Dollar is getting debased.
If you measure something with a shorter and shorter meter, it does not increase. If you see DOW/USD going up, it might not be the numerator increasing, but the denominator decreasing.
Indeed. The only thing that debasing the dollar really does to benefit anyone is make debt smaller in real terms. I'm personally against debt and have none whatsoever of my own, but this economy has definitely been a promoter of low interest debt. Doing it over again and being certain of what I know now, I'm not sure if I could resist the opportunity to finance my house at 3% and then stick it into equities and even money market accounts getting 5%+. It was so obvious at the time, but I avoid debt like the plague. Not sure I'll ever forgive myself for not betting the farm on oil when futures went negative though...

Yeah, i enjoyed it too. You rarely see Allskycam photos of such events. It's a smart little fisheye lens on top of a raspberry pi camera and captures the sky all night long. I plan to set one on top of my roof, but the project has a larger realisation timeframe.

Sure looks like it’s Ukraine that’s going to get the next infusion, or are you considering that is already happening? I would think India would be China’s target, along with Africa. I have a little bit different take on the US motivation behind these foreign investments. I think the US gives away so much money to other countries because they want to make sure more people are using the dollar. Sort of a sneaky way to print money and grow adoption without causing more inflation that the USD has benefitted from for 100+ years. This playbook will burn once the BRICS currency takes hold (could have been BTC if it could scale on chain).
It's been happening for a good while. Hence the fuss when it started to be looked into. Probably the big turning point was the government changes in 2014 which some allege the US had some involvement in.
