Thanks for your reply.

I have four of these, and they only give me about ~ 90 H/r on ETH.

What results do you get?

Cheers

Hello, guys...

One quck question: is there ROM available for RX 480 4GB Sapphire Nitro (non ref).

I tried manually changing memory straps, but when i open bios in Polaris Bios editor, there are no such timings as 1500, 1750 etc...

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Apparently no one took the time to try to mod one of these as they are less popular than their 8 GB cousins.

I have a few 4Gb and I'm happy with their performance but wouldn't mind to try one modded BIOS just for the fun of it

HashWare - Mining solutions for everyone!
question.. so i flashed my sapphire rx 480 ref 8gb with the 32MH/s bios. and a few weird things happened.
suddenly the claymore dual mined detects it as a 4gb card.in addition i see max 30 MH/s and it is quite unstable. look for GPU0 for the results, the other cards are different cards.
any1 know what might be the issue?
http://
The bios you flashed was a 4GB bios.
Open it in Polarisbioseditor and change it to 8GB, save it and reflash your card.

thanks for the reply.
so i tried that, flashed successfully and it was indeed then detected as 8gb card. funny thing is that Hash rate became even worse. it avaraged then about 27MH/s and even dropped to 22 a few times..
im now completely confused for what could have caused this.. is it possible the card has some problem?
Not sure what bios you got.
The best thing to do is to do the mod yourself on a backup of your original bios.

im am not the most experienced one with modding bioses thus im a bit afraid to do it myself.
i got all the heliox bioses not from here (because they are down) but from some russian forum, ofcourse i cannot be 100% sure that they are the same but i hope so..
and i then used the 32MH/s bios(31.8MH/s)
perhaps you could share the original bioses from heliox?
I can upload my bios i have in all my reference 480 8GB cards when i get home later. That bios make my cards do solid 30.5Mhs @ ETH

please do, i would highly appreciate it, perhaps mine are faulty in some way or another..
http://www.megafileupload.com/c49f/RX480_8GB_Reference.rom

so.. somewhat odd news...

flashed was successful, but i get 22-23MH/s which is even worse than stock or just like stock.. dont rememeber.
also for some reason i cannot see the temp of that specific card on GPU-z. temp didnt show up even with other bioses i flashed.
same goes for temp and fan speed that claymore miner shows.. i cannot see it, for this and for the other heliox bioses i flashed.

p.s card has 85% ASIC

Something is wrong.
I run that bios on my thirteen 480x cards. Sapphire, MSI and Asus reference 8GB cards.
All do 30.5Mhs on ETH and 50+ s/s @ZEC
What driver are you using ?

i have 5 cards at the moment. 4x xfx rx 480 8gb RS version, and 1 x sapphire rx 480 ref 8gb.
i used the crimston driver installer 16.9.2 for all of them, also when looking for driver versions using device manager properties, all cards have the same version 21.19.137.1
Does all your cards behave the same way ?

no way to tell since the ref card has different bios then the xfx cards, last time i tried to interchange bioses from the xfx to the ref (was done by mistake) i bricked the ref card.

i  mean is this typical driver issue for a rig running more than 1 model of card?  perhaps i should disconnect all xfx cards and install driver only on the ref and then disconnect it and install on the xfx?
although the ref and the xfx cards are recognized differently in device manager and gpu-z. still what i dont get is why dont i see temp for the ref card on gpu-z, somehow bunch of weird shit going on here..

Anyone know why the gpu voltages are not in actual mV? Is it safe to just enter a value in mV? This is Mis rx 480 4gb btw, thanks!

You can enter mV values but they will be ignored. GPU core voltage is calculated at runtime in relative steps to its base voltage. What you will need is an offset either hardcoded into the bios using a hex editor ( complicated ) or a tool like Strixx or Watttool ( simple ) to load the core voltage offset at system startup.

I have just started using watttool to adjust voltages, in regards to the memory i should copy the timings from 1750 strap across to the 2000mhz strap and flash that?

That is right. That is what most people do. But for the ZCash mining, it is better to use the stock bios.

Can I overclock in Linux for best results, with stock bios?

And  if this is not possible, someone can tell me a link or post that explains how to do whit this custom bios from linux?  Thanks
