Offer:  BeneD0007 - I have 11.8 UNO to purchase 1 DVC.

Should be open for the next day-and-a-half, until the silver market opens, again, on the Western Hemisphere's Sunday evening.

[ETA:  FallingKnife - you should sell me that shiny new DVC you just purchased.  Silver price is falling, man, and you don't want to be a DVC bagholder, do you?]   Grin

2. Offer: I will buy 1 DVC for 12 UNO*.
I wonder. Technically speaking you should be allowed to purchase a dvc from anyone who is currently holding them as the silver has been verified for the dvcs that are out there. I could also see it being traded only among members who have been verified as it keeps everything working "correctly". Thinking about it, i would say yeah, you need to be verified...
...Better for everyone as it is easier to call people out and do the checks and balances...
...DVC is a unique coin concept in my eyes. PoO (proof of ownership) type coin...
@ CragV: you need to do a couple of trades, in order to gain a Trusted-Trader Rating -- then you can 'Verify' (post a photo of your bullion), and thereby be issued DVC.
Very helpful and thanks for your replies. This is now more clear to me. I'll make a few trades here to get some reputation built, get the screenshot up soon and we'll take it from there. I really appreciate the thoughtful replies and ongoing discussion, thanks, all.

‘Kay, I’m online, hittin’ silver-bullion-price sites, checkin’ their posted prices. Go:

https://www.bullionvault.com/silver-price-chart.do   -- $US16.29

http://www.usagold.com/silver/silverprice.html -- 16.27

http://www.bloomberg.com/markets/commodities/futures/  16.26

https://www.kjc-gold-silver-bullion.com.au/ -- 16.30

So, four cents’ ‘drift’ on $16-plus?

Now Uno’s ($US) price:

https://www.coingecko.com/en/price_charts/unobtanium/usd/24_hours 2.71

Coinmarketcap – 2.71

Cryptocoinrank – 2.71

Woo hoo!!

Readers, of course, as a newcomer, Cragv must jump through all hoops; but he's no newbie: he's a long-term associate of IndiaMikeZulu. When you catch him on-line, ask him how many coins existed when he first started mining!!

@ Arkh: yes, welcome! We will surely come to love you dearly. However . . . you will need to establish yourself as a member of this community. (We already have one TT on 'Provisional status')

Un-Ex and the DVC Project are basically a sociological experiment in trust-networking. The only people who hold DVC are people who know all the others who hold DVC

Hey,

I've been lurking here for some time now.

All of that sounds really interesting, I'm going to catch up with the details but I'm interested to get some Uno & DVC pretty soon.

I need to figure more stuff out with nxt and its assets system, then I'll probably make an offer !

Have a nice day Wink

Arkh, welcome! Thanks for your interest in UNO and DVC.

Please read the thread to ensure that you understand the ground rules for trades in DVC. It is a system based upon trusted traders.  To assist in establishing your credibility, you can post offers to buy UNO here.

We are a very friendly and helpful group, so feel free to ask questions. That's how we all learn!

@ SirSmokes Although I currently do not possess any DVC, my vote would be that anyone wishing to trade DVC needs to be vetted by the trust system. If what we are building is a trust system, which I believe we are, then that should be a prerequisite to buy or sell this unique asset.

2. Offer: I will buy 1 DVC for 12 UNO*. Offer expires 24 hours from this post time-stamp.
*photo of logged-in bitcointalk screen with precious metals in foreground coming mid-next week. I suspect I can't trade until then (?), in which case please ignore #2 here. No offence intended and will post again in a few days!

I wonder. Technically speaking you should be allowed to purchase a dvc from anyone who is currently holding them as the silver has been verified for the dvcs that are out there. I could also see it being traded only among members who have been verified as it keeps everything working "correctly". Thinking about it, i would say yeah, you need to be verified. Eventually we would run into the issue of there being no silver backing the coins if they are sold to people who are unknown to be holding silver. In theory every dvc out there represents 2 ozs of silver. Another way to look at things is dvc is a place holder for your two ounce silver trades. If any lurkers are out there and still "wtf are these clowns on"

So if i were to trade to you, there are two ozs of silver that follow that trade. Now you trade that dvc to someone else, and they trade it to someone else, neither party is verified, there is no real silver backing anything, you are left with a giant ponzi scheme. Which i think is inevitable if this were to grow to great levels. It would be the most secure for 50 small markets to exist, doing the same thing we are doing here, than to have one giant one. Better for everyone as it is easier to call people out and do the checks and balances.

DVC is a unique coin concept in my eyes. PoO (proof of ownership) type coin. The entry fee, while not nominal, is something most people here could most likely scrounge together. It is a really nice entry point for people who might have a hard time getting into crypto, but have bullion around. I for one take no offense but would rather have a slightly lengthy process involved with verifying. Prevents crimes of opportunity from taking place. Why lock the door on your home when there is a window right next to the lock? Peace of mind! I keep reading it and i like it, i am not in charge. It is a loosely democratic process involved here with logic taking the drivers seat. Strap in and hold on  Grin

Catching up tonight after a fortnight's absence from my usual lurking here  Sad

1. Correct link to IMZ's preferred traders list: http://indiamikezulu.com.au/454/

2. Offer: I will buy 1 DVC for 12 UNO*. Offer expires 24 hours from this post time-stamp.

3. Keep up the great work, IMZ and all. This thread embodies the promise of crypto as I always hoped it might be, back when my CPU miner was spitting out 1 BTC every few hours. How things have changed!

@ DVC development and 'Global Mall Unobtanium': great chat with Ian about DVC's function. It will soon be a functional intra-community financial asset. That means we can use it for payments, which precludes UNO being sold on the market. Thus, the fact of DVC is a form of 'buy-support' for Uno.

@ Benefactor and Sirsmokes: about the accuracy of the ticker prices: you are right. It the blasted thing isn't accurate, it's worse than useless. We gotta find an accurate price-source -- at least agree on one -- before we go automatic.

@ Me 'n DVC: 9 sleeps 'til I can trade!!

Opps.  Edited Post #687 to cancel the trade by accident.  That works, too, I guess, but not my usual MO on here.  (Usually, I write a later post, which publicly preserves the time it was cancelled, if anyone cares.)

Me struggling with Net update.

I understand that we may occasionally receive assets from other Nxt projects.

All that matters are the DVC (which remain in our network) and a few Nxt for transaction fees
