I can only suggest you take care to spend much more time reading the material and much less time trying to pick up pennies.
Exempt from a few rules != exempt from everything. Considering that the quote isn't even relevant, I can only suggest the same. Roll Eyes

Not that the quote is actually really relevant to what I had stated.

There's nothing wrong with being wrong sometimes.
You should try it considering that you are wrong. Smiley

This thread depends on that thread. See? See!
If this were to be applied in WO thread, it would have to be applied in the rest of the forum. I disagree with your suggestion.

Dude this is so typical of you wretched sig-spammers.
Who, Holliday, me?

You waltz into a thread pretending to know things and voicing opinions on stuff.
Waltz in? I've been part of this thread since its inception. I have responded to someone who was replying to my statement. I think that you are confused.

But you have proved here and many times before that you are not reading the threads before ejaculating on this or that matter:

You are complaining that I may have missed/forgotten a post that is not even part of this thread Huh Not that the quote is actually really relevant to what I had stated.

The reason the WO thread is interesting is oftentimes because of the "garbage and idiots". The beautiful thing is, you can ignore the "garbage and idiots" that you don't like. There are quite a few users I've ignored specifically because of their posting in the WO thread, but some users who would most likely be moderated more often than not... *ahem r0ach*... are quite entertaining to me.

But you have proved here and many times before that you are not reading the threads before ejaculating on this or that matter:

Since option 1 is in the lead, I already wrote a draft of a policy change for that one, possibly addressing your concerns:

Quote
The Wall Observer is now owned by the forum. The listed owner is responsible for maintaining it. If the owner fails to maintain it (ie. I start getting too many complaints), then they will be replaced.

The thread is exempt from the following rules from the perspective of bitcointalk.org mods:

- Off-topicness (in relation to either Speculation or the topic itself).
- Double-posting etc., within reason.

(The thread owner can and should enforce those rules to some degree, however.)

A warning will show up about the above rule exemptions when you try to report a post in the thread.

Signatures won't show up in the thread anymore.

I can only suggest you take care to spend much more time reading the material and much less time trying to pick up pennies.

Because you started it when you insisted that all gender specific pronouns attributed to you were sexist, presumably because you enjoy the attention?
Are you trying to suggest that I am needy? Angry

hahahaha Lauda.. .If you are potentially going to resume to power, you have to take these nutjobs in stride and humor, no?
I have gotten used to it over the years. Tongue

However, candidates displaying a level of utter contempt for the WO by saying it was 'full of garbage AND idiots' are unlikely to find it is the best way to get people to vote for them to be its moderator.
You are highly confused. The entity that wins this (infofront is the likely winner as of now) has zero benefit from it. He/she/it is doing everyone else a huge favor with their contribution. Therefore, there is no reason to "campaign" for this in any way.

The reason the WO thread is interesting is oftentimes because of the "garbage and idiots". The beautiful thing is, you can ignore the "garbage and idiots" that you don't like.   I voted for Lauda.

That was obvious.

It has everything to do with free speech and also everything to do with order.  Right now I can't exercise any form of speech in the WO thread because it is locked.  The newly elected moderator is the first step to getting the thread unlocked.  Also, I like a modicum of order; it makes the topic easier to follow.

It was locked because it did not have a moderator at all.

I like that when I get a notification of activity in a thread I follow that it will contain something topical and worthy of my time rather than a Nazi woman wearing Bitcoin symbol arm band and sporting flashing green lights for breasts.  It's not funny, not entertaining, not offensive to me personally but mainly it's not topical.  Then other people want to weigh in on that off-topic post with their own critiques, criticisms, shaming and various other expressions of "free speech" and the thread goes to shit.

Feel free to exercise your free speech by creating a new thread in the society section about whatever the hell you want and then let people decide whether they care to waste their time in there.  Perhaps you don't realize the reason the thread was locked in the first place.  It's those "free speech" off topic posts that created the censorship - we're still free to make our posts just not in the WO thread because it was "out of control".  It became a headache for the administrator of this board; the easiest thing for him to do would be to leave it locked.  This should lead any sane individual to realize that the WO thread WAS full of garbage AND idiots.

If you want free speech, put on placard and dance around in the streets - or - if you want free speech in here, open a new thread with your off-topic rants.  When I say "you" I'm talking to all those idiots who caused the complaints that led to the WO thread being locked in the first place.  This is not the end of the problem; it's a second chance and from what I see in this thread, we may be destined to repeat the same mistake.  Free speech doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want and there are no consequences - it only means the government can't penalize you for saying it.

So you want free speech, but you want it controlled? You believe in 'order'.  OK, I see.

Maybe it was 'full of garbage and idiots', maybe that is an exaggeration.  Maybe it was tiresome at times, maybe that disorder was part of its allure.

However, candidates displaying a level of utter contempt for the WO by saying it was 'full of garbage AND idiots' are unlikely to find it is the best way to get people to vote for them to be its moderator.

I only saw xhomerx10's post because you quoted him, I have him on ignore (possibly due to me ignoring pretty much anyone with a paid sig). The reason I'm pointing that out is because I'm compelled to respond to his post with the following: L2Ignore!

There is a reason the un-moderated WO fork has won. Heavy handed moderation in the WO thread will certainly kill it. Self-moderation via the ignore button is the correct approach.

I'm all for the "on-topic" rule everywhere in the forum, except the WO thread. Moderation in the WO thread should only be used for the really nasty stuff (threats or vulgar material, etc...).

The next 12 hours are critical and this is like watching paint dry.

Ok, I have a question... WHO are those that have voted for Lauda? WHY? Do YOU not believe in FREE SPEECH?

I have nothing against Lauda, and his proposal for moderation is perfectly legit but... he/she/it/them has already stated that WO was full of garbage (and idiots) and considers borderline offtopic OPINIONS (such as of r0ach's) as "spam". I won't even mention his * opinion about casual altcoins talk or how * literally said that the best way to help would be entirely deleting the thread.

Is this really what YOU want?

Is it really what you want for your SONS?

Bejasus ... have I realised how much like hurding cats this could be?

Duhhh yeah because I have been here for over half  a decade , but whatever that's not the point ...

Would I sound totally insane if I said I feel like everyone has taken this far too seriously , whilst also not seriously
enough...

But whatever- - vote IS a vote - no matter what the TPTB have tried to manoeuvre recently ...

I am obviously not going to win this one Sad and so be it...

I just hope it works out for the best..  all the best to the new owner and I appreciate
the kind words from several of you guys.

At the end of the day as important as this thread IS, which it IS, and as much as it is ingrained in oldtimers and many bitcointalk originals - it's the furthering of understanding of cryptocurrency , of the new paradigm , of the potential , of the moon, of the fucking awesome endeavours of those rare diamonds of human beings- that made this all possible that brought me here.

Personsally I would have preferred this thread to go to an actual full on participant (no offence - infofront- and TBH you seem like a sound guy and level guy that will do a good job)  and Democracy is Democracy.

So I hope this thread can find its heart again- - as dark as it maybe at times ... and I hope that it can prevail and ultimatly in the same energy as Adam and Theymos both have given to the space - it can continue to help to make Bitcoin and cryptocurrency thrive.

I must admit I tired of the - excessive shit first and then the i relentless hostility on the thread at times - and I genuinely admire many of the posters, and miss some of the more insightful posters of yesteryear - infact I would
like to see some come back!

Either way - I think I may stick some electrodes into monkey- because I miss monkey

Also monkey was pretty damn smart in his youth - damn near psyhcic in his
longer term calls.

I actually managed to beat my monkey.

I always enjoyed beating my monkey.
and monkey only ever saw what we showed it)

Anyway......

(But monkey only ever did what monkey saw-

Don't be sad, buddy. I'd vote for you if infofront was not doing such a great job (by doing nothing at all) in his own thread.

Personally - I know few "bitcoiners" worth their salt that do not have this thread as part of their
Bitcoin diet - it IS indeed one of barometers of sentiment in the market and always been a source of many many newses, dooooooms and Antifudz (nothing to do with the soros organisation antifa)  oh yeah and of course we come to this thread for the lulz.

(But monkey only ever did what monkey saw)

Ps As a non moderator/thread owner/ candidate out of running  -with no skin in the game , and little concern for the status quo or fashion or what anyone thinks -  I can, and happily will state that Roach & co's comments as valid and legitimate and within their rights to hold such views as they are/think they are - it still does not make those views anything more than the misguided, stunted views of little little men - who have themselves been made bitches- by the very women they perceive as whores/prostitutes/bitches.

Like I said earlier - you messed up cookies.

Anyway - looking forward to the new W/O thread

That signature campaign pay by the word? Or what?  Roll Eyes

Depends upon the sig campaign.

Many of them pay by the post, up to a certain number of posts per pay period.

They usually require a certain amount of substance within the post in order for the post to NOT be considered as spam.

So far, in my nearly two years of participation in sig campaigns, I have not had any issue or even borderline issue in terms of reaching quantity of posts or substantive contributions within my posts.  In that regard, my posts are largely similar to what they had been prior to my joining any signature campaign, and you?

Although I loathe Trump and his supporters I do think a supporter of his would be a more appropriate choice here..
In other words I vote loud mouth aggressive troll.
Assuming that would provide a less restrictive uptight non-Hillary supporter environment.

At no point in this topic did someone bothering explaining what it is..
