Pereira won't have such a hard time to make it to light heavyweight and actually would be better suited in that weightclass division since he is natural LHW. That is his walking around weight.
There was a video he put out on his youtube announcing he will be moving up in weightclass and has been stated on the well known source site below:
https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2023/04/former-ufc-champ-alex-pereira-announces-move-to-light-heavyweight-this-will-be-better-for-me

I totally Agree Alex Pereira will not have a hard time getting into 205 lbs and standing next to guys in the Light Heavyweight like Dominick Reyes and the Heavyweight Division Jailton Almeida Man if you look at these pictures Alex Pereira looks even bigger than both these guys pretty much I think if he would go in standup with the current champion Jamahal Hill this could be a devastating fight for Jamahal Hill now if the champion is still Jan Błachowicz or Magomed Ankalaev then I think Pereira would have to deal with those wrestling but against Jamahal Hill for sure the odds will go for Pereira here in my opinion,

I am also looking forward to The Carpenter fight against Rafa too. Just hope there isn't another fighter who needs to pull out due to an illness or injury causing a cancellation. This is getting to be the norm lately for these fight nights the last couple of months.

Well I only wish there would be a backup fighter even for those under fights just like the Main Event when Colby Covington is ready to replace Kamaru Usman of Leon Edwards, for sure that will be a tough fight for Edwards, Covington will be the favorite here for sure I am looking forward for this fight right now just want to check the fight night right now and curious if Allen can bust right through Holloway,

He really took that kid's mocking personal. Indeed he gave Pereira the fast track to get a title shot even when he only has a few fights in UFC. But this time Pereira will really take the hard road going up which if he goes up to LHW, a losing streak awaits.
1 loss out of 5. is a good winning week for me.
Perhaps Alex Periera will have a really hard time competing in the light heavyweight division, but don't forget that he was a Glory Light Heavyweight Champion (2-1). Definitely, Dana White will give Pereira a fast track to compete for the title shot in the Light Heavyweight because he's already established his name, he just needs to win one against someone in the top 5.

Next week will be Max Holloway vs Arnold Allen. The most exciting fight in this card is Clay Guida vs Rafa Garcia.

Twitter is overflowing with memes now after the win of Israel Adesanya.
But what I love the most is this slow motion thing that was done by whoever did it.
https://twitter.com/TylerDurheim22/status/1645225090362093568?s=20
You can see how accurate all the punches he threw after the possum strategy. Even the small hook/uppercut downstairs, while he is going down, hit the face of Pereira. That is a ridiculous accuracy and is even hard to believe it will also hit.

I mean, I didn't see that while watching live but now I can say greatness is really glued into this man.
Left jab, right hook, reload, another right hook with a left small uppercut, then hammer fist. He didn't miss anything at all and every punch is packed with godly powers.  Cheesy

Amazing! it was really an amazing slow motion you can really see the technique and waiting game of Adesanya when he will strike, I think the fear he once felt has changed into nothing but courage and self-confidence in facing this boogeyman, he surely admits it in himself that Alex Pereira is a Warriors but this is his story now and he is the protagonist, and What I see on Twitter this is a great and cold edit that I have seen packed with all the godly powers that you have mentioned, it was really Epic, here is the Twitter Video

Look at that the Mighty Arrow that will be struck to Alex Pereira, it was really epic, it looks awesome and at the same time I think Israel Adesanya will love this one,

hahaha overconfidence kills, I saw that in Alex last night, he kept talking between rounds, trying to get into Izzy's head, but Izzy was too smart, stuck to his game plan, set a trap for his overconfidence, lured him in, and countered.
Israel made us proud and showed the world that he is still a formidable fighter. Who would have guessed a KO? Israel did it for the culture. Perhaps fighting without the weight of defending the championship belt made him more comfortable to express himself. A lot of talk before the fight, but his victory has validated it all.

Anthony Joshua is back, Adesanya is back, Usman Kamaru should be the next to get back to winning ways.
There are a couple of more you missed but one more I can currently think of who is active in the UFC: Sodiq Yusuff
He congratulated Israel right after the match with a tweet.
There is anther one about Pereira's son coming back for revenge against that act after the match in anime form of course.

https://twitter.com/Super_Sodiq/status/1645555710984622081

Very funny stuff and Adesanya is just taking this all in stride and just laughed it off during the post interviews.
"If you can crawl we can brawl!"
source: https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/ufc-287-israel-adesanyas-post-fight-celebrations-come-full-circle-for-cold-revenge-155951859.html

The main media are just rolling with it and it would make a great revenge story ark for his anime studio when he retires from the UFC.

Damn more salt to the injury. Pereira must feel betrayed because of this. Chuck has been enjoying the party so much that he won a lot of money betting against Pereira while he is part of the team that trained Perera. But is the video even after Pereira's loss? Adesanya looks bigger these days, in this video, he seems skinny.

Videos like this are like a campaign for the rivals to really disrespect each other. And then there's one incident where Izzy mocks the son of Pereira just as the son did during the time when he lost against Alex in kickboxing.

Israel Adesanya Looks Buff in their 2nd match for sure because of the intense training he is doing, so yeah I think they are evenly matched but the thing is Adesanya really caught Alex Pereira off guard, well Chuck Liddell may have bet on Adesanya for him to party so hard like that, and I think the video was latest, and Israel Adesanya also said that there will be a party for sure, but surely I think Alex Pereira doesn't have a bad feeling about this Chuck is not his friend and is OK to party with anyone and make bets even on the opposite side for sure,

Yes, Izzy did a good job playing possum, but I think he was hurt prior to that with the calf kick. But then against Alex was to confident that he can just go and knockout Izzy, but as you have said, maybe Adesanya has played this part in his mind many times and so he come prepared with that quick right hand to the side of the head. And just like that it's fight is over.

Maybe we are going to see another fight, the magnitude of this rivalry is big.

Alex Pereira will take his time for sure he has lost with a knockout and he will take time to heal that punch to the head even though it is a 1-time punch multiple hit to the head is pretty much crucial, so pretty much any fighter will have to take a break even UFC will need to forcefully suspend a fighter to take a time off, but we will surely see them inside the Octagon in the future for sure,

Poor thinking for Pereira to believe that he will win a fight against a fighter as good as Israel Adesanya with the sam strategy he used formerly in defeating him. He underestimated Israel's ability to have developed from their last fight where he cornered Israel up with punches and there was nothing he could do, just like you said, Israel expected it and was ready. Israel knew the importance of this fight and was not just going to let Pereira win him again without working for it. I did not watch the fight but I saw some highlights and I say that in that last moment, It must have taken a lot of motivation for Israel to throw the right punch from a position of disadvantage, he really did not let himself down.

Good assessment Alex Pereira just underestimated Adesanya if he doesn't come up with another game plan to stop him, for sure Chuck Liddell and Glover Teixeira didn't anticipate something like this could happen and they didn't even teach Pereira some new moves or even wrestling moves to subdue Israel Adesanya, but surely both fighters will go with the stand-up always at the beginning of the fight for sure but the fight didn't go to the ground as expected because it is already finished in round 2,

Pereira was really heating up as he can feel all those calf kicks connecting. Then, Adesanya is actually acting like it is hurt, even Joe Rogan thought so.
But that overconfidence bites him back.
Like what others said, he just repeated what he did in their last fight, trying to corner Adesanya in the cage and punishing him there.
But it's different now, Adesanya came prepared and predicted he would do it again, in the first round Pereira already did it and he almost got Adesanya there, but the second round was a different story and I do believe Adesanya's camp saw it coming and gave him the right coaching to counter it.

Just when I thought Pereira was starting to heat up in round 2 Adesanya found the perfect opportunity to counter for the knockout.

Congrats to you guys who took Adesanya, even though I lost my bet on Pereira and my prediction on the BSFL cup, I still enjoyed that and hoping for a third fight.  Cheesy

It was a great night for Izzy because he had the entire world on his side. I've never seen a fighter so loved, and everyone wanted him to retain it, and he did..

Israel Mobolaji Odunayo Oluwafemi Temitayo Adesanye- this name carries weight he is the true son of the land.

It was really the overconfidence of Alex Pereira that destroys him and not really Adesanya, and Israel Adesanya were reading him like a book so pretty much Alex Pereira was still doing the same this just like their 1st fight and Israel Adesanya was aware of it, listening to on his corner, and it was really a successful plan, but I guess if this plan doesn't work there is still wrestling that he can still count on, at least that is what I believe in for Izzy's game plan,

I think their 3rd match will surely take time a while Israel Adesanya said he's not going to allow that rematch for a while and I think because the fight end up in a brutal knockout Alex Pereira will need to stay out for a while and needs to heal because that was 1 brutal punch to the head so yeah I think next title defense for Israel Adesanya will be Robert Whittiker or Khamzat Chimaev, And in that interview, he was talking about getting back on Pereira's kid when he lies down next to Izzy on their Brazil kickboxing fight it was a sweet revenge,

Here are videos you can watch for fighters that won UFC 287, plus Dana White's as well, he is talking about the fight of the night goes to Curtis and Gastelum, and the Performance of the night goes to Font and Adesanya,

The last four fights of the UFC 287 were truly entertaining. Watching Kevin Holland KO'ed Santiago Ponzinibbio was amazing.
But my parlay was broken with Yanez being KO'ed by Font.

Israel made us proud and showed the world that he is still a formidable fighter. Who would have guessed a KO?
Of course, the result of the fight was beyond expectations as izzy was in trouble when Pereira got close to him with a knee punch, I thought he was almost beaten the same way he was in the previous fight, but we were pleasantly surprised he saved a heavy right hand that Pereira had to fall from his attack. The fight reminded me of the Kamaru vs Edwards fight, Edwards executed Kamaru with an unexpected hard kick to finish the fight, so every fighter has a new attack strategy to beat the stronger fighter than him, they will seize every opportunity to get the right moment to launch an attack hard knockout.
