Thanks for your suggestion guys. I try chrome mobile and rotate my phone to horizontal, it has better look. It's still hard to move around forum, threads, posts and pages.

I was even having this taught About Bitcointalk forum, as in the side of (activities) one can't delete several or multiple activities at a Go! Just like that of messages you can tick up the ones you want to delete and once done you click delete all and it's gone but on the activities you can. I want this action to be included.

Have been making use of my mobile on this forum, over 3 years now i think the idea you want to pull up here is https://bitcointalk.org forum should have a mobile App whereby the view should be readable. I make use of the zoom in and zoom out always to read which is a little complicated but use to this method.

Hi all. I surf forum on my phone and it does not auto scale. It's very hard to read. Seems that forum does not have mobile version?

Better not to trust any third party apps or add-on as it would and can somehow contain a script that knows your account's username and password and even risk your privacy.. Just keep using and using your phone accessing the desktop version of the forum because soon you'll get used to it. yet as far as i know opera browser would rescale the forum to fit onto mobile device view. Check it out!

No idea, try clearing data of app, restart your net connection or smth.

Tried switching between WiFi and cellular, clearing the cache, no dice.

Works fine on Brave and Opera though.

@DroomieChikito: Kiwi has ads enabled by default so there was no ad-blocker installed.
Code:

Well, no idea then it works fine on my end.

If you are on android, use kiwi browser, it automatically scales down so you don't have to zoom in/out,
I tried to installed and look the same as others.

Not sure why, but Bitcointalk kept closing the connection whenever I attempted to access it on Kiwi...
or try to turn off the built-in ad block

It would be interesting to know how many more users there would be, or how many would stick around, with a proper mobile interface or app. It must be a sizeable number. Billions of people only have a phone for internet usage. If that was my one and only option I couldn't take being here.

Actually there's no need for an app, a responsive theme is all it takes.

Having to switch between an app and the browser is kinda bothersome IMHO. Then there are lots of phones which don't support the double-tap or gestures to seamlessly go back and forth.

There is no official mobile App, and honestly, I would not provide my account access to any of the few unofficial attempts at creating one either. The topic is raised every now and then
Yeah, I don't access bitcointalk that much on mobile anymore but I wouldn't use one of those unofficial apps/mods/whatever.  And yeah, there's been quite a bit of discussion about this topic.

And the discussion is not without merit, either.  It would be a nice, modern touch if Theymos would make the site mobile-friendly, and it's puzzling to me why he hasn't done so.  I don't mind what others say is an outdated look to the forum, but making a website that looks and functions better on smartphones seems like something that should have been done a long time ago.

See? Mobile users are very important to maintain ever since smartphones become the norm. Even Google prompts me to consider setting up AMP for them on my website because they play a huge factor in UX and website ranking.

You can say desktop reigns supreme but we can't bring them outside. And you can forget laptops and tablets because they're still cumbersome to carry around or stick into the pocket respecively.

Using a desktop is still the best option because we read, type, quite a lot. Big phones are always an advantage to use when it comes to this kind of website.
A forum is most likely is reading a lot of information we already expect that the only option is to get a bigger phone. Just my option but we might need to create a reliable mobile version to get a better experience but even if we did a small phone is still a small phone.

Sure a bigger screen does help of course, but it's not the only solution. The Reddit app I'm personally using, Relay, is GREAT in terms of UI and UX, even though I could also be viewing huge walls of text.

After agonising research in the past, the best solution i opted in mobile was UC Browser (+3 years tho?). There is a scale option whenever i zoom in or out. It may look awkward the first days but once you get used to it, things gonna be ok. I just use it for bitcointalk and it is safe.

If I had to use the full version of this forum on a phone with manual scaling I would have to end it all. Quoting is fucking unbearable. It can take nearly an age to trim a quote and I usually hit the wrong button somewhere and have to start again.

This. The worst when it comes to multi-quotes. You scroll to the OP and the pointer just zooms all the way back up.

For security reasons on the other hand, I don't like installing mobile apps. Even though I only store a small amount of Bitcoin in my mobile wallet, I keep my phone as clean as possible.
I agree with you. Phones should be kept as clean as possible. It is especially important for crypto investors. Risks and hacks are existing and can happen anytime (with banks, crypto, etc.) but with crypto investors their clean condition of their phones should be maintained. There is no one is responsible to recover our crypto back if our devices got hacked or compromised.

Before online banking, you needed to download a program on your PC to dial in to the bank. I never used those, and they were all replaced by online banking through the bank's website. But for mobile devices, many companies are moving back to having customers download and install software again. Needless to say, I don't use those either.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced some curious and likely stupid people installed some newborn softwares. They put themselves at risks by installing such apps.

Some banking apps actually incorporate the security keyboard and offer better functionalities such as paying credit cards.

But then some also ask for access to Files and Storage which makes me go WTF. Maybe for downloading statements, who knows.

Totally. Most apps are really unnecessary as you can have pretty much the same experience on a well-made website. I'm just trying to look through the lens of a casual(non-tech geek) person. This might sound crazy to most of you, but I actually know some people who refused to use certain services just because they don't have an app. Even though they have a decent responsive website. That was the day I realized how seriously platforms should focus on UX.

On a second thought, I don't think Bitcointalk having an app is going to be totally unnecessary. Potential privacy issues aside, having an official Bitcointalk forum app on the Android PlayStore and the Apple AppStore could probably give Bitcointalk a decent boost in traffic.

I don't know what's the problem in using the forum as it is? Just because we need to scale it ourselves makes it bad for the forum and arises need for an Android app? I've been using the forum since around 2013 on my smartphone only and had since been happy. It's a different story that the type of happiness the forum derives in my mind while being used through a OnePlus 7T makes it a whole new experience against how I used it in my Lenovo K6 Power. Still, it just takes 2 fingers to stretch the screen and minimize the stress while looking at the posts here.

Then you're a better man than I.

I've come across quite a few people who only do it through mobile. I've no idea where they find the patience. It's almost always PC for me.

Like it or not, people are more inclined to use a platform if it has a mobile app for convenience reasons. It's the exact reason why most big platforms has their own native apps. People have simply been too spoiled by platforms with great UI/UX(like all social media apps). While I also find an app unnecessary(a responsive web design should suffice), Remember that people here who find apps unnecessary are only a small minority.

To be honest I don't feel I need bitcointalk as mobile version. And I don't feel any problem with.  And really I feel as desktop when I visit bitcointalk by using my mobile phone. All things are showing as desktop/pc. Just need manually zoom the screen where need to read. But when I tried to visit with unofficial mobile version by helping any other browser I see it lost its main structure and become little bit hard to find quickly all board /sections since I am accustomed with desktop version .

A real mobile version is not (yet) available. But I must honestly say that I don't have any problem with it meanwhile.
For me iPhone/Safari works well and with practice even quote/formatting works quite well. But of course a real solution would be an enrichment Smiley

Another vote for Opera mobile. It does a really good job of scaling on the fly, usually catching up in fractions of a second when you zoom in.

Most of the time I use this version for mobile https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?;wap2 but when you need to quote then it has to be the full fat version. No way could I ever use the full version of the forum on a phone without Opera.

Not having mobile version sucks, but there are applications now that can convert these older sites into a mobile friendly format

Are you sure that these aren't your phone's problem? Before I had an S9 my Galaxy S4 was working perfectly when I'm using it for surfing Bitcointalk even without ticking anything about viewing the desktop version of the site. Maybe if you have a phone that has lower than 1080p resolution or a browser app that isn't good makes BCT bad on your browser?

After spending little more time here you will start to love its current desktop version and i hope small font will not be a big issue for you. Personally i always prefer to use laptop/desktop for bitcointalk and current desktop view is enough responsive for me. Yeah you can get the experience of mobile view with unofficial apps but i will not suggest you to use that due to safety reason. Just by zooming little bit you can easily surf here and hopefully thats much safer for you Smiley. Before getting official apps i think i can put some extra pressure on my eye lens.

If i am not wrong then you will give priority to your account safety rather than taking new experience with mobile view.

I personally use Opera Browser on my android phone to surf bitcointalk and has decent scaling (10 times more readable that Chrome for example). Must have something similar to 100vw (100% viewport width) for post container... feature that grew on me Smiley
Also has a built-in VPN so depending where you are and what internet connection you have might be slightly slower but clearly much more readable.
This is what it looks like:

Actually I also didnt really like exploring forums using phone at first. That makes it difficult for me to read because the writing is very small. But because of the limited time to continue to be in front of the PC, I still have to use my phone and access the forum every time there is free time and now I have started to feel comfortable even though sometimes the internet connection is very slow and annoying.

Several times I was also advised to try an unofficial application to access the forum, but I think it would be very risky and I prefer to use a phone without the help of an unofficial application and its safer.

The next version of Bitcointalk, the more modern and responsive one(not an app, just a better forum software), is still on the works. If you want it to be implemented sooner, you might want to help out in testing EpochTalk: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/epochtalk-is-ready-theymos-wants-us-to-test-it-cmon-5114336

At the mean time, you can try out the unofficial apps. Just proceed with caution.

This is how bitcointalk.org looks like on a mobile phone
Isn't it ironic that Bitcointalk has no mobile version?
