At this point in time we are not changing the mining algo. If we were to change the algo it would be a completely new algo, not one used by anyone else.

In order to decentralization, I suggest change the mining algorithm to lyara2Z,that is  successful in the ZeroCOIN,
because power consumption of the existing lyra2re2 algorithm is too high,
and concentrated in big farm miners, and the very powerful machinegun pool is a risk for network security,
lyra2Z has low power consumption advantages compared with lyra2re2 ,
As Lyra algorithm in the VTC heritage
it is highly recommended to switch to the lyra2Z algorithm

Vertcoin is a good coin by nature but since few years just some dev was done to make pump and dump 

Moreover Segwit seems to be patented by Blockstream ^^

HELLO everybody , i am new with this Vertcoin and just few days ago i decided to invest a little in this altcoin . soo ...i decided to test the network first .   Here come the first issues

1. I've dowloaded the last version of the wallet  - vertcoin-v0.11.1.0-windows-64bit.zip  - i've seen the post "Mandatory Wallet Upgrade- SegWit   UASF on 31st May 2017 etc ..."  Is it to early to do so ? i am asking this because this version of wallet does not want syncronise with the network , it is running by 2 hours and still no progress, keep showing me "3 years & 16 weeks behind "     , yet , as per https://bchain.info/vtc/ the blockchain is only 1.38 gb .     what am i doing wrong ?

2. When i go to  https://vertcoin.org/wp/stealth-addresses/   , i can read somewhere  "Vertcoin, as well as many other cryptocurrencies, has a public ledger known as the blockchain. Every Vertcoin transaction since the creation of the currency (and its blockchain), is stored in the blockchain. The blockchain is freely available and visible to everyone. You can access a blockchain explorer HERE .  When i click 'HERE' , they are sending me to
http://ww12.thisisvtc.com/ , wich is not the blockchain explorer , it's kind of commercial site with adds .

edit: while i wrote this post , at point no1 , i see now a progress but still to slow ....from '3 years & 16 weeks behind" , now to 3 years & 15 weeks behind ' ..... and this after 2 hours.

And Vertcoin has passed the point of no return on Segwit activation.  Congrats

   I just went through this a few weeks ago.  All I can remember is there was a lot of swearing....    Wish I paid more attention.  There is enough info out there to do it. 

And 400 VTC is a fair bounty to document the process.  I might come back around to it. 

I don't think any logic was put into calling it "totally fukk upp". The market cap in November 2016 was around $800,000 and the coin was worth about $0.028. Look at us now.

Please explain how the coin emission is "totally fukk upp" - it's 50 coins per block at the moment. At block 840,000 (around Dec 2017 - Jan 2018) the emission will be 25 coins per block.

I think the only "fukk upp" here is your trading decisions

Ive fixed it by selling my shit. Of course, I can be wrong and ai was wrong, because i sell my shit too low... but i dont see any interrest in buing it back. Sold my "vietcoongs", sold my bitcoins, buy some vodka & beer &become happy citizen .

We still need guides made if anyone is interested in earning 400vtc ( around $50usd currently) per guide
"How to" mining guides. Needs to be step-by-step and Include pictures or can be a video.

Linux/Ubuntu Nvidia

  At the time I wrote that, we had found 1096 of the 2016 blocks in the period, that is a little over 50%.  That page is where I got my info.  Again, if you looked at that page after the first block was found in the period, SegWit would have been either 0% or 100%.  Because your just looking at one block.  The SegWit average over the 2016 block period has to be over 75% to activate.  The current average is over 85% which is great, but we're still not 100% out of the woods.  Currently the no SegWit miners are around 15%.  If some one really wanted to stop Segwit they still could, but they would need to increase that 15% hash rate to over 40%.   

How would you go about fixing that ?
