I am now locking the thread. I was asked for this several times during the past year, but I was always fighting against it as I thought that would be the right thing to do. Recently the thread has been having way less technical chat and almost only price speculation and partly also trolling. I am opening a moderated speculation thread as some other project have already did (XMR and DASH come to my mind), but the general discussion can migrate on to these places from here:

The newest forum for Vanillacoin: https://forum.bitcoin.com/vanillacoin/

or

The official forum: https://forum.bitcoin.com/vanillacoin/

or

The official Bitcointalk thread of john-connor: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--1064326

It was nice to chat with you here and hope you will keep supporting Vanillacoin in the future!

A moderate thread is worse than any FUD that are here.
It does seem that the dev team wants to hide or manipulate something.
Any unmoderated thread is like this, contains all manner of shit, experienced investors know this and that's not what makes a currency devaluing or it appear unprofessional.
A community does not need to be or seem professional, the dev team needs.
A community needs only be active and this it has been.
There is on op that is an unofficial thread.
I've known several investors who dump all their coins so a thread becomes moderate.

An example from another currency:

Sold everything that was left when I saw he started a self moderated thread.. thank god I did it

Okay, I won't fight for it.  I changed my link on Bitcointalk to go to the talk facts page a few days ago, but no effect yet on SEO I guess.

The last 5-6 pages is nothing but bickering, lying, deceiving and making jokes about elderly people. This is a disgrace. The #1 google search result is this? This is what people get to see first? It looks like a shitcoin by reading this mess and is nothing but a disgusting turnoff. This thread will be the death of Vanilla if it continues. I have no more words... Huh

John is right. This thread is making our coin look like a joke and unprofessional.

Yes, i read something in irc about it, to change for cpu & & gpu mining, because fpga isnt profitable due to New x4 increase in the price

For now you can also use fpga, but I think John is considering changing the algo to stop fpga farms soon.

I agree about SP's they are a much better way to generate VNL.
But adding miners is also good for the network.

Removing FPGA mining sounds like a reasonable solution considering the current issues with large farms.

Did John make a post regarding stopping Fpga mining in this forum or somewhere else?

If i may correct you Smiley, it isnt about profitability, but about fairness.. FPGA price has increased 4x since JC introduced FPGA mining and they arent manufactured anymore, so ppl already owning them have a major advantage,..

seems legit to change algo... Lets see what john have to do with that

Can someone tell me about ~ how many VNL daily mining with 3 gh/s?
Thanks in advance

  guesstimate:  <~40/day average, ~maybe 60 on a good day w/half a dozen GPUs

Can bitcoin mining ASICs be used to mine VNL?

Sorry to say it, but if you are asking whether sha-256 asics can mine whirlpoolx algo, then you are obviously not as elite coder/computer guy as you think and John made the right decision.

Yes you are totally right because elite coders and computer guys know such things by nature. They don't even have to read the whitepaper and stuff like that, THEY JUST KNOW STUFF.

I'm not eliete or expert but it is true that if you think a machine designed specifically to hash SHA256 is going to work on a completely different algo then ya you should probably know that right away.  But who knows, maybe some genius could get it working,  can you do it for us?

You can use gpu to mine it, but honestly for me its better to configure super peers (10k each one). And you are supporting network and no wasting so much energy like gpus. You only need 1 IP for each Super peer, and a wallet.

Im doing 300vnl each day with 18SP.  Grin Cheesy
