if we commit to it
THEN un (will be) redeemable for physical (without out the lack of inventory problem seen in the USA)

why?  Because you can't back uno with silver unless you are holding silver.
(see coffee can in garden protected by our large feathered mascot) << that's what un is / distributed custodianship

my problem ... no silver .oz .999 acquirable in my neck of the woods ... but think of doing gold back offer ... .999 pure AU and easy to take (a hold of) a position.  I can walk to 3 gold shops from my front door.

But silver prices are still falling:

https://www.bullionvault.com/silver-price-chart.do

My guess is: stock markets have lost the plot (plus non-inflation precludes 'inflation-hedge bullion purchases') -- for example, Japan -- and that is 'pulling' funds from the bullion market.

Sure is good to see this as a subject of discussion.

Get silver in your hands and Unobtanium in your hard drives while supplies last (at these prices).

"Many traders seem to relate the price of Un now to the dollar"

The last 30 days have seen a steady rise in UNO price, even as Btc has fallen.

Accumulators gonna accumulate.

A little bit of a pull back from .005, where there's more willing sellers. This is a good time to pick up some more $uno in the mid .004's before the run up to .006. based on this month-long trajectory.  Very interesting to see the decoupling from Bitcoin price.  Many traders seem to relate the price of Un now to the dollar, which is in that $2-$2.50 range for the moment..

First tied to BTC, then to $, next ...?

Many traders will seem to relate the price of Un to silver

i don't know why but i have this images in a much better resolution and when i postet here they come out somehow blurry Huh
I believe BCT has some kind of proxy/caching server for images that compresses these images heavily.

@IMZ

'pile-in ad hoc' model will still be 90% of the method

The motion is to establish 'communicative nodes' and 'resources of suggestions to prevent congestion&digression'  ... so yeah the ship kinda has some officers on deck, so long as most all of the UN sailors grant them their respect.  Their is never going to be a mechanism of enforcement and all are free to go at it ad-hoc and in any direct if it pleases them.

Edgar's Problem: pardon my naivete: IMZ has an associate who is both a talented crypto miner and runs an award-winning professional computer data-recovery business. Or do you have such guys at your disposal?

Bitcoin National's Memo: I recently opined that the 'pile-in ad hoc' model is my preferred, but I bet I am seven tenths in agreement with the basic idea -- it sure it a step towards the 'consultancy culture.'

@edgar ... this is cryptoland ... even if that HDD is totally fubar there are ways to recover the keys   My suggestion is to turn off that computer and pull the hdd out (don't stress it any more).  Then take the time to fully access the situation and possible solutions.  Lot's of googling ... hell you might just be holding onto a very secure way to store and protect private keys.

also the tech help here is A+ // i think our collective brains can get edgar his coins

@everybody

looking at this from another angle:

1. this is bad luck for ed but an opportunity for the community to access their own UN storage security (mine shiiite too) but at least 3 digital copies and 1 paper copy for any serious stash.

Quote
dumpprivkey
<< learn how to use the console (on an offline machine)

2. this is an opportunity for UN company to create a data recovery 'UN enterprise' that specializes in very difficult HDD recovery services ... this is going to be a very BIG niche in cryptoland ... example recovery of private keys from a smashed HDD ... say it was compressed by a garbage truck ... and it holds 500BTC. If I am the owner said HDD I'd be more than happy to pay many kg of UN to recover the BTC.

.

so im being patient even tho just under the surface im FFFFREAKING!!

I don't blame you.
In the past I've used a Linux app called Clonezilla to make images of even corrupted disks, so if anything happens I can go back and try again. And again, if necessary.
You can get it on CD and boot it up on any Windows or Linux computer, and attach some USB storage to hold the clone image.
I'm sure you've thought of everything by now. I think V500's idea to use a pro service is a wise one.
Really, good luck. I hope it all works out.

when cryptsy was being slow to release UNO, i pulled out a total of 3800 UNO in 4 999 lumps.

that was the exact time that uRan was diminshed and uCun appeared.

since then my hard drive has faultered and 90% of everything i own is now in jeopardy.

'Day 4 of chkdsk /r /f C: has stalled... disk is grinding & clicking ;(

i have a few UNO left on cryptsy along with a few other alts...

Shiiittt, edgar.

Try to not to override the data. In case you can't get it done, if just the needle of the harddrive failed or some other technical thing it is very easy for one of these data-recovery-firms to bring back the data. Can be had from around 300$
Just to let you know there is companies specialised in data-recovery in case you need that. (use google, you find heaps)

Cry Good luck recovering your wallet!

4 days of disc recovery and no backups? That doesn't sound good. I've had a few harddrives fail on me before, usually most data could be salvaged onto another drive (put old and new drive in another PC) and only parts were unrecoverable. Are you trying to recover the whole PC right now (stuck in bootup repair or something) or trying to rescue data from the drive mounted into another system?  If the damaged parts include OS files the system might not be able to boot, but you personal files might be okay and accessible if accessed externally.

I wish I could be of more help, but I haven't had HDD failures in a while (since moving to mostly SSDs now that I think about it, hmmm) so my knowledge is kinda rusty.

exactly, trying to salvage it before going the re-install route.

it is seemingly stalled at 24% but it seemed stalled at 12% too, and 21% only to make progress while i was sleeping.

not just my UNO wallet either, ALL my bulk coins... only very few left on cryptsy for trading.

so im being patient even tho just under the surface im FFFFREAKING!!
