wow there is some panik in the coin world

just recievd this:

Bitstamp Support
Bitcoin withdrawal processing suspended
Dear Bitstamp users Bitstamp’s exchange software is extremely cautious concerning Bitcoin transactions. Currently it has suspended processing Bitcoin withdrawals due to inconsistent results reported by our bitcoind wallet, caused by a denial-of-service attack using transaction malleability to temporarily disrupt balance checking. As such, Bitcoin withdrawal and deposit processing will be suspended temporarily until a software fix is issued. No funds have been lost and no funds are at risk. This is a denial-of-service attack made possible by some misunderstandings in Bitcoin wallet implementations. These misunderstandings have simple solutions that are being implemented as we speak, and we're confident everything will be back to normal shortly. Withdrawals which failed on the 10th and 11th of February will be canceled and the amounts added back to the customer account balances. We will communicate any further developments regarding this issue. Thank you for your understanding! Best regards Bitstamp team

I actually wish I had a few BTC right now to bust through these walls and get the price manipulators out of the game.

Wow someone is really trying to kill the price of VTC. Every time it starts gaining a wall appears on the sell side... Sad

Instead of speculating about the potential motives of people selling, I'd suggest just treating this as an opportunity to buy with a capped price - I wish someone would put a big sell wall up every time I wanted to buy!

I agree but I'm tapped out. Currently sitting on 2k VTC I can lower the price right now but there's not much I can do to raise it Smiley

Is this perhaps someone supporting a clone of VTC keeping the price low to make small investors lose interest in VTC?

There was lots of bot trading going on today, plus low volume in the market. All good. VTC keeps trucking on Smiley

Ain't no party like a Counterparty!
I have a few questions about mining. So i've been mining off and on for a few days now on Boristhespider's pool. Prior to this week I've never mined before. I just have a few things i'd like to know.

1. Does it pay to stay at the same pool for a long time or do people ever switch to different pools and is it beneficial or harmful to for example be at one pool one day and another another day?

2. For a person like me with a mid range video card 7850 2gig, I get 153 kh/s (154 WU) mining is there a specific type of pool that i should be at? I see people talking about different types of pools like p2p etc..

3. Is it to my disadvantage to be in a pool with people who get 100,000 kh/s ? I look at rankings and see top contenders getting epic levels of hashrate and can only imagine they are using clusters or something for their workers, does this limit my shares or coins at the end of the day or does this actually have no bearing on someone like me at all?

Is it profitable to mine VTC with CPU?

Nope

My CPU gets about 1% of what my GPU does. I've not checked the incremental power cost yet. Agreed, its probably more than 5W so reduces my return.

what's going with the price of VTC and the hashrate. Some attack by another coin or what; mining all the coins to dump?
