We've seen this before. Capital controls result in desperate buys to get fiat off exchanges.

Once again, bitcoin goes up in price for all the wrong reasons.

I hate how Gox takes the fees out after the transaction and does not add them into the purchase/sale preview. Its like, "Surprise! We just subtracted $20 from your sale."

Just an observation. I do not claim to be in their heads, to be sure, all I am saying is perhaps we should tread carefully and make sure to take some profit on the way up in case we get royally screwed at the end of this. I wouldn't sell to day-trade, but I have sold some to make sure my children have a real nice Christmas. If it goes up, so be it. I'm not going to get greedy.

Yep, I've sold off the money I've made trading altcoins. I'm still holding my initial BTC investment though.
But as it stands right now, thanks to the additional profits from alts.. I'm actually freerolling now. Bitcoin would have to hit a negative value for me to start losing money. That is - I've already sold off for more than my initial investment.

I think there is a very real possibility that all the big players (that would be willing to get in at all) we're hoping to get in and jack up the price got in at the $150-$250 range, and now all the good news is designed to set up some bag holders when they inevitably sell out.

Maybe, maybe not, they have lots of capital, maybe a bit more than you realize. Their idea of jacking it up might be dropping 100's of millions at a time on it, day after day. I don't believe that's exactly happening, yet, especially how inefficient is our infrastructure.

Yes, agreed. I've been overly conservative, selling and buying back too often, missing on the huge gains, learning how great strong hands are with Bitcoin. Still, I'm very pleased with my returns. Beats everything else, IMO, and by a long shot.

I'm looking forward to buying some acreage and building a sustainable home of straw and rammed earth. In some ways, like others here, looking forward to a modest life (I'll be wanting to borrow Goat's tractor probably)

hey, get in line buddy...lol

one should worry if it doesn't pass 1100 by tomorrow, support would become resistance and the tide may turn. i'm 50/50

Almost like 1100 is bumped down, and now acting like the 1240 barrier.

Thank you. Yeah, I hear ya-- I think many of us have the log trendline in the back of our minds and imagine a retracement that might occur too quickly. Instead, media after media report continues to roll forward, including the amazing first analyst coverage on the street (which, of course, by its nature, the analyst coverage green lights big money to get aboard), and we continue skyward, often making daily returns that most people would kill for on an annual basis. It's not easy to parse it all out.

It's wild man. Living the dream, aren't we?  Cool

Yes, it's totally wild-- my older brother is a course 6 from MIT and he hasn't even invested in it (I'm going... bro, wha?). I think it just takes people a little longer to grok the capacity of the protocol. Truthfully, I'm looking forward to buying some acreage and building a sustainable home of straw and rammed earth. In some ways, like others here, looking forward to a modest life (I'll be wanting to borrow Goat's tractor probably)... Ha, but, yeah, this moment is unbelievable.  Cheesy

yes
This is 8 day in row that we have been over 1000 USD at stamp. All the bears out there, don't you realize how bullish this is? Example in april we were just 2 days over 200 USD. We are building here a magnificent rocket launch pad.

It is major double bottom if it holds...  Cool

I agree with this and I believe it's overpriced currently by about $400.

You can't argue with the numbers. Also looks like we are coming out of a double bottom.

Did you intend to say 'overpriced'?

Yes. I realize it's contradictory to the rest of what I wrote.

I should say emotionally I feel it's overpriced, logically it appears to be underpriced, at this moment anyway. It's hard to fathom the ramp to $1000 holding like it is, when that ramp happened so quickly. I haven't quite adjusted to the new valuation.
