Uno has done very³ well.  But everyday in crypto is a battle.
Focus is on our strengths:

-Network 101; the community has demonstrated for years how to manage and maintain and improve network basics
_{There is NO DEV handling the daily chores, the COMMUNITY does it.}

-easy to handle block chain (try downloading btc or ltc chains n00bs) UNO is a piece of cake in comparison

-Hash Power!  AuxPow Tech

-simple math, there is nearly null emission inflation

-base pair trading

I would suggest this is a combination of creating a great association of Diehard coins and building distributed platforms for them to trade upon.  The method is via persistent communication channels but mostly via direct trading.

HINT, this is the element of unity in uno.  And there is a Greater Community than just 1 coin

Second part is prepare and promote the fact that UNO is "Simply the Digital gold standard that stores value", in fact the BTC 'sidechain' designed just for that case use.

How?  Each and everyone of us, UNO-tards, needs to design our own unique stock of reserves that support the base value of UNO.  

Back to trade pairs concept, BTC, LTC, ETC, and many more provide instant liquidity to defend value.  Now you can hold digital $ too.  Also, be old fashion, hold physical bullion in your reserves.  It maybe very possible to publicly 'prove' UNO has a base value of $X, under-writ by a physical [and distributed] bullion vault.

Wild idea.  Invest in cash flow enterprise.  Yet, crypto has not arrived at that stage.  So to be continued.

Last. Primary case use is base pair trading.  And I would state that a key goal is to attract 'wise' crypto investors to utilize UNO as their homebase to create their portfolios.

Back in Nov. 2015, I suggested a plan for UNO. It went something like, "Don't Die."

I can't say it was a great plan, but it was probably better than no plan. And so far it's worked. While a thousand other altcoins have died off, UNO is still here.

An expert in this article suggests:
"I don't think Bitcoin is going to die. Rather the better question is where does it stop?" Hoskinson queries. He articulates it will either become a universal payment system or simply a digital gold standard that stores value."

Did he say that a legitimate use case would be if Bitcoin were, "Simply a Digital gold standard that stores value?"  Yes he did.
UNO is perfectly positioned for such a use case with its extremely low inflation emission, fair launch, fair distribution, and by complementing Bitcoin through merged mining.  

While I would love to see an even more compelling use case for Unobtanium, until one comes along we will continue building this solid blockchain piece by piece, adding value to it through longevity, and any other means possible.

Better plans are welcome. I will gladly follow a better plan. For now, though:

Step 1.  Don't die.
Step 2.  Thrive

Step 1 is well under way, and step 2 is in sight.

Easy to imagine Unobtanium's story and community appealing to newbies as public interest in BTC/altcoins rising and falling with price action and other news/information. 

This is a good time to get it, imo.  I see good things ahead.

That depends on the distribution of your holdings and wether you consider going all Fiat should BTC make big moves? If you hold a significant part of your crypto-portfolio in altcoins, I'd definitely consider reducing that a little. No need for 100% BTC though IMO.

Personally I'm ~85% BTC right now. I moved most of my crypto capital from alts back into BTC over the 2016 pump seasons (used to be almsot 100% alts, no idea how I survived 2014 and 2015 like that, lol). I think I emptied every single alt wallet - except for UNO, which is now effectively my only long term "hodl" besides BTC. With this setup I feel pretty safe and prepared for any major BTC moves.

I'm not planning to sell my BTC anytime soon, but having BTC liquid is great to play the high-cap alt markets, or to long/short BTC during big moves...

Maybe we should add a history page to the unobtanium website that provides a in-depth back-story as to how far we've came and what we have went through.

You've probably read the same things I have.

"We provide a target price of $3,678 for Bitcoin in case an ETF is approved in 2017 and a target price of $551 in case it is rejected this year."

Its a big bet, but it could pay off.

Eventually someone will come along with a blended asset ETF and stock it with ETH, DASH, LTC, DOGE, and other top 100 cryptos.  UNO will be in the top 100 again by then. It could easily be there now. It would not take many btc to move the price there, since there is so little UNO on the market right now.  That said, I think our problem here has been the 15 ton Cryptsy weight hanging over our heads, supported by a frayed piece of rope.  

The price of UNO was suppressed in 2014 for a long time after the Coinex theft. When that ended, we saw a nice rise.  I hope we'll see that again after the Cryptsy matter is settled.

We have to re-tell the UNO story. It's a good one. It's interesting. It's a success story. Anyone who is going to buy into a cryptocurrency ETF can learn a lot by studying UNO.  
UNO embodies the success of a tenacious community, the perils of thieves, the impact of pumpers and dumpers, the benefits of persistence, the effect of low inflation on price and mining, and much more. UNO has lived long enough to experience it all.  It's not just a long, established, secure blockchain now in it's 4th year... its a historical record.
