@owengtam09 What made you think Thompson is going to win against MP, his wonder doesn't work anymore.

Even though Stephen Thompson is 40 years now for me he is supreme when it comes to his striking and for sure he is more technical when it comes to his striking this is what I think about him and for me, he doesn't look like 40 years old, and unfortunately the fight was canceled due to Michel Pereira Missing Weight,

Dustin Poirier VS Justin Gaethje - LOST

Pretty much it is a great fight and congrats to Justin Gaethje he proves that he can surely up his game so much that he can become more technical with his fight, and for this fight he surely knows what Dustin Poirier will do and that punch kick combo is surely amazing just like on the Leon Edwards VS Kamaru Usman fight but in here Dustin Poirier surely doesn't have any defense for that kick he got a counter for that punch but for that kicks that Justin Gaethje is releasing it was really devastating for Poirier,

Jan Błachowicz VS Alex Pereira - WIN

Now in this fight, it was so intense and close that many are saying that it was a robbery, but it was a real win for Alex Pereira, he even has a good ground game right now because of Glover Teixeira for sure Teixeira was really strict in giving a lesson on Jan Blachowicz well in this fight it was a great fight for Alex Pereira in my opinion,

Stephen Thompson VS Michel Pereira - CANCELLED

Now I was really Frustrated about this Michel Pereira missed weight and it was annoying knowing that it was Cancelled just like this,

Actually, I made my bet but didn't post it here because the rain was heavy and the flood was entering the house it was a disaster so I had to bring up my PC on the high ground, where I could not set it up, but because I made my bet and I am seeing the fights late right now through the recap it was 1 epic fight for Justin Gaethje I got to admit Gaethje is researching his opponent well and studying Poirier in his previous fights well I have lost it because I have bet for Dustin Poirier on this one,

Dustin Poirier VS Justin Gaethje ROUND 2 KO/TKO - LOST

It was a great fight for Justin Gaethje and he has proven that he is really the "Bad Mother F" there is and he has proven it, here well Justin Gaethje is throwing a setup on Poirier the 1st round was just a setup for that knockout he is preparing for Dustin Poirier his right straight and that leg kick that Gaethje was throwing that low kick was a preparation for the high kick in the later round, but man! that round 2 was really a great thing for Gaethje to throw that naked high kick because the ground that Dustin Poirier was showing was for a boxer defense the Philly shell defense and setting up that combination of punch and kicks where Dustin Poirier doesn't have any defense for the high kick, and this had rocked him really hard,

Jan Błachowicz VS Alex Pereira ROUND 3 DECISION - WIN

There are many saying that this fight was a Robbery but after watching the replays I really don't know if it was a good replay that it was a great fight Alex Pereira is showing massive improvements on the ground game, it was thanks to his mentor Glover Teixeira that he surely unloads that rare naked-choke on Jan Blachwicz it was surely an improvement for the guy, and judging from this fight the Alex Pereira will now fight for the vacant Light Heavyweight Title, maybe against Jiří Procházka,

Michael Chiesa VS Kevin Holland ROUND 1 SUBMISSION - WIN

WOW! Kevin Holland wants the BMF belt so if the BMF wasnt in that division he will switch Divisions just to get it, and for sure fight Justin Gaethje over it, I never thought those guys will have interest in the BMF belt like that but it was surely 1 shiny belt and a trophy for a fighters collection, well the fight against Michael Chiesa was really fast you can surely see who is the one that is on the advantage on this fight and it was really Kevin Holland, that knee that made Chiesa fall, then following up with the D'Arche Choke was really a tremendous win for him and man those takedown defense was really impressive,

Made my choice at the last hour before fight time.

I was sure I will bet on Alex Pereira after I saw his performance during the Pereira versus Adesanya 1.
The main event is where I was having a lot of trouble to decide.
Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje are both great fighters and so deciding who will win is unpredictable. I will just stick to the favorite today and see where it will go.
Put some good money for Alex Pereira but just a little bit for the main event. The fight is almost starting, let's enjoy the fight with some beers.

Let's go!! It's time!!!

^^
That main event will guarantee to be a very good fight to behold.
Because this is the second time they encounter each other and the last one Justin only lost because he slipped up with a leg kick and Dustin saw it coming so threw that knock out punch to put him on the back foot then press him.
I expect an over 2.5 rounds from a 5 round fight between these two to be a solid tip for this fight and have that market on most of my betslips for this card.

Also a side note: Michel Pereira vs Stephen Thompson has been officially cancelled so there goes my acca I had posted earlier and will have this one leg voided as per the casino sportsbooks rules on any fights that are cancelled before the event starts. Brings it down by nearly half my total odds since it was an over 2.5 rounds market as well.

So  hyped for poirier vs  gaithje!

Poirier is such a likeable dude so im really hoping he wins!

I read on reddit people talking about 'elevation ' factor and how  it might benefit gaithje more, anyone her has more insight on it ?

I  think ill just take poirier  and over  2.5 and enjoy  Grin

I'm guessing you haven't seen Derrick's 6 packs yet?  He truly made it as promised. Maybe he'd win this time. He must feel lighter.
Blacho is gonna shit all over since Poatan is much bigger and he looks healthy too unlike Dustin who seems dehydrated. Makes me wanna cash out and put my bet on Gaethje by KO.
@owengtam09 What made you think Thompson is going to win against MP, his wonder doesn't work anymore.
Had to watch the official weigh-ins not live but about 4 hours ago, the entire show was 2:49 hours so skipped through it and missed a couple such as Kevin Holland and Vinicus Salvador. But caught all the others.

Derrick won't have that 6 pack when it is time to fight. He will gain all that weight back fast after his protein power meals are done. Marcos De Lima looks like a monster compared to him even at the weight cut.
If he goes down, I am afraid Derrick Lewis won't get back up due to submission if Rogerio doesn't chop off his legs first, from what he is known to do to his opponents.
I have always backed Poatan in all his fights and seeing him at the weigh-ins proved he looks more comfortable at light heavyweight instead of middle weight. Because I don't know how he managed to cut so much of his muscle weight fighting at middleweight with such a large frame he has. So I expect the big Brazilian to put away the Polish Power with a knockout later in the fight.

Two fighters missed weight during this weigh-in show:
Vinicus Salvador misses flyweight - "Vergara has already agreed to a catchweight bout, and will receive 20% Salvardor’s show money as compensation for his opponent’s error."
Michel Pereira blows weight cut - "Top ranked welterweight fighter Michel Pereira was the most notable name on the card to struggle on Friday morning. The Brazilian was all set for a high-profile action battle against former title contender Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, when he came in 3 pounds over the limit."
source: https://bloodyelbow.com/2023/07/28/ufc-291-weigh-ins

As of now, they haven't decided what route to take for the Wonderboy vs Michel Pereira fight yet.
They will likely allow the fight to continue and just do a purse percentage cut like they had done for the Vinicus fight. Will likely know what will transpire closer to fight time.

Odds have risen for those fighters @danherbias07 since when I have put in my bets yesterday too.
For example, when I put in my bet on Alex Periera was 1.93x now he is 2.01x and all other lines have shifted with the action people have started betting on their fighters to win their bouts.
@owengtam09 This is definitely a stacked card with everybody under the sun who has a youtube channel reporting on MMA are saying the exact same thing: There is not a fight on this UFC event that isn't a stinker matchup.
They are all good fights to watch!
And I will have to agree with you there: This UFC 291 will be another Main Event that will be a smash hit just like the last Main Event was in 290!

Here is my betslip on this UFC 291 event:

The only one I am questioning is the last one for over 2.5 rounds. Just as long it goes the distance I think they will be safe within my acca.

Definitely, it is a stacked card we have and actually, I really like it, and I got some fights that I was curious about what may happen but I am just going with these 3 fights that I think could be possible,

Dustin Poirier VS Justin Gaethje

Man this fight surely is going to be a banger and this one is now a rematch because their 1st fight was a win for Dustin Poirier with a KO on punches in the 2nd round so this could be a repeat or can we see a new one because back then Justin Gaethje is not fighting technically back then but right now Gaethje has already changed his style and now fighting more technically that is why for this fight I am still for Dustin Poirier for sure Poirier is going this long enough and being technical in every aspect of his being, so my pick is Dustin Poirier

Jan Błachowicz VS Alex Pereira

now for this fight, there are 2 things that could have happened in this fight and we could see domination for every single fighter if they stay in engaging with their expertise, for this fight, Jan Blachowicz could be dominant with his wrestling games and sure topple Alex Pereira on his feet he can surely do it, while we all know about Alex Pereira and his stand-up performance with Israel Adesanya he could also topple a dominant stand-up to defeat Blachowicz, for me my pick is Alex Pereira,

Stephen Thompson VS Michel Pereira

This fight, this is going to be a pure striking of a match Michel Pereira has some take-downs but he is not a true-to-the-bone wrestler and I think Stephen Thompson would expose this, but he can not underestimate Pereira's unpredictable kicks and punches Stephen Thompson is not a slack he can surely tremendously become technical with his striking this is going to be a great showcase of striking, where Michel Pereira could pull a great leaping kick but for this fight, I think I will go with Stephen Thompson for this fight,

A lot of them are on this card. There's even Lewis who I'm not sure if he is going to win against Marcos. One fighter that is noticeable is Gabriel Bonfim, I will wait til the winning method is available on Friday, he will submit Giles I'm almost 80% sure of it, or else KO. Dustin vs Gaeth is a clash I'm not able to see who will win but I'd be rooting for Dustin, he is after all the bookmaker's favorite and he won in their first fight.

Jones vs Tom is suicide. Bones will bleed Tom's face before the KO. That's so much, he probably won't be able to win against Gane.

Actually I am not familiar with the opponent of Derrick Lewis the Marcos guy, but if he is technical enough for Lewis then likely that Marcos guy could win this, but if he's fighting capabilities is the same as Lewis then Derrick Lewis might win this one,

Well this fight card is really stacked in my opinion, and surely it could be another hit for the UFC, but it will surely still depend on the number of viewers,

Oh yeah, I am excited about this fight. And for those who are also excited just like me, here is the countdown for UFC 291 posted 3 days ago by the same uploader to relieve some of that adrenaline.  Grin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnQT-15D8Fc

The resurrection of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s BMF (Baddest Mother F***er) title after Jorge Masvidal retired and left it vacant. How I really wish he and Nate Diaz had met in the Octagon again to continue that fight that was stopped by the doctor due to Diaz's eye injury that looks severe to continue.
Well, now we will see who is the baddest of the two in the main event of UFC 291.

Are any bets ready for this?
Here are the odds.
Poirier, Dustin @1.69 versus  Gaethje, Justin @2.28
Blachowicz, Jan @1.88 versus  Pereira, Alex @2.01
Thompson, Stephen @1.67 versus Pereira, Michel @2.32

It's not that far so gamblers might have a hard time deciding who will win these matches.

This is for sure going to be a Bad-Ass of an event for sure for me Dustin Poirier is more technical than Gaethje, and has more tool to solidify a win, and looking at the 2 fights against Conor McGregor for sure Dustin Poirier will be the favorite here,

While for me Jan Blachowicz will be punish by those fast and hard hitting punches by Alex Pereira and looking at the recent fight of Blachowicz, he doesn't have any guard at all, that is why it is a big question for mostly on how did Israel Adesanya lost to Blachowicz, which is pretty much questionable,

Aspinall deserves a rematch against Curtis, it's just that Curtis still has a build that could punish Tommy. Gane may just be too much for him either but he seems fixated on it in his interview he said he wanted to fly to Paris. But due to his fight, his next fight could be more exciting.

Jan Błachowicz vs Alex Pereira should have been a main event.  Jan will take him down to win else, he'd lose in a standing fight.
Tom Aspinall is the fittest heavy weight we have seen a very long time and calling out Jones must of got him re-thinking about retirement. He can't back down from a call-out like this with the form Tom showed us all he is in from the main event weekend in London.

Now about the next UFC 291 event: They were thinking about having it for the interim title since it was vacanted by Jamahal Hill earlier last week but it seems they won't so it will stay a three round bout between Blachowicz vs Pereira instead.

I can't say I have ever seen a card like this where all the fights are must a watch.
None of the bouts are bad one bit and usual to UFC events there are the odd fights that you wouldn't care much for.
But for this one, there just isn't!

I will be making my selections early for this one and post the betslip so you can pick and choose why in the heck I went that route.

UFC 291: Poirier vs. Gaethje 2

Saturday 07.29.2023 at 06:30 PM ET

MAIN CARD

Dustin Poirier vs Justin Gaethje
Jan Błachowicz vs Alex Pereira
Tony Ferguson vs Bobby Green
Michael Chiesa vs Kevin Holland
Stephen Thompson vs Michel Pereira

PRELIMINARY CARD

Derrick Lewis vs Marcos Rogério de Lima
Trevin Giles vs Gabriel Bonfim
Roman Kopylov vs Claudio Ribeiro
CJ Vergara vs Vinicius Salvador
Jake Matthews vs Darrius Flowers
Miranda Maverick vs Priscila Cachoeira
Matthew Semelsberger vs Uros Medic

Dang! I forgot to post my bet and prediction for the UFC Fight Night: Aspinall vs. Tybura here, but this next event is another juicy one and could make another great highlight for the UFC, Dustin Poirier VS Justin Gaethje is one that is expected by the fans and the rematch is certainly needed on their 1st fight Dustin Poirier won against Justin Gaethje, but right now Justin Gaethje is a different fighter now, but Dustin Poirier shouldn't be very confident if he's going to win again,

We also have the Jan Błachowicz VS Alex Pereira where Alex Pereira is moving up a division well Israel Adesanya really takes a hard time against Jan Blachowicz and if Pereira could do this that Israel Adesanay did not accomplish then this will surely cause a celebration for Alex Pereira,

Tom Aspinall is the fittest heavy weight we have seen a very long time and calling out Jones must of got him re-thinking about retirement. He can't back down from a call-out like this with the form Tom showed us all he is in from the main event weekend in London.

For me even though Tom Aspinall has shown his speed prowess against Marcin Tybura I think he is not ready for Jon Jones to fight but there is no backing down now if Jon Jones wants a match he can eventually get that, while surely Tom Aspinall could surely want to shortcut things around, which is extremely not a good sign,

Well another stocked card for us, and this is the main fight for the UFC so yeah it has great fights that are surely a steal for us,

I surely think we got UFC 290: Volkanovski vs. Rodriguez which is something of a very stacked much juicy like this, well the UFC and Dana White are really spoiling the fans for sure,

That's 3 in a row.  2.70 for Stoliarenko that's quite a profit.
I was expecting Tom will adjust his fighting since he had an injury I was weighing his match will just be a decision. He is faster than before but now he is trying to feed himself to Gane. Whether a KO or decision against Gane. I think he can fight toe to toe with Jones.

Has anyone here also thought it was an early stoppage? There were actually some users who said so.

Thanks, it was all luck, but the analysis really helps a lot, well Stoliarenko was the woman and not McCann because of the grappling and wrestling of Julija Stoliarenko and we all know how Stubborn Molly McCann can be she is like Paddy Pimblett a stubborn fighter and I really don't like the two, and because of her stubbornness she can not make any progress at all when fighting a wrestler for sure, and she really don't add any ground to her fight,

Now Because this event was finished and settled I think it is time to move to a new one, and this is a more special and Juicy fight for sure,

Pretty much lucky I lost the Lerone Murphy VS Josh Culibao, well I really know that Lerone Murphy is a much more advantageous guy to make a bet on but because Culibao is a Filipino-Australian I have gone to him as a support, and I thought that he can submit a pure striker that is Lerone Murphy

Well, Tom Aspinall is really amazing from that injury and returning I was surprised with his speed and never thought that his recovery will be at 100% man I really want to see a rematch between him and Curtis Blaydes it's like there fight was not really Settled because of that injury and for me, Aspinall needs more fight before we can say he is ready for Jon Jones that is my opinion,

Here are the result of my picks for UFC Fight Night: Aspinall vs. Tybura

Tom Aspinall VS Marcin Tybura ROUND 1 KO/TKO - WIN

Tom Aspinall was doing great and I was really surprised by his movement he moves like a Light Heavyweight that is for sure and has given a hardtime against Marcin Tybura that is surely 1 amazing performance from Aspinall returning from an injury the speed and precision were really there when he fights Marcin Tybura, that striking output was really massive against Tybura, for sure Tom Aspinal is ready maybe a rematch against Curtis Blaydes, or taking on Sergei Pavlovich that will be a great fight to watch,

Nathaniel Wood VS Andre Fili ROUND 3 DECISION - WIN

Now this fight for me Nathaniel Wood is so fast his punch has some speed that Andre Fili can not anticipate however there is an error in his game that Andre Fili has capitalized and I think that surely has put some regret in him for not making the fight a KO win for him, but surely Andre Fili is one tough fighter to crack for sure and Nathaniel Wood is really expecting a knockout win but instead it becomes a Decision win, for Nathaniel Wood,

Lerone Murphy VS Josh Culibao ROUND 3 DECISION - LOST

Just like I have said Joshua Culibao will be having a hard time against Lerone "The Miracle" Murphy the undefeated stayed undefeated for sure, actually after this fight now I really think that Lerone Murphy is a real deal but I would like to see his against a grappler or Wrestler for sure while I lost because this bet is support for a fellow Filipino I already have said that Lerone Murphy has the upper hand but still I really want to not only support Culibao in this fight but to maybe Josh Culibao can surely be surprising at some of his fights,
