Somehow I got into the wrong movie today, I wanted actually to watch "Honeybadger goes to moon" but I ended up in some third class drama called "Bipolar clown pumps doggie meme shit".

I have also come to see very clearly, that the younger generations have fallen into the trap of nickel-and-diming their life and fortunes away with throwing fiat at stupid meme coins, NFTs, silly Twitch subscriptions and gifting, gaming micro-transactions and pay-to-play scams, expensive daily coffees, expensive 'alt/green food products', subscribing not to just one streaming service but literally all of them including ones they never watch, clothing delivery subscriptions, food delivery subscriptions, fast food delivery services (with insane delivery fees), buying useless, valueless fad-driven baubles and trinkets on the regular, etc.

Literally hundreds of dollars a month exiting their bank accounts on pointless, really needless micro consumption. And then they want to constantly whine and complain about having no money.

I have 1300th mining it every day and only get 2.386735 coins a year of which 0.5966 is mine to keep.

I know this is a BTC area and I am not a big DOGE fan as a buyer or seller of it.

But it is still viable to mine and convert to cash and BTC

Is that not a problem?  According to an earlier post (no pun intended!) the purple paint must be “placed so that the bottom of the mark is not less than 3 feet from the ground or more than 5 feet from the ground.“ so if it goes right down to the ground it's not compliant.
Probably not serious, but you wouldn't want an issue on a technicality.

tl;dr: Posts painted entirely purple are more than is required.

Texas Penal Code § 30.05. Criminal Trespass

Sec 2 (D) the placement of identifying purple paint marks on trees or posts on the property, provided that the marks are:

(ii) placed so that the bottom of the mark is not less than three feet from the ground or more than five feet from the ground;  and


.... this seems quite clear that the mark needs to end 3 to 5 feet above the ground

.... a post painted all the way to the ground is just a purple post, not a purple-marked post

... at least it's an upgrade on a rusty old pipe

About these purple "no trespassing" markings, can't this be used by someone to get away with murder? You drag someone inside the fence, you shoot him dead, and then claim he was trespassing and did not respond to verbal warnings and warning shots. How would the authorities in the relevant USA territories deal with this?

I don't want to come across as overly-clever or anything, but cleaning up that biological evidence alone, after having committing a crime like that, is not likely to work out in your favor.

Interesting law that Purple Paint Law. I'd expect laws like this to be relics from the 1800s, so it's surprising to read the latest implementation was just 10 years ago.
As a non-American hiker, I understand gates, wires and "no trespassing" signs. But until yesterday, I would not have guessed purple poles hundreds of meters apart mean "dare and we shoot"! Any other laws I need to know about if I ever visit Texas? Cheesy

End of year/beginning of new year prediction:

Some well-known entity or person is going to announce a sizeable bitcoin acquisition. It could be Elon Musk (again), Jack, M. Saylor, Ark Invest, or some other notable person or company we haven't heard about yet.

It'll either happen right before 2021 ends, or shortly after 2022 begins.

Just leaving this here for the funzies.

I would definitely throw out Saylor and MicroStrategy, as they buy periodically and mostly below 5000 BTC. Also Jack Dorsey is no longer a Twitter CEO and I don’t see that there could be anything there. Mr.Mars is always an enigma, but he is currently focused on shitcoins, and it would also be strange to invest in BTC, while at the same time expressing concern about how Bitcoin mining is extremely harmful to the planet. Ark, however, is a company that has a focus on some other things, when it comes to Bitcoin, they are mostly focused on ETF - futures based.

About these purple "no trespassing" markings, can't this be used by someone to get away with murder? In contrast to the above, in many (most?) countries in the world, you will be put to prison if you shoot a burglar when he is inside your house, even if you legally carry a weapon. Even more surprising is the fact that, in the UK, police officers are not normally allowed to carry firearms (IIRC -- UK WOers, please confirm if that's the case).

I think somebody posted that this doesn't give you the right to shoot the intruder but you are allowed to use force to hold him and hand him over to LE.

In our country it's much worse, you may not touch the guy that is standing beside your bed with your money in his hands when you wake up. People here are joking that best you can do is offering him a sandwich and a coffee while he awaits with you the arrival of LE. Though they sometimes have unfortunate accidents on stairs while they wait with you for the coppers...

My doc once told me to use 50-100cm of very thick electric cables (like the ones that run into a house) instead of a baseball bat. He said the bat slips down the bone and doesn't crack it, while the installation cable winds around bones and makes sure they crack nicely (also seems to hurt a bit more). Trusting my doc on this and got myself some fat cables from my electrician friend Grin

On purple paint, I haven't looked it up but have unofficially heard that it may need to be 12 inches, top to bottom to be legal. I've seen a lot of guys just throw an old tyre over a fencepost, and paint that.

For our ranch, the pipe posts every 100 ft were entirely painted purple from top to bottom.

Big, tall, girthy, permanent, tornado-resistant, heavy metal pipes, dipped in purple paint; top-to-bottom.

I think he's fine. The regs are mostly about making sure that the paint is able to be seen, i.e., at roughly chest height to eye level, no high bushes or other obstructions, etc. That's because most trespassers will try to claim that they didn't or couldn't see the paint. I think his painted posts are fairly obvious, would definitely hold up in court.
