Social media is very effective to spread the word about bitcoin to all people.Using social media to get the attention of our friends about Bitcoin is a good idea but it depends on the type of friends that you have. If majority of your friends are not open to new things and like to use the mainstream then theres a low chance that your post will be noticed
Agreed type of friends will matter a great deal!
Social media is really a powerful tool and if used correctly it would be easy for our own friends to get to use use bitcoin as we have vouched
for the virtual currency to be legit with a real life examples like buying a book which would startup a chain reaction and reach not only our friends
but a larger audience

I posted on facebook about 3 days ago that i was so regret selling my bitcoin when it was 280 dollars and the price is 1500 dollars at this point, then some of my friend asked me about mainstream question "what is bitcoin?" "how to get it?" etc.. many of them are interested but i didn't recommend them to buy it, I mean i don't want to turn my friend to be a speculators that just buying bitcoin and hold untill they rich then dump the price. I really want them to use bitcoin as an real adopter using it as an currency, anyway i'm also using instagram like you op, but mostly my friends are gilrs they really don't care about it.

So recently I was using this app called Instagram (in case some of you never heard of it) and I posted some pictures & videos related to Bitcoin on my Instagram Stories (Like that day when the price goes insanely high and keep going til now). Then 2 days ago some of my friends suddenly asked me about what Bitcoin is & how could the price goes up like that. And I was surprisingly glad to know that I've influenced some people to get to know Bitcoin. And then I introduced them to Bitcoin and answer their questions about it, there were 3 people asking about Bitcoin that day just because of this 1 post.

I mean why don't we just use this power of social media to make people aware about this Cryptocurrency, well I know that there are already some people doing this (like those YouTube channels).
But what I'm talking about here is to us to post something about Bitcoin on our social media, you can just at least post something like your first transaction with Bitcoin and share your story on your Facebook or take the picture of your book that you just bought from the internet using your Bitcoin and then post it on your Twitter.

Don't be afraid to share your experience, you won't get hurt by doing it!(at least not now)
I really like your story. I'm glad that your post in Instagram will become a curious for the other people. I really appreciate what you have done. Because of you many there are people who wants to learn what is bitcoin and what bitcoin can do.  Smiley

Yeah definitely but people really need to be making more youtube videos about bitcoin. Right now the sort of videos being made of bitcoin is all about making money off HYIPs which are ponzi schemes or laundering your money. And that's not good for bitcoin because it damages the already pretty tainted image of this cryptocurrency of ours.

We need more people demonstrating what bitcoin can really do to benefit our lives, instead of making money. For example if you look at what Ben Perrin is doing on his youtube channel BTC sessions, that's the sort of content we need. Also, share bitcoin on FB and Twitter, etc.
A bunch of videos on youtube are poorly handled especially the ones on the first results when you searched for it .  And yes you heard me you have to search for it first .  So the point of posting in a social media where there are general kind of people is not just for bitcoin enthusiast is for awareness because you can't search for something that you don't know .  If you're a youtuber I highly encourage you to advertise it .

Using social media is a necessity for the development of bitcoins and other coins, as a factor in developing virtual currency. Although little is known about bitcoin, however, most people are interested in watching each other, which is why social media campaigns are organized and do not require any rules. On followers, they do not oblige followers who are interested in bitcoin.

In fact, virtual money watchers are always more privileged by managers, they are more likely to engage in campaigns, even, I've seen a campaign that requires followers who must be people are interested in virtual currency. It's really hard for everyone, but that campaign still works well, and the quality of that campaign is the best.

Great idea! I do it from time to time but I have never had a response like yours. Probably the people I connected with are too far away from the Bitcoin world and that's why I 'm trying to not overdo it because dealing with people who are not familiar with BTC there are chances you can induce a negative reaction.

But in your situation you are doing great. Good job!

Actually bitcoin is spreading like wildfire in social medias since I am a witness how people have been addicted to bitcoin in facebook and twitter. But just like you said if people will continue to share information on their walls then it can reach more people and will cause a tremendous increase in the number of users as well as a skyrocket in bitcoins value.

There is a group in fb that I joined in about bitcoin traders. It is where I get useful news about bitcoin and altcoins. It is like a help group for bitcoin users and traderw. I think that is the better way to use social media. If you are just posting about bitcoin, it will just hype bitcoin on new users.

it's good idea to use social media to share about bitcoin. Actually i've done that unconciously too though, like when i was doing twitter campaign and some of my friends ask about it. But unfortunately after i explained about it to them, they seem uninterested and think that it's difficult and complicated. i think it will be nice if my friends are like yours and that way using social media to spread about bitcoin is an effective way.

i have tried that but i mostly god negative response from all my followers. i think the most important part about this is timing. i did that in a bad time when price wasn't looking so good.

anyways i prefer more of a face to face approach when it comes to telling others about bitcoin.

In my neck of the woods it still holds true that people who don't know about it spam negative responses. As the cliche goes" if you don't know what it is it can't be good". To often people make themselves into monsters by assuming they should fear it because they don't understand it and I've found that this holds especially true for Bitcoin.
People automatically think that since it isn't owned by a large corporation or government that it can only bring or cause trouble. Such is the proven way in which the elites hold power over the commoners; do not as I do but as I say and don't even think about using your own intelligence to find out the truth! I think that people should think for themselves more and not just use the generic answers they've been told. "The best teacher you will ever have is yourself."

Natural reaction I see from people in general... even in this forum if you present something that is challenging it is more met with negative than positive responses. It is never easy to accept the possibility that something you don't have or know is better.

Well it's worth a try, Bitcoin and social media problem is the people on social media have a short span of 10 seconds per post. Secondly in thier very first attempt they cannot understand Bitcoins and litteraly term it as a spam. Thirdly then they will consult some person who's not heard of Bitcoins, have some absurd things feed to them and then when you try to explain it becomes a difficult task. What you could do is make a insta handle with Bitcoin name in it and copy a handle of course, get users and star posting that shall really help. Do post links if you decide to do.

well social media's power is unstopable in all fields, and you can use it to do good and also bad, good thing you made people realise the value in bitcoin
Social media is truelt powerful and convincing. As for now there are still new social media apps being created and used by many people. I think it is one of the many great ideas to use social media to introduce and explain bitcoin to people so that they will know how it works and how i can help one to earn.

Yes, social is a powerful tool to promote btc or any campaigns. people in social media alive, mostly are online and very interactive and you can interact with them in real time. Social media does not only include Facebook but also twitter, slacks, instagram and many more.

Arghhh! How do people manage to find issues with posts like this. This is a perfectly innocent topic with good intentions and still, people come with responses like "Well it's a good idea, But here are some problems with it.....".
No People. It's a good idea.... Period. Everybody is so Hell bent on getting their "constructive post" character limit quota met is my guess.

Anyways, I post to social media mostly to promote BTC offers and websites but I like to add a good old fashioned P2P comment in between.
OP. There is nothing wrong with sharing your experiences on social media. I've met and introduced Bitcoin to complete strangers that sent me DM on Twitter asking about it and how to get it etc. I've even made a few friends too.

~ (Like that day when the price goes insanely high and keep going til now). Then 2 days ago some of my friends suddenly asked me about what Bitcoin is & how could the price goes up like that.~

bad bad bad, terrible thing.
you are just bringing in more speculators, more people to just invest in, more people who are going to think bitcoin is a "get rich quick scheme" where they can just buy some now at lets say $1550 and wait a couple of weeks to become millionaires while price goes to $10000.
and i am speaking from experience.
when you show price to new people and only talk about rise and how we are going "to the moon" they will expect that from bitcoin. and believe me that they will want their money back from you when price goes down from $1550 to $1549 and stays there for a week.

p.s. try telling them about bitcoin as a currency first, and profit/price second.
