2017 began as a bullish year for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on the market.... It was crypto's best moment as it went into the mainstream so quickly.

Do you think that 2017 was the "Golden Year of Crypto"? Or is the best is yet to come? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Smiley
Having been in this space when BTC was less than $1,000, and seeing that prices rise to all time high in 2017, there is no doubt 2017 remains the "golden year of crypto". 2017 is a reference year and it will continue to be so, not just because of the price, but because it opened the way for so many persons to know and adopt into cryptocurrency and blockchain.
I may not experience that cheaper bitcoin but looking at the price history of bitcoin I can also say that 2017 was the best year and I’m so happy that I came here during that time because I was able to make profit at the very first year of my experience with bitcoin. We are all waiting for another wave of pump with bitcoin, and there’s a higher expectation this time so I hope if we reaches another peak, people will not take profit easily until we make the best prices.

In my opinion,  I think the best is yet to come for Bitcoin and the whole of crypto. The 2017 bull run was never meant to be sustainable and it wasn't healthy for a market to keep growing without retracing or correcting. As much as we want the market to behave that way, It can't be, unfortunately.  I remember it was fueled by the aftermath of bitcoin's halving, ICOs, limited real world use cases and we also had a lot of speculators than actual crypto users who were only interested in how high Bitcoin went in the shortest time possible.

Right now, We haven't had an epic run like that of 2017 but I'm impressed with how far we have come. So far so good, there are more "actual" users and crypto is getting adopted with each passing day from merchants & stores, to companies making use of crypto as their primary payment method to using crypto for everyday activities like paying for a cup of coffee thanks to the crypto debit cards and Bitcoin ATMs available in different parts of the world.

We'll have another chance and this time, we'll go beyond a $1 trillion marketcap.

I hope so. But with tightening regulations, it'll become quite challenging for crypto to soar towards new ATHs in price. Demand for crypto is not the same as it used to be back in 2017. Maybe with COVID-19 destroying the world's economy, more money will start pouring into the market. It seems to me that ICOs were the main trigger of crypto's bull market run in 2017. The "De-Fi" movement might have a positive sentiment over the entire crypto/Blockchain industry as people look for an exit route to the existing monetary system. If demand for "De-Fi" continues, then crypto will be able to reach $1 Trillion in market cap and beyond. For what I know, this is just speculation than anything else.

As long as developers continue to build a solid foundation for the crypto/Blockchain space, nothing should go wrong. All that matters is utility/usability instead of price per coin. And if cryptocurrencies are useful to the world, then the industry will survive for a long time. If 2017 is not "The Golden Year of Crypto", then the best is yet to come. We just have to be patient in order to obtain great results in the future. Just my opinion Smiley

So far it looks like it a bit, but we can't really say golden "year" if we are being honest. If you take the average of the price in 2017 you will see that it was lower than 2020 and probably ever year after 2017 as well, even 2018 was higher in average. Reason for this was the fact that it was under 1k for at least 6 months, after that BCH came out and before it was published price became like 3k, and by the end of the year it was 20k, so I understand that it peaked at 20k but most of the year it was between 1k and 3k, only in late November and all of December that it was high.

So, we could say that "December 2017 was the golden month of bitcoin" and it will be correct, you can also call 2017 as a whole a golden year if you want to, but if you take the average price of that year, 2017 was not the highest.

We can't say that 2017 is the "Golden Year of Crypto", as we are at the very beginning of the development of crypto. I am sure that there will be many more surprises in the future, which will be associated not only with the price of BTC. but also the appearance of new altcoins that will attract attention.

Yes I agreed, it hard to say that 2017 is the Golden year for Cryptocurrency, there are a lot of bounty hunters and investors earned so much by this year of 2017 we cannot deny that compared for the ICO project campaigns that arise up when 2018 entered even up to now, none of the project campaigns gave a good profit whether you are investors or bounty hunters.
We have to go back to the time of 2013 when cryptocurrency had a golden time. Over 800 billion was the market of cryptocurrency, compared to 350 billion. Half the difference of cryptocurrency can't make a golden time. 2017 was the highest peak value until this time. I believe next year's situation could be 5 trillion US dollars.

During the last quarter of 2017, we can say that it's the Golden Days of Bitcoin. We've seen how Bitcoin pumped at it's Best that time and so many investors got hooked with that event. Bitcoin marked a history at that time. And because of that cryptocurrency became known to most people and lots of them became an investor with several ICO's. So many people also made rich by Bitcoin during that time. And now everyone is hoping for the next Golden days of Bitcoin.
It's the Golden Days of Bitcoin so far. I might say that it's possible to make that happen again in the near future. We're still in the developing stage of cryptocurrency and even not in its peak. We're blessed to know it early compared to other people. In that year, so many things predictions have come true. People gained too much money during that time. Launching of altcoins are all over the internet. I remember that time, I'm so lucky to knew that time about cryptocurrency and unlucky because I'm not be able to have atleast 1 BTC before it got to it's peak. We're still hoping that it will happen again not only for BTC as well as other cryptocurrency.

2017 was the golden age of ICO projects, not Bitcoin. For me, Bitcoin will grow even more and go much further than it is now. It is important that we are facing a degrading economy so Bitcoin's price is constrained during this period as well.
When the disease is gradually controlled and vaccines are fully provided, that will be when Bitcoin's strongest growth. in the next 2 to 3 years we will see Bitcoin cross the ATH mark of 2017.

I agree that 2017 is the golden year of cryptocurrencies, bitcoin hit $ 20,000 and eth hit a price of $ 1300. 2017 was also a great year for ICOs and investors alike, almost all ICOs rose in price when listed on exchanges.

Everyone agrees that by far 2017 has been the best year for the crypto market. I remember that nearly all projects achieved success in 2017.
2017 was also the year when bitcoin hit a record price of $ 20,000, and nearly everyone made money in 2017.

yes, right then I owned 2 BTC and sold it when the market exploded in 2017, it was also a golden year for me personally as it has made huge profits from bitcoin and some of the top altcoins. So, I think 2017 was a golden year for me and I will never forget that beautiful moment.
is that all you get from investing or collecting from the results of several campaigns that you have participated in?
I collected the results of several bounty projects that I participated in before 2017. when everything increased I earned 1 BTC from selling most of the altcoin assets I received from the bounty campaign. you could say my trading capital and investment from crypto came from the results of following the campaigns that I collected so that it could become enough capital to start trading and investing.

I have to agree that 2017 is the best year of crypto when ICOs are booming. I wish Ant Man, the Pym Particle and the quantum realm are real so that we can go back through time to take advantage of it. I only got serious in cryptocurrency investing sometime in October 2017 and got engaged into airdrops and bounties on the following month. That year alone saved me from financial disaster.

I was drowned in debt, selling some of my gadgets just to keep me survive, not having a stable job, underestimated by my parents, etc., because they say that I’m a complete failure. Because of that 2017 big bull run, it saved me financially and gave back much more to my family and those in need. I also lived my dream in traveling here and there, thanks to my 2017 decision.

Although that DeFi is the new trend that keep our hopes alive that Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies are going to experience another bull run in the future, it may not be the same as the Golden Year of 2017.

Yes 2017 was really god year for crypto market. Bitcoin price hiked a lot and touched the highest point. But it's not only about bitcoin. Many coins like ethereum, xrp, neo also touched their highest value. Many people who hold crypto atleast high cap coins make huge amount of profits. After that we saw a very bad market conditions. And after so long time in 2020 we saw a good green market now. We saw some incredible growth on many mid cap coins. People make lots of profit this year too. But stpill 2017 will be the golden time of all time.

because that year was the highest fomo on crypto and all coins went up at that time.
but many people who compare it to now because they joined that year feel that crypto is a good place to get money quickly, even though they don't know that in previous years crypto prices were exactly the same when bulls didn't happen.
no one has experienced such an increase.

Yes bro, I don't see any other year as profitable as 2017 in my few years of being in the crypto space and am sure some of the crypto old timers will equally agree to this, 2017 was a year of life changing for many people but for me I was still a newbie so I didn't take much advantage of the period.
2017 was a year in the history of cryptocurrencies that was very remarkable, many crypto enthusiast or hodlers earned massive profits, many ICOs boomed and Airdrop was instant hit and profitable, yes it can be refer as the golden year of cryptos ever since the price has not reached a new ATH to surpass the last one at $20K.
However the price had not done badly  market volume and price Cap had  been very encouraging, cryptos acceptance is gaining ground on daily basis, many exchanges are coming on board etc all these are good signs and indication that the future is very bright.

2017 was surely a great year for crypto, but for the title of golden year? We don't know that yet. There are so many features that Crypto could offer to us and it's not even close to the end. We are still in under development of crypto and people with so many great ideas will represent the idea to the community later.

ahh your saying that golden year has not yet to come or not yet experienced ?  because cryptos are not yet on thier final form ? thats a good insight .

if people are like you that dont treat last bull as the best time , those people are still here and are expecting for more  but this post can encourage them again to comeback  . they can still change thier short term mindset and extend it to longer   . at the end , we all can get much benefits that is never been experienced before  .

2017, it can be said that the year when new project developers are familiar with crypto, they only create one model name for crypto / coin they want to develop in the market, not many people know about a particular coin, so it is very natural for investors, investments, companies to only focus on one project / coin, so it is very reasonable for the price to soar.

Different today, on the contrary, in the body of the project, several other projects were broken up to trade on the market, for example Tron etc.

Many people are currently confused about which crypto to invest in, new coins appear with a higher price and less supply, whereas old coins have a large supply at a low price, which is what makes cryptocurrency flooded.

The current crypto golden age is not balanced, only certain cryptos are experiencing their heyday, in contrast to 2017 which was almost evenly distributed to all cryptos on the market.
