My only point was that the only place true proof can lay is in examining that code.  Any human language description of the blockchain's operation is by nature going to be a simplification or abstraction of what the code actually contains.

I disagree. Implementation of the design can suffer from bugs, only the design holds the true proof. If this remains in the author's head, then any claims about robustness or performance will remain just that, claims.

My problem is that you have been debating the technical possibility of zero confirmation transactions here since a few days, you have been online several times and I have redirected you to come on IRC 2x in 2 days, because that is where John prefers to answer longer questions.

Still you are here again, commenting, but I didn't see you on IRC in the last 2 days asking your question. I am starting to feel that you are not interested in the answer at all, but you rather want to distract people.

It is the code that describes it in full.  Not saying I understand it.  But the proof is in the code not in the description of the technology.

Proof is not in code, implementation is in code. It is very difficult to understand a full consensus system by examining individual lines of code, that's why we have things like whitepapers, for the proofs.

think you might of gotten that a bit wrong.......

The whitepaper describes in simple terms how the code works and what it does . This isn't proof , i could write some code and claim it does anything, but without the proof in the code, those are simply words . only proven true or false after looking over the code .

The bitcoin whitepaper for example, Show the code to an expert coder, they will tell you what everything does and how it all works together , proven by mathematically provable code. The white paper explains to people who don't understand complex code just exactly how that code works and what goes on.

Paycoin has a whitepaper talking about hybrid flex blockchain technology , explaining exactly what it did, Yet there was absolutely no code in the blockchain to back it up .

So are you saying a whitepaper is all you need as proof of something? cos in reality , a whitepaper doesn't provide proof of anything, it is the code that gives people the proof they are looking for
I can give you white-paper on time machine but it won't prove anything without the time machine. Cool

Thank you for your support.

For certain it is difficult and would require a really in depth examination of the code.  My only point was that the only place true proof can lay is in examining that code.  Any human language description of the blockchain's operation is by nature going to be a simplification or abstraction of what the code actually contains.

So I absolutely agree that it would be difficult to understand but it seemed from your questions that you might require an intimate understanding of the consensus. Details the type of which could only be obtained by examining and understanding the underlying code.

I am not at all trying to halt your questions, just trying to help point to where the answers might be at this time.

the guy simply wants a detailed description in whitepaper, not the proof, he never said "proof"

That's rather marketing and/or help for people who can not read or review the full code. I agree that the whitepaper could be more detailed since it's already half a year old, but John codes at an awesome pace and he doesn't really like to waste time on PR/Marketing stunts.

Please come on IRC and ask John personally on how the system works, he will give a short and straightforward explanation.

Jump on IRC, John is here if you would like to have a discussion with him.

https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.kiwiirc.com/vanillacoin

I just find it rather odd that the whitepaper doesn't describe the consensus process at all - for something claiming to be so revolutionary, it really should be described in full in the whitepaper.

As Jookly mentioned above, you can freely review all the code on github, trying to force a discussion on BCT without John being here is kind of pointless. It was mentioned several times here that John spends most of his time on IRC when he is online and working (almost everyday). Feel free to jump on IRC and ask away about anything that you doubt.

Else I'm happy about the technical discussions that take place here, but I would really encourage you to ask them directly to John since you seem to be really curious.
