Remembering that quote from the 90's:
"Life's a beach!" Cool

Haven't posted a pic/meme in here for awhile so thought I'd show what happened when I checked the price an hour ago since this morning @$37.7k thinking this would be the bottom:

Broke $36.8k.  Embarrassed

Hodl your Bitcoins.

This massive downward pressure is something else.

Gut feeling indicates possible bigtime recovery to new ATH's by late March/Apr.

Crossing fingers.

An interesting opinion...out of the mainstream, but would be super cool if it happens.

Russia has 600+ billion dollars in central bank reserves.  Sanction them all you want, they are isolated for a very long time.  Plus they export gas and oil among other things.  So they take control piece by piece, one region, and another.  Biden can't do shit, Ukraine can't do shit.  those troops and anti-air batteries are insurance against any intervention by any other party.  next up, china and taiwan Chinese Taipei ? see : https://olympics.com/ioc/chinese-taipei

So bitcoin is down, but how much more down until it clicks that what you need is actually bitcoin in these times ?

bitcoin is presently low because of the arrival of finance guys who short it to control it, as every other market, even if i think they will not succeed because of miners and hodlers.

but there has been for several years a perspective of closing the russian access to Swift as a good sanction. 8 years ago, it was not actioned at the moment of crimea annexion, but at this time bitcoin was much less "integrated" than now.
if they action it now, russia will be obliged to find another way for their exports and commerce, and IMHO btc should explode.

Note the unconventional cAPITALIZATION!
Price musings as of 2/21/22

Well boy oh boy.  What a moment in history.  I feel like we are seeing the world unfold into something so different and in some ways frightening.  Bitcoin has reached a point most of us here have been talking about for a very long time.  Both the value of the asset, and the knowledge of it in the world.  We are in all kinds of uncharted territories in every sense.  Wars, rumors of wars.  Free nations pivoting hard to totalitarianism, and old enemies rattling their sabres after over 70 years of relative peace.

And bitcoin is "at the end of this cycle top".  At least that's what it looks like.  And not only that, but we are at an inflection point.  Where we are right now is often followed by one of three things.  A rally, a dead cat bounce on the way down 'till the next halving, or a capitulation event.

I think it is most likely the latter.  Bitcoin is going to take a sever hit here... perhaps an unfavorable executive order from the US government.  Or some sort of FUD or selling.  The most recent of these events have been DEC 2019,  March 2020 , oven as recent as this last summer:

These capitations are when our spirits are broken, or when the permabulls buy the hardest.  And then they are followed by a climb.

I think this is a real possibility right here.  But, of course, no one can know the future.  We could also be in the no mans land on early 2018 where we endured a long slow grind before finally having the capituation event.  Or it is possible we start back up from right here... but that seemed much more likely weeks ago.  At this point we have broken a lot of support...

Anyway.  I certainly hope we do not freeze the death in the coming bitcoin winter.

But there is one thing I *WILL* put money on. That is we are in for a wild ride.  I just don't see two ways about that.  Something big is coming, I think.

I don’t think Russia are going to invade Ukraine.

To my understanding, Russia will not be invading Ukraine, because they would not be able to survive the trade sanctions levied against them, as a result.

Maybe they would, but Putin sure wouldn't.

The Ukraine issue is extremely important, for sure.  But what is happening in Canada is at LEAST a DEFCON 3 level event as far as US national security goes.  The country to our north is undergoing a Communist revolution.

I think "Fascist" might be a more fitting term. You can't call it Communist until a few factories are seized "by the workers". Say, all of Amazon's Canadian warehouses or something like that to start.

Unfortunately we may soon be dealing with both of these at the same time... throw in action in Taiwan, and well... the fuse is more than lit.
-snip-
I am, needless to say, worried.  A lot.

I am, too. If the Chinese start making trouble around Taiwan while the USA is looking at Moscow and Kiev, we might be in for a generous helping of doom. Luckily, China's navy is nowhere nearly as good as their other military forces and hopefully, Japan (on the contrary, one heck of a powerful navy) will keep on being a US- and West-friendly watchdog in the area. Taiwan has been Japanese until the other day anyway.

You know... I brought up the living generations in a previous post.  But there is one who is frighteningly absent now.  The generation that would see this for exactly what it is, and where it leads, because they would see history repeating itself.  Sadly these men and women are (nearly?) entirely dead.  And probably a lot are rolling over in their graves.

Some thoughts on bearish "2018 is back" posts: some bears are calling bear market, crypto winter, reincarnation of 2018 etc.. claiming we're 12 to 18 months away from the bottom. Wrong! Don't forget the top (or what they claim to be the top) was reached earlier (late October/early November?) so we're halfway through your beloved 2018 you're seeing in your wet dreams.

Why 80% down is not going to happen: inflation bordering with hyperinflation, corporations/billionaires not selling, blood is in the streets in the shitcoin/fiat/stocks world (ok ok this is arguable).

But... but... I heard WW3 is right around the corner? And it's bad for Bitcoin! WW3 is not going to happen. War mongering, nothing more nothing less.

I don’t think Russia are going to invade Ukraine. I think the US wants a war to happen & there are multiple reasons for that, mostly all to save their struggling economy & to justify reckless money printing & inflation. All I know is that long term BTC HODLER = not affected.

If the US wants a war then they will get one started no doubt.
Whatever happens you can be sure the msm will spin it that it was Russia’s fault no matter who starts it!

Is UKR/RUS the cause of another dump?

P.S. I'm a bit worried about the market cap. BTC lost >$100m in the last few days. Where is that money flowing to?  Sad

The money doesn't flow in or out as indicated by the market cap differential.  That $100 million was only a valuation not an actual holding.
