Which wallets are the best for keeping a wide variety of altcoins?
Although it is very good to diversify and not put all your eggs in one basket but if you want to keep them in one wallet, you should use a hardware wallet because they are safer and more reliable.

In the current time I use MEW only, because others are not so reliable for me, they have too many troubles and delays, and MEW is quite suitble for work.

Most of the altcoins that exist are ERC20 tokens so the best option to keep them safe is MyEtherWallet. But the bad news is it is not safe to access directly anymore and you'll need Metamask so you will not get hacked if you transfer them to exchanges.

I use my etherwallet and I always try to be security conscious and over protective of my keys where I keep them and when it is required.

I think that MEW can be concidered the best wallet at the moment, because it is multicurrency and in addition it is very convenient to use. I do not use others.

For ERC20 based coin, I use imtoken.. For me, its a friendly user wallet that spends small amount of gwei every transaction..
I also use coin wallet..
But nowadays, there's a lot of different wallet for altcoins using windows or Linux that can be used in mining..

I use the most easy to use Eferum wallet. It is called myetherwallet and I do not have any claims to it, only happiness from its use.

You can definitely try myetherwallet, it is, in my opinion the best and easiest wallet out there, you can create multiple wallets in just a couple of minutes, and can asign to them the type of security you want and feel more comfortable with, I also use Edge on android and it is good too, quite easy to use.

If a coin is based on ERC20 then MyEtherWallet is a good choice.

If they follow the ERC20 blockchain, they can be added to MyEtherWallet.
But if you want a wallet where you can keep NEO or LTC or BTC you can use JAXX Wallet.
They say that Ledger it s the perfect offline wallet non-hackeble...
Watch out for scammers!!!

If you have erc-20 tokens, I suggest you keep them in Mew, Eidoo, Trust wallets. We recommend keeping Nep-5 based tokens in the Neon wallet. I would recommend keeping the other coins out of it in their own wallets.
