let's have only the best with uno. Did bittrex kill duo? Can we have a relaunch or revival?

and if we can get it back let's explicitly tell trex they won't be allowed to list it.  Lips sealed

A new coin needs an exchange that  keeps the market up even with small volume. Markets need to mature over time. Pump and dumps aren't interesting. Real markets need some time to grow.
Delisting like trex is BS - killed DUO, which was a good coin. Let's revive with bleutrade, cryptsy and so on and merge that maybe? We need a fair coin with uno - no premine, no bad surprises.

Look at aurum-coin for example. Such a nice brand - Big is nice brand too - but wasted to greed!!!
Finding shitcoins with nice logo is no problem but we should offer Uno-miners no shitcoin!

Lets get back to DUO - it can be easily traded at 10% - 20% of UNO price - in fact we can peg UNO to DUO with good trading - 5 to 10 DUO for 1 UNO ?

Or just buy more UNO and raise price and hash rises with it  Wink

Let's bring on DUO for real. What's Blazr2 saying about it?

Gonna flat-out vote against Big (Great name but) Massive chunk of the currency is in 3 wallets.

And: Crypto Prices in 2015? Suppose we add a 30-word synopsis, and copy and paste?

Ian and Mark: just can't figure it out -- but it will go hard one way or the other.

So basically, UNO miners get BIG bonus and BIG miners get UNO bonus as by-product.  Better a BIG bonus for UNO miners than something like WTF.   Cheesy

BIG thread says there is no network at all - we can fair launch a coin with ticker BIG any day.

There is also no limit for coins to merge, am i right? So why not just merge everything which can be merged?

Getting DUO back at exchange is maybe not  a bad idea  too. Let's have it all. Best would be to try to draw in fair coins as much as we can. Let's not bother with instamined, premined stuff.

RE: merged mining

scorecard
999 UNO has a growing collection of merged coins
011 the merged coins have a cool brand name / help create a naming theme
001 the prehistory of said coin
Have you heard the expression, "There is no 11th marble."?  1011 is your total.  Smiley

...But seriously, you sound empassioned.  I like that.  How much BIG have you bought so far?  I actually totally agree with you.  BIG is a great long-term name for a crypto.  It really is.  I also assume people want that merge-mining thing ASAP.  I have to defer my opinion to real miners, now, as I don't mine, anymore.  Mining is TOUGH!

I haven't looked at the BIG webpages, though.  I like UNO.  Smiley

FWIW, my opinion now goes with BN that BIG would be a good acquisition, if we took it over/merge-mined it in a fair, organized, and intelligent way.

I also think January is an EXCELLENT month to accomplish this.

Full Disclosure:  I still don't own any BIG at all.  May look into it, if more agree.

@BN, please excuse my ignorance, but is the point of merged coins simply to make it advantageous for mining? If so, wouldn't you need an identical blockchain for it to work? (To put it another way, doesn't different blockchains mean different calculations are required?)

Love to understand more on this point though. Any and all explanations appreciated! Thanks Smiley

No merged HASH utilization but separate chains.  The chains get co-mined.  I'm no expert on the tech details.  Now would be a great time for a lead dev to explain the finer points.

Yes makes it advantageous for mining.  UNO is geared to have very low rewards.  If we can also offer some side chains with high rewards then UNO has other attractive bonus points.

(Because we may be more profitable to mine than BTC but that will be countered quickly by miners switching in-then-out instantaneously ... and this price/hashrate/profitability DANCE repeats ... but could take days/weeks to oscillate up then down )

Having a good blend of merged coins smooths out the mining hash participation.  Because as UNO profitability drops one of the sidechains maybe in the profitability range, so miners just decide to permanently go to the UNO pool.

Plus if we have something like a counterparty or mastercoin attached to the network, they can add their 'clutter' to one of the sidechains and not the UNO chain.

RE: merged mining

The point is more to demonstrate that UNO is keeping up with the big boys ... BTC, LTC, VERT have merged mining ... well so to will UNO.  It is a signal that UNO is able and capable to do what ever the big boys do too.

I care x999 more that UNO gets some merged coins than what coin it is.  The only point I think that has any long term impact is the name of the merged coin.  That's the only dilution I can see.  Its nice to have some sex appeal and theme in the pairing.  'BIG' is about as cool as a ticker name gets ... and the history of the launch could be a complete scandal ... in 6 months know one cares ... they will only say cool or sucky name.

See the forest from a mountain top, rather than the details on any one leaf under a magnifying glass.

There is a very real possibility for SHA256 block speed 180secs to challenge the biggest of them all.

If that argument is to be made then UNO will have to have merged coins, a test net, and even an 'color coin / asset coin platform' attached.
It is a marathon not a sprint.

endurance, simplicity, scarcity and reliability are worth much, much more than only novelty in coins.
(it's new today but worthless tomorrow)
Coins that get their value only from hype and being the latest thing aren't good to store value longterm.

I see a gap in sellorders. When Mr. potato finally has his act together we'll be at 8 directly. 7 will be an issue of 10 minutes.
