Looking ahead at some future UFC matchups that I'm excited to watch, I decided I might as well toss a few bucks in on a future bet.  This might serve as a decent gauge of how the odds on these fights changes over the next few weeks, but I'm already excited to see them.  The return of Conor McGregor and the next battle of Khamzat Chimaev, who I think is the scariest fighter in the UFC at the moment.  Might take a while before we find the results on this one, but I can't wait to see these guys all do what they train for.

Whittaker, Robert - Chimaev, Khamzat
Winner
Chimaev, Khamzat

McGregor, Conor - Chandler, Michael
Winner
McGregor, Conor

Too risky both both. Don't wanna see Dustin too aggressive in this fight by brawl else Islam is going to wrestle him. I watched that video as well. They are both well rounded but I don't think Dustin's defense on the ground is enough to stop Islam. It could happen quickly and before we knew it Dustin would be on the ground defending himself.

Dustin will likely win if they both stand so keeping the distance while keeping Islam guessing where his striking may come from will be his piece.

Yes, it will be two big fights. But I believe in my hunches, and it's time for someone to either defeat or show the path to defeat for Makhachev. This will be good for him and for the category to run a little longer, because his fights are very boring to watch, he just goes there and takes him down, and traps him and stays on the ground. This doesn't generate entertainment, it's boring and boring to watch.
Who knows? Your hunch might come true. It's UFC and unexpected things could happen.

I am watching this now while waiting for the next fight. It will be a long rest.

Just watching those highlights of Dustin Poirier brings shivers to my spine. Grin One hit of that could end the match. But let's face it, Islam Makhachev had also been upgrading his striking ability and he made that point against Volk so if he won't be taking this fight through the points system/takedowns, there's a chance we are going to see a brawl to happen.
Poirier on the other hand needs to be aggressive from the start of that bell. Don't let Islam get his rhythm and his reading of the fight just like what he did with Volk which was shown on that video analysis.

I'll leave my prediction in this thread as well. I really believe that Makhachev will lose, if he doesn't lose Dustin will show the way to defeat him and in the next fight Makhachev will lose. I really believe that this year he will lose in some way.

Regarding Strickland, I believe he will beat Paulo by knockout, the judges won't need to decide this one.

This is it.
I don't know, Makhachev is a dominant fighter and his record and performances show it. Yeah, maybe someone will defeat him this year but it will be a tough fight.
The odds now also show the difference against Dustin. I will not bet on this fight or I'd rather just go for other options like a KO, if the fight will be a decision, or if it will go the distance.

IMG

Also, look at the Sean Strickland odds. I think that is worth a bet because I am in good belief that he can defeat Paulo. Plus, he is hungry to get his belt back and revenge against DDP so he might end it with a bang that will show how dominant he can be and he just needs his shot one more time against the champion.

This is still far but the roster is really great that it gets more exciting as we get closer to the event.

Still a long ways off until this event is upon us as the other sports leagues are wrapping up for the summer break. So still have those to keep us bettors busy enough and it is a well needed rest for the fighters on memorial day long weekend where the UFC is headquartered in Las Vegas.

McGregor announced during one of the many podcasts he was on the other day, that he has something big in store for the fans soon.
Another world tour after his fight with Chandler perhaps?

Anyways, here is the video:

Just watching the weigh-ins for this event and waiting to see what she looks like @bbc.reporter
Checked the odds about an hour ago and seen her as an underdog so will also want to see what her opponent looks like now.
Of course the size of a fighter won't determine who will win with many fights in the past having them getting knocked out with all that roid rage. Cheesy

Surprised to see Barbosa the underdog in the main event by a wide margin.
Looking at his resume he is the more experienced fighter of the two.
Also the co-main looks good with Khaos Williams and he looked more jacked on the scale than almost every other fighter up there and yes even Ariane Carnelossi.

@rdbase. There is another fighter in this event who also has a very good body. This is the mannish woman called Ariane Carnelossi. Her muscles are very hard and strong very much similar to Edson Barboza and much of the men. This appears to be very much similar to Kayla Harrison's muscles, I reckon. Also, she is very much underestimated by the sportsbooks henehehe.

We can be quite certain that her breakfast is dinosaur meat.

Could of sworn we had discussed about Barboza on this thread before and look what I dug up from mid October of last year's Vegas 81 when he fought:
USADA had announced in a statement earlier than president Dana White intended they would not longer be doing the drug testing for fighters.
So of course this had made alot of noise by fighters in the past who were cut out competing in the UFC made their voices heard. Especially Mcgregor.

Edson Barboza had a photo a month ago showing how big he can get and at his age had people wondering if he was on the same training regiment as the Notorious one.

With the next UFC Vegas 81 starting in about 7-8 hours from now, there was a fight which had been scheduled to happen due to a controversial stoppage ending in a no contest was cancelled right after the weigh-ins:
https://cagesidepress.com/2023/10/13/ufc-vegas-81-loses-edgar-chairez-daniel-lacerda

The cancelation wasn't due to either fighter missing weight but due to a non-disclosed medical condition for Lacerda.
He is around 38 years old but still has a younger looking psyche. We will see from the weigh-ins later on today if he still looks that way.

UFC's Dana White CEO CONFIRMS end of UFC Apex Events, UFC St. Louis: Lewis vs. Nascimento results!
IMG
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCLFu02c7Dk

Finally! I agree with MMA Guru here. The Apex is becoming boring, we are not in the pandemic anymore, time to change the view.
FINALLY! Dana White Confirms NO MORE APEX? Female Media Caught Edging? Jones vs Miocic In November?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtldZtTlBRI

A lot of fans do like the idea of using other places as the venue for UFC Fight Nights some have mixed reactions about it and are worried. It's not the "end" it will become an occasional event in the APEX and I think it will bring more good things for the industry. This move of Dana might also help out in comparing if he did the right thing or not. Only the fans, pay-per-view, and ticket sales can tell that and he must wait for the results first.

It's great news for the company and fans. Therefore, having events held in other locations would result in more people consuming the event and bringing more people into the mix, generating discussions, etc.

Let's be patient about the changes but it will probably happen.

Not everyone can go to Vegas these days. They've been doing it a lot and they must have compared the growth in profits whenever they do it in APEX and other places. I'm not sure if there is a difference in fees for the fighters when Fight Nights is somewhere else.

Yes, I think it will be good for the industry. I think Dana has to start looking for local fighters in every location. In the Enterprise Center which is located in Missouri, he should have fighters residing there ready to be scheduled if they plan the FN in the Enterprise Center.

I have few guesses for this card, I really believe in Nascimento's victory, but it will be quite difficult and will probably end before five rounds. This is one of the few times that I won't bet on all the fighters or a large part of the card.
Same here @Pumared !
As I had mentioned before, I'll be only placing a bet on the Cortes-Acosta vs Despaigne bout.
Because this guy is a massive favorite so will be betting on the KO to get better odds.
And might bet on Carlos Ulberg but that is about it.
None of the other fights inspire me to place a big parlay for this UFC fight night.
My bet that there wouldn't be five rounds ended up being successful, but Nascimento's defeat was expected but as I bet on him I ended up losing. In any case, it was a good fight, Lewis adds another KO to his list. What he does is impressive.
Congratulations on your prediction but since he is one of the knockout artists now, I would imagine the odds were quite low for it not going the distance. I hadn't checked those odds when it comes to such fighters.

Cortes-Acosta was the shocker of the night where he taught the Cuban that knockout power is not the only thing in MMA if you want to be successful in the UFC. The dominican handed Despaigne his first loss with a good tactical fight where he had a takedown in every round.
Ulberg of course finshed his opponent in no time and as I said before is a uniform fighter.
