try to make good on the fight. Gut-wrenching is an understatement.""

Even some pros have not agreed with the stoppage, cannonier has asked for an immediate rematch to make things right  Shocked

I think a good rule would be that if the fight is very divided by the judges, they should give a rematch at the next event. It would be very interesting to see and would leave no doubts. Sooner or later someone would get tired, but we would always have great people at the top of the category.

Conor is all about the hype with him and his fights and he knows this to the maximum to his ability to produce it for his brand.
You two know he has made more from his branding than all of his fight pursues combined?

His clothing line August McGregor, Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey, Black Forge Inn, number of other endorsements and lastly his appearance in the film amazon had put out the rehash of Road House for modern times featuring the UFC.
Video games too including Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Electronic Arts UFC titles.

So he isn't hurting if he makes it back and doesn't get a win.
He can care less. But it will just add to his legacy towards more of those documentaries (having watched the one from 2020 over the weekend so get onto the hypetrain before it leaves the station as they say) they have been making for netflix and prime video.

You also notice some of those photos he has a beard then the next he doesn't.
It is all in the game, he would say.

You don't say.

After years off, Conor is likely not going to win indeed. That's why he is more focused on his branding and all other businesses while Chandler, who doesn't have much fight IQ, was also off for years. They both undergo serious training this time so its a fair fight for both old guys but if the fight goes south for Chandler, he knows where to hit Conor to win or likely takedown Conor.

@Pumared I remember the accident he had while riding his bicycle down the street but that was a year or so ago. And I think @jakelyson is right with it being just the one time of it occurring.

If it is all for the money no one does it better than Conor McGregor that is for sure it is all business for him and he is entering the octagon just to be the hype he is right now, and right now I got a news that the fight between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor is still on as for the news that I have seen here is the link

https://www.mmafighting.com/2024/6/8/24174343/michael-chandler-confident-conor-mcgregor-fight-still-happening-at-ufc-303-the-fight-is-on

Road House was great by the way it was really perfect and Conor McGregor was really acting great in that movie, while his documentary might have some bad taste for the non-Conor McGregor fans it will be a treat for his fans that are still on the hype train.

Now we know that Michael Chandler was in the car driving and accidentally ran over Connor while he was walking down the street. It really was a unique opportunity that was not wasted. Now Chandler sleeps more peacefully knowing that his plan worked.

That news was last year maybe in January but if it is Michael Chandler who is driving the car maybe he will surely hit McGregor on purpose even without their latest fight but for sure because of the Hype Conor McGregor is emitting and their fight is on.

In my opinion, Michael Chandler was thankful enough because Conor McGregor wanted to fight him instead of anybody else for sure he could fight somebody who was less intimidating than Chandler.

Conor being the same as he did when he fought Nick Diaz during UFC 202 by being a no show for the press conference.
But can't count the fight being called off. Remember he had fought injured before with an inflated foot.
So you never know since there is alot of money on the line and don't think the UFC has any contingency plan in place to have for him dodging this main event if he does infact completely calls it off last minute.

I reckon Conor before his fight in boxing against Floyd Mayweather was different from Conor after Floyd Mayweather. This is very much similar to Jesus' arrival hehehee, BC and AD.

In any case, uncle Dana sent his search team to find the lost Conor during the press conference and this is where they have found him heheeheh.

Also, more important news. We have 2 sexy fighting kittens hehehe, Andrea Lee vs. Montana dela Rosa. Which kitten will win?

so the fans were wrong in saying he was found in a gynecology hospital.  damn it i always fall to those rumors. conor vs chandler is going to happen after all. it's unbelievable to see conor back away when it comes to having a mic.

Hehehehhe if Conor was found in the gynecology hospital it will certainly be him who will do the gynecology check ups with his organic telescope on different women hehehe. In any case, it appears that when Conor vs. Chandler was announced, everyone was excited for Conor's return. This caused me to like Chandler to win. However, it presently appears that much of the fans hate Conor. The contrarian in me wants to witness Conor get the victory with a knockout with Conor's left power punch hehe.

I reckon this is the news where the hospital pictures came from? I very much do not believe he could have died. This might be clickbait.

Conor McGregor "could have died" after being hit by a car.

The 34-year-old mixed martial artist took to social media on Friday (27.01.23) to reveal he had been knocked off his bike by a car behind him - whose driver had been blinded by the sun - while riding through the Irish countryside but credited his knowledge of the full-contact combat sport based for saving his life.
He wrote on Instagram: "Got a bang of a car just now from behind. A sun trap, the driver couldn’t see me. Full speed straight through me. Thank you God, it wasn’t my time. Thank you wrestling and judo also. Having an awareness on the landing saved my life."

When it comes to Connor, I will believe whatever they tell me, because he is capable of anything and more. So, this may, in the end, have just been a wake-up call for him and nothing happened, but it could also be that he is unwell.

When it comes to Connor, even the uncertain is uncertain.

Seems that it had been postponed due to Conor McGregor stating that he had problems getting to the location or some nonsensical excuse such as this. He had done this before for a presser. It is all for hype nothing more.

They aint cancelling nothing due to ticket sales being through the roof even for this press conference.
Don't think people would be happy paying so much for 303 only to see Jamahal Hill fight against Carlos Ulberg.

I think the fight is definitely off,
"ESPN, the promotion's US broadcast partner, has removed advertising for the pay-per-view from their website,"

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/mma/conor-mcgregor-ufc-303-fight-32963251

ESPN has basically confirmed that by doing this, they are probably just waiting for a standin to announce it together  Shocked

Well, i was wrong.

Chandler has confirmed that its ON-

The UFC has probably used the delusion of Conor McGregor and fueled it so his fans would buy a nonsensical fight and believe that their favorite fighter would come back into the Octagon I surely don't know why they are buying this as they all know the long hiatus of McGregor he already tastes the limelight and in this fight, he is aware that he loses that limelight will be gone forever as fans are expecting him to perform well against Chandler for sure that was pretty much was what fans would want even if he doesn't win I think if he got a performance of the night just like what Dustin Poirier have done against Islam Makhachev.

There had been some leaks that Conor could of reinjured his calf or somewhere around the knee.
It was mentioned on many of the MMA podcasts but it is all speculation at this point and even Dana mentioned something about it on his latest podcast announcement then talked about fights coming up.

It is all strange at this point because you know the UFC doesn't want to have fan backlash with not refunding tickets. I believe they are stuck if they bought them wanting to see McGregor fight.
Obviously they did since he was the main event on the card. You think they wanted to spend god knows how much the front row tickets were to see Chandler fighting Holloway?
Sure it would be a great fight for the BMF title but it isn't no comeback of the most Notorious fighter in the UFC.

For sure Conor McGregor is just doing fine well although that could be true, because he was taken a picture he may be taking a physical exam because of a certain injury and they might be correct with the calf injury part so the fight between him and Michael Chandler I say the fans that bought the ticket because of him may feel bad about it

Look at that grin do you still think that he is injured it looks like he was having fun or the part that he is injured was just for show or this is for show so the UFC would get a ton of sales for the ticket what do you think guys do the UFC and Conor McGregor did this on purpose?
