If the amount of your coins is small, they can be stored in online wallets. If these are large amounts to avoid hacking by hackers and other risks, I advise you to keep them in cold wallets or use hardware wallets, such as Ledger Nano, Trezor or others

What wallets should i use for altcoins? Bought some LTC not sure what's better

There are a lot of accessible wallets for ERC-20 tokens out there. You can use Metamask, MyEtherWallet, Hardware wallets, or mobile wallets. Just choose what you think is more convenient for you to use. The most secured way of storing your crypto is keeping it in a hardware wallet.

The choice of the wallet depends of for what you need the cryptocurrency. To simply store the savings it is better to use hardware wallets. Trezor can be as an example. For everyday use it is better to find a desktop or online wallet.

I am storing all my coins on different exchanges. I mean it is safer than to hold everything on your wallet that could also be hacked. For all tokens I downloaded mycrypto and I am very happy with it till now.

Last time I like multicurrency wallets more and more. They are easy to use because you don’t need to constantly switch between your wallets if your coins are on different blockchains. The wallet I use is called MyCrypto.

What wallets should i use for altcoins? Bought some LTC not sure what's better

There are several choices of wallets for the altcoins such as Coinomi, shafeshift, or myetherwallet(MEW).
But the most useful wallets among them was MEW where it is most likely being chose by the new ICO token project
in this business, right?

Im currently use Imtoken wallet, MEW and metamask to store tokens from the airdrop and bounty that I follow. But because I am active, Imtoken is the main choice. Because besides being practical it can also be used at any time wherever I am. When you want to sell tokens in your wallet and make transfers.

There are different types of Altcoin's which has a different types of wallets. As everybody knows that Myetherwallet is best for all types of ERC20 coins, Waves wallet is best for the Waves platform coin, and many more wallets for other types of coins.
But you are asking about Litecoin, so Myetherwallet is best option, but you can also give a strong security to your wallet by using Trezor or MEW which can never being hack by anyone. And that's why i suggest to using these security wallets and you could hold your coins till your desired time without any problem.

Why not use a coinbase wallet (web wallet) to save your altcoins, they have LTC, ETH, BTC, BCH and ETC wallets, coinbase founded in 2012.

- do not send your LTC to myetherwallet -

There are the altcoins that have their own blockchain which means that they have their own dedicated wallets that they are used for such coins are coins like neo and litecoin and that is the coins that you are going to have to download their own wallets for. If you are talking about altcoins that are built on the ethereum network then you can just use wallets like myetherwallet to store your coins

For Litecoin you can use their own wallet. As for the other coins, you should consider the type of the coin (erc-20 or other), and use the appropriate one.

There are many wallets nowadays that support separate blockchain such as Litecoin, EOS, Stellar. I suggest you use Houbi wallet of Houbi, they are one of the biggest companies in the crypto industry. So can trust the product they give

Mew is the best choice to store your altcoins, theres a lot wallets to hold our coins but i believe MEW is the best wallet in cryptocurrency. Access your wallet very carefully and carefull about email phising, if you very carefull when accessing your wallet your coin will fine.
the best way is to simply use the keystore file that you have stored on a flash drive to which no one else has access. then you can not worry at all

especially for erc-20 coins I think it's better to keep it in myetherwallet wallet. but that doesn't mean another wallet is bad for storing erc-20 coins, only I think the best is myetherwallet wallet.

i have two separate wallets for my bitcoins and ethereum.  But recently, I have read that a hardware wallet is the best option.  Still looking into this though.

What wallets should i use for altcoins? Bought some LTC not sure what's better

If you are new in crypto, i think you can use exchange wallet to store your coin for now.
Later if you have knowledge about your coin, you can use your personal wallet in your pc, a desktop client wallet.
For example if you bought your ltc in exchange, you must withdraw your ltc from exchange to your desktop wallet.
