Every time I get pleasantly surprised by the resilience of the Ultracoin enthusiastic community. Unbelievable that UTC has been around for so long and survived every storm !

Go UTC Go !!!

UTC is the Phoenix

Out of the ashes
will rise the new phoenix.

A soaring being
returning from death
proving once again
that life is eternal.

I live forever
because the spirit
never dies.

I will return
in another body
in another time,
but it is me.

The me who is me now
will always be.

As long as I live,
I learn.
And I live

im interested how come you have all the user accounts for the UTC twitter/facebook/website etc if you havent heard from Steven as he dealt with all that side of things?

As someone mentioned how did you (paul) get the password for the offical ultracoin account without speaking to Steven? And where is the development pot that Steven had?Huh
I Appricate what you are doing, I really am but I think you are hiding what you know

Dear all,
as you all will remember, I was part of a former team that toke UTC over from bumface.
I was at that moment the “interim” leader.
After some short time Steven stepped in the team and profiled himself as the new enthusiastic leader UTC needed.
Steven took over all the duties at a given moment, and became and profilled himself as the managing director of UTC.
I disappeared into the background, did only give occasional advice when asked.
From a certain moment Steven was completely in control and took all the action and decisions himself.
From the early days, I had still the codes of some “UTC infrastructure”. These were never changed.
About financial funds or pots or any other official commitments etc. I am totaly not aware.
Since long time Steven was 100% in control of UTC and he did dent share any info anymore with me or other former team members.
Now, since Steven abended the UTC ship and doesn’t give answers anymore, to nobody, I felt last week that I was obliged to take quick action and get the ship back on track.
From that moment everybody can see and follow what happened or will happen on the forum.

Warm greetings,
Paul.

Please note this message also: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.13980591

EDIT:

One thing about Steven, we can only guess why he is absent for long time.
So until he speaks himself it is unclear for all of us.
Please don’t forget that Steven did very much for UTC, maybe not always the right things, but at least he did his best and invested a lot of private time and private money to the UTC project.
So to all : Because we don’t know the reasons why Steven left let’s not judge or condemn.

Let us forget the past and look to the future !

thanks sambiohazard - hey whats your experience level in this - any chance you want to join up as a Co-Dev??

Cheers - usukan

Great to see some activity!
Did Steven have a "pot of UTC" for marketing etc that we all donated to him? I can't remember . . .

Emerge - u r my new favourite person!

Is this 'bloating' a huge problem? Can it be fixed? Is this why the old team left maybe? As a none technical person I don't know

No, the bloating can't be fixed. Due to fast transactions, Ultracoin is very prone to bloating
Might either be a problem now, or a problem sooner or later. Not sure if there is a fix, but I think it will take a while for it
to be an actual big problem. For now we can still work with it. Smiley

I am not sure how much work or what level of experience would be needed but pruning introduced in the latest Bitcoin Core 0.12 release is a good way to at least circumvent bloating if not solve it. I think it would be a major rewrite and upgrade of whole codebase to latest bitcoin changes before this can be done. Mintcoin is upgrading there client from some very old version codebase to 0.11 i think and it has been in the works for last 2 months. I am not sure if this is due to level of experience or time constraints their devs have but it seems that it is a big task. Also latest bitcoin version has numerous speed ups which can be used in altcoins maybe.

Yes dear Usukan,

Off course i can transfer the codes only to one person.

This must be a trustworthy person who will promise to keep the codes safe to himself and promiss not too change the codes.
Everybody in the community shall understand that i can give the codes only to one person who is the new coordinator or is taking the lead for UTC.

I will send in a PM the first codes to you, the codes from this Bitcoin Forum.
Whit this codes you and I can moderate or update the Forum when needed.

The plan will be, in my opinion, that you are free to take over the control of this forum and get leading.
By that way you can update this forum as start and also can moderate if needed.

So from that moment I will go to the background as moderater of this forum.

Is that OK for the community members and for you ?

Warm greetings,
Paul.

Thanks Paul - yes things are starting to fire up - but its early days yet.

Probably the two immediate needs are to update the website and the lead page on this forum.  We seem to have the available community skills to handle this.

How do you want to handle passing over the access User/PW for these resources?  Do you want to send via PM to me?

Cheers - usukan

And please dont forget this, becous UTC needs also professional marketing after the homework job and the coding job is done  Wink:
