.dogies guide is okay for the sp20

with my 4  the only downside to the sp20 is 1700 gh is hard to do.

to me if i built it and sold it I would call it a 1500 gh miner.

i would limit watts to 250 per pcie jack.

most of all i would optimize

settings for 175 watts per jack and try to see it do .5 to .55 at that watt setting.

i would use a fan that could go to the 30 setting for the under clockers

Thanks, temps are pretty constant at 85c, so it's worth a go (Ambient is about 20c and will only get lower as winter digs in) I don't want to up the watts so I'll keep a close eye on them  Wink

I'm going to have a go at underclocking my two SP20s over the weekend, the results do look impressive.

Set my two SP20s over the weekend to your settings philipma:

Fan Speed
40
Start Voltage
0.62 / 0.62 / 0.62 / 0.62
Max Voltage
0.67
Max Watts
180 / 180 / 180 / 180

They have settled down now, one hashing at 1289Ghs and the other at 1223Ghs ... I'm happy with that (and the sound level).

if you want you can bump to 0.65/.065/0.63/0.63   and keep watts at 180-190

check your Asic Stats page for temps
85c-95c is great.
100c -115c is good.

120 or 125 is too high

I have a weird issue on one of my 4 sp20's

if you notice my unit has 1 hot board here and I have set the watts low 179 . for some reason the machine goes way past my setting of 179 watts it pushes more then 213.

So to any spondoolies tech why does this happen?

here are settings

Do you have new photos Phil?
yes I do I have been cleaning and fixing the garage better.----- right now I have 4 sp20's and 3 s-3's under the movers blanket.  plus 2 more s-3's to the far right about
7.7 th and 5000watts in my garage

I used a cement tile board behind the sp20's for fire control. found it at lowes under 10 bucks

same blanket to muffle sound and the open garage door for heat removal

I am running 5000 watts and 7.7th in the garage temps are 89 f

stainless steel abounds in this photo

I can stack 1 more sp20 and 1 more s-3

20 inch box fan helps cool gear.

Is the EVGA SuperNOVA 1300G2 strong enough to power a SP20 full tilt? Or maybe even something smaller?

If you can keep the unit in a cold place.  The evga 1300 does 250 watt setting with zero issues.

In my setup 250 to 288 setting make my gear too hot.  But as the winter comes and I get colder weather I could do it.

This gear really wastes power from 240 to 288 settings.  So I under clock to 180 watts

Then I add an s-3 so the evga 1300  gives me an sp20 at 1350 and an s-3 at 450 = 1800 at 1150 watts

I'd say it should.

I have the 650 on one board and 750 on other. I think it changed my ip address. Don't know why. But I found it and was able to log in.

If you didn't reserve the IP in your router to the miner MAC address, it might get change.
To find the IP quickly, you can browse to http://myminer.io from another laptop or desktop on the same network.

Hi Gang,
Have a little issue.
I just got my sp20 this week. I had a S1 w/ fortress 750 psu. So when my sp20 came I clocked it way down so I can run it with my 750w. It has been running fine @ 1.3TH but today my fortress 650 arrived. I hooked it up with the 750 and logged in to bump setting all the way up, just to see what happens. It now shuts itself down every time I turn it on. The psu are still on but it seems its in some sort of protection mode. When I switch the powers off then on again the fan on the sp 20 goes on a few secs, then off, then back on (like the normal startup) off again, then never then doesn't come back, I've tried multiple times. Any suggestions? I was thinking I screwed up a setting and had to reset but how can I do that if It won't stay on? any help would be great. Thanks

if you have two different power supplies connected to the same pcb they will 'fight' eachother over any differences in the 12v (say 12.2v vs 11.9v) or ground signals. this would certainly cause  shutdowns/power cycling/damage to the PSU and/or sp20
