is this project still alive?

Afraid so there Jiggy0001

blockchians working fine, wallets working, transactions fast and some dev going on in the background.

And they can't boot us from Trex because we moved on to Cryptopia.

Whats your interest?

Hello,
I am liking Ultracoin and wanted to setup my own mining pool for me and a couple of friends. I know there are other online pools, I just wanted one of my own. Is there a step by step guide to setup a Ultracoin mining pool using unomp. I have tried using their guide and mpos's guide but they reference litecoin which is apparently different.
But any help with setting up a Ultracoin mining pool would so be appreciated and awesome at the same time.

Hi guys . Nice to see a small but growing community here. I had the time to read 90% of all of your posts ... and  I was looking for some alternate coins to mine ... The truth is that i need to get my investment back as i build up some 6x rx470 rigs , with a loan from the bank Smiley Stupid me ... i wish to be apart of something (even a small community , but to make my investment back as well Smiley)  ) . I am interested if you know , how much h/s i can get out from a 6x rx 470  rig because... i have 6 of these Smiley) .. and i reeally need to put myself on the road again .
I also googled UTC mining calculator and some info like that , and didn't find something useful (you should make something like that in the future to put it on the UTCtalk )
Thanks in advance .
       best regards

Welcome DjLittle! Well UTC prce is very low atm, and this coin have a lot of potential, 6 sec / tx is awsome. Maybe in the future with some developements the price will rise. I'm sure if the team will integrate masternodes (because this is the 2017 trend) with 2x intrest the price will go up. Glad to see the community of UTC grow. Cheers!

EDIT: Also we need more nodes and more exchanges.
Lose the POS. It's a death nell. Handing power and preference to people with the most power and money is what the crypto currency community is trying to eliminate. We already have a system that affords the richest and most powerful the greatest advantage. It's called Fiat. Myself and MANY other supporters will never be involved in POS Crypto's. They are a centralized scam.

Wow, you actually borrowed money from the bank to be able to mine, that is heavy duty my friend. How much profit have you been able to make from it and have you been able do make any downpayments on the loan from mining.

Thanks, I'll tweak my settings some more... I'm not going to run the miner from the link you provided, it immediately set off my antivirus and a quick search of the offending program name didn't net the "bitcoin mining software" results required to ease my suspicions

You should get over 2.2 kh/s/gpu.  Wink

You could try out this version also http://cryptomining-blog.com/wp-content/download/cgminer-3.7.3-kalroth.rar .

does someone have a link to the GPU miner for this? I seem to have lost it and all the copies of CGminer I can find dont appear to be working with this...?

Oh I'm not a newbie, I was around when the coin initially launched, I just left crypto for a while. I got the miner working again, thank you for the links... now my question is, is this average for two sapphire R9 270x or do I need to tweak my settings more?

I tried one gt710. Getting about 1kh/s and taking power 24w. You can get 1.08 kh/s if overclock it.

Thanks!  Cheesy

Hi

Are these hash rates from pool end or from miner?
Thanks!

I made one rig with one gpu  Grin (two years break). Waiting more information (GT710) and then I am going to buy more gpu's. Pool is working and no problems at all.
Seems that low end cards are mining quite good.  Cheesy

Scrypt-jane algorithm is really undervalued.

Valpe

Thanks for the info. Most of these things I already knew, I've been mining (heavily) for past 5 years.

Could you post some reference hashrate values for cards you own? Scrypt Jane algorithm is far away from the spotlight. With Claymore miner for newer algorithms you can't influence hashrate with some settings as it was the case with older algorithms. And without some reference values it's hard to say if everything is working as expected.

Edit: room for tweaking is very limited. I get around 550 H/s with -I 8 and 1.05 KH/s with -I 9. Still, with -I 9 some of the cards occassionaly give HW.

Rig with 6 x 270 draws around 330W from the wall, much less than 580W while mining Zcash.

This seems to be very strange algorithm. Type of card somehow doesn't affect hashrate. My 280X and 270 cards give same hashrate with same intensity settings. That explains why that tiny GT720 with -I 9 also gives 1.1 KHs.

UTC hash rates for hardware in my rigs (@ Nf = 14)
R9 270X 4GB: 2.23 Kh/s x3 ( -I 9 cgminer-3.7.3-kalroth-sj0.03)
HD 7950 3GB: 1.15 Kh/s x2 (-I 8 cgminer-3.7.3-kalroth-sj0.03)
R7 240 4GB: 0.837 Kh/s x6 (-I 9 cgminer-3.7.3-kalroth-sj0.03)
GTX 750 Ti 2GB: 2.20 Kh/s x1 ( t64x1 cudaminer-2014-02-28)
GT 740 1GB: 1.30 Kh/s x1 (k4x25 cudaminer-2014-02-28)
GT 720 1GB: 1.13 Kh/s x4 (t17x3 -or- t26x2 cudaminer-2014-02-28)

Also investigating viability of the GT710, as it reportedly hashes 50% better than the GT720 @ the same ~19W TDP.  The card is laughable for games/graphics performance, but has potential for UTC @ Nf=14.  If my test GT710 holds up, I will be creating some super-cheap 5x rigs.

These values are direct, per card, from the miners.  Pool rates tend to vary, but average about the same.

Will update when I get a GT710.  This may not be for awhile, though.  If someone else gets one (they are everywhere, and are not especially expensive), use the Cudaminer version referenced above.  For first run, let it autotune before setting permanent config, then experiment from there. Post your bat info (minus acct. info).

Is there any twitter account for ultracoin, to tweet updates of this project? I think this project needs a push-up, a new ann thread and a new ann thread (i see that the "Official Ultracoin Team" is inactive since May,20), the site also needs a facelift. I can help with some graphic design for the ann thread and a twitter account for updates.

Maybe we can make some promo, giveaways and such.

All other dead coins revived this year why this amazing coin with unique features dosen't? We need to gather some community members arround the project.

Hi Kiddo - yes we already have a Twitter     https://twitter.com/official_utc?lang=en

back in this ANN I explained that Rapture333 was to take back the lead after I resurrected UltraCoin from its slow death by bugged wallet - but unfortunately he was too busy.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.18844684

I'm too busy too - but I agreed to try and manage in a caretaker role until we had some interest from a new team.

Currently we have Java.dev working on the new light wallets with Rapture333 (Steven).  I must admit the progress has been slower than I had hoped for.  We have paid Java.dev for this work so I'm going to be DARK if it does not come to satisfactory completion.

When you see me (usukan) post - you should read as "Official UltraCoin Team" - its just that I have that particular login profile secured on a computer in an office in the South Pacific and I don't often get home.

If any of you guys want to join the team and help - or indeed you may want to take the lead - so to speak, take the reigns.  Please step up - we will be glad to assist with this.

Cheers - usukan

Thanks for your answer @usukan! I want to help, even is just spreading the word here and there about Ultracoin. Have a lot of friends over crypto, ahh and btw if you need devs or people to help come over thecryptochat.net you'll find a lot of great people and good devs over there. Cheers and power to the UTC!

Indeed the coin have some cool feature, too bad is dying... Maybe you guys can list it to novaexchange (where is easy to get you'll need 250 votes) and for this you can make a bounty. Also a slack or discord channel will help and also a tweeter account or facebook is helping a lot. Good luck with the project!

Problem With this coin is among other Things downloading the blockchain takes an eternity even if you download the zipfile.
It's gonna put most People off the coin.

Note the LITE wallets coming soon for Win, Mac and Linux.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.19408898

They won't require the blockchain download.

Very good release.Good job man.
