Silk Road down due to DDOS:

Quote from: Dread Pirate Roberts
-UPDATE (04/24/2013 0714 UTC): "The downtime of the past couple days, and especially the past 24 hours has been confirmed to be due to a deliberate attack from what appears to be an individual. There appears to be no security breach, only disruption of availability. The attack appears to be DoS in nature and is likely an exploit at the Tor network level. The site will be down or very slow until a solution can be found, which we will work tirelessly to find. Thank you for your patience." http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=151563.0

-UPDATE (04/24/2013 1647 UTC): Nothing new to report, but I just thought I'd let everyone know that I am still here and we're doing everything we can to put and end to all of this. I'm really proud to be a part of this community. You all have been showing your class through all of this.

-UPDATE (04/24/2013 1222 UTC): We are starting to get a handle on how the attack is being run. It will likely take many hours to eventually overcome, but we are 100% committed to getting the site running in peak form again. It is still possible to access here and there, so we are leaving the site open for those who want to try to gain access, but it will be tough until we can effectively counter the attack.

another dump.. crazy day, I'm good so far, hopefully it won't crash more
LOL that person was REALLY late to the party, and might just be kissing their coins goodbye. We'll see!

I almost sold seconds before he did it but didn't want to test my luck again after I did it earlier today and it finished good. Should have though, easy 3%.

Can't these graphs be reduced in size to maybe like 66% or 75%?  I mean, damn they be very huge and very numerous.
there was already a change to default to 100% width. in the earlier days, the width was not set and ended up at about 2000px or more. that was huge. so please be quiet and enjoy the scrolling.

hm? there shouldn't be a need to scroll (horizontally)

for me the images fit the width of the post box, no scrolling needed.
you missed the "in the earlier days" … see the corresponding thread in the "meta" forum that discusses such changes.

They seem to be done for today

How would we know?  Huh
we dont..  but i dont think it's going to be worth  to sell more..  in this market with large numbers..   yes price dropped  but  if you sell 4k coins.. it's realy hard to buy them back cheaper..    although i think they done well this time..

it's always happening when things are "just too good to be true" ..    then dump massive coins..   make some chain event of it . and panic sell starts to happen..  buy low again..

well good for me i burned myself a bit too much on this manipulations buy selling low..  when i'm not at the top of selling.. i just hold coins  most of the time..

if I look back at the past.. if i JuST holded my coins all the time.. i'd be much better of then doing the daytrade game Smiley

They were dumping every hour or so (or whenever the triangles stabilized?).

It's been > two hours since the last dump, and we've seen two triangles stabilize since then.

Not saying it's definitely over, but it sure seems like it.

bullish fact: today 4 (!) old (some really old) threads popped up on my watchlist with newbs (10-40 posts) commenting. Wink

Nah, the drops today were caused by a single person/group dumping (at three specific moments). They seem to be done for today, so the rally will most likely resume.

TA patterns don't really work on 15-min scale. Especially in Bitcoin. Too much volatility.

Well... it is the Wall Observer thread. But if anyone knows a way to do that I would be willing.
