Boris got it a week ago but heard was recovering.
I guess her speech got under his nerves.
That 6666th post should go right to the wall on that thread in meta.
People start to go downhill properly right around the time he's popped off to hospital himself.
And it's not as if we're going to get the full truth. Perhaps a ten hour Twitter feed of his blue face and bulging eyes would convince more people to knuckle down.
He will be fine.
I wouldn't be so sure on this one. I think the people of the UK need to prepare themselves mentally for potential of losing their elected leader to this disease so the whole thing doesn't go to custard rapidly. It'll be a blow for the free world if he does succumb.
He doesn't strike me as someone who might exercise regularly or watch his diet too closely and clearly in one of the most stressful jobs in the country, not to mention the stressful circumstances. He's male, mid-50's (so no spring chicken) and then there's the unknown unknowns some people may be genetically predisposed to simply succumbing for no currently known reason ... not saying it will happen but be prepared UK.
This disease is very strange and I can believe some of the claims that it was perhaps cooked up in some Chinese lab. It seems to act like radiation poisoning in that the dosage you get could determine the battle you may have to endure and perhaps the outcome as well. Why is it that quite a few healthy nurses are dying from this otherwise?
Also Boris Johnson claimed he shook hands with "everyone" including patients of coronavirus back in early March:
https://news.sky.com/video/coronavirus-i-shook-hands-with-everybody-11948548If the virus takes out Boris this will be a shockwave across the world I think.
Boris Johnson comes across as quite a nice guy to me personally. The sort of person even if you heavily disagree with his politics you could still have a drink with and have a laugh.
I wish him the best. I believe his girlfriend / fiancee caught the virus as well. People in London seem to have it bad like in New York.
Really hope the west is not going to have to give in and everyone having to wear these ridiculous masks for the next few years.
I think this virus is going to have huge ramifications for China and the World Health Organisation when this is all over who were obviously trying to keep a lid on this for as long as possible. Even Australia declared this as a pandemic two weeks before the WHO, totally useless organisation. I suppose China are putting on a brave face and sort of claiming they have beat this monster and wanting to be perceived as helping others as a last throw of the dice. Their export market will be destroyed regardless I reckon. No one is going to be interested in buying luxury goods at the same rate as before. You can forget people so easily upgrading from an Iphone 11 to a 12 to 13 etc when unemployment is back in double digit percentage figures across many countries.
No chance the Huawei 5G contract will go ahead in Britain if anything happens to Boris. No way. People will be outraged. The British media would most likely make sure it doesn't happen at that point I believe. The UK Government can very quickly change course with a bit of media pressure from what I've seen.
I think the seriousness of this virus has become far more clear just in the last few weeks. Had the UK government Huawei 5G rebellion from early March taken place now it would probably have gained more support.
