2017 was surely a great year for crypto, but for the title of golden year? We don't know that yet. There are so many features that Crypto could offer to us and it's not even close to the end. We are still in under development of crypto and people with so many great ideas will represent the idea to the community later.

Golden year for some but not for many newbies who lost heavily as a result of lack of understanding, 2017 was like both a good and bad year for different people, for those who are already in the game and knows how the market operates took advantage of it and for the newbies who have no clue how the market operates got burnt big time.

May be yes may be no.
If we want to know about that, let see in next year 2021.
And i think bitcoin will be higher than 2017.

Each year, bitcoin is developing in terms of its price, becoming more expensive which is good for hodlers. And also in terms of market adoption. We just experienced a good hype in cryptocurrency holistically in 2017, but this doesn't mean that this kind of scenario will not going to happen again. Right now, altcoins are getting better, but one thing I noticed is that, these altcoins are following the price of bitcoin. Meaning, the more projects that is getting better, the more people will buy Bitcoin because sooner or later, they will also notice this pattern of Bitcoin leading almost all the cryptocurrency to increase their market price.

I told you above, bitcoin may be will be higher than 2017.
About altcoin, Maybe not all altcoins will follow bitcoin. And I think it all depends on their program.
And in this year bitcoin start laying the foundation for the best price in the last month or next year.
Let's wait and see...

Do you think that 2017 was the "Golden Year of Crypto"? Or is the best is yet to come? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Smiley
It is only the beginning of the golden year because there will definitely be a year when crypto is booming again with even more fantastic prices and crypto enthusiasts will already know how to take part in the golden era.

In terms of overall market growth, 2017 was the most prosperous year. All markets have a bullish trend, but within this price, the increase is a huge risk that the value is pushed too high.
The majority of projects do not have their products after the ICO. All are just bubbles.
The year 2019-2020 is better because the majority of old projects already have specific products and are still developing. I think the market is showing its value right now.

We can't say that 2017 is the "Golden Year of Crypto", as we are at the very beginning of the development of crypto. I am sure that there will be many more surprises in the future, which will be associated not only with the price of BTC. but also the appearance of new altcoins that will attract attention.

I agree with you, because 2017 was the year when cryptocurrency became famous, therefore many investors are interested to investing in cryptocurrency and make the price of cryptocurrency increase very high in 2017, so I also believe that in the future there will be unexpected things about cryptocurrency and make cryptocurrency famous again, so that the price will increase very high and exceed the price of cryptocurrency in 2017.

2017 as the gold and the old year of the crypto markets is still the dream year by many crypto traders, investors. Unfortunately, the years after 2017 were not as successful as expected due because of the known mess in the crypto industry. New altcoins are released every year but none of the new projects can go up in terms of value. I have no idea when this drama will end and crypto investors will feel better in green markets.

Yes bro, I don't see any other year as profitable as 2017 in my few years of being in the crypto space and am sure some of the crypto old timers will equally agree to this, 2017 was a year of life changing for many people but for me I was still a newbie so I didn't take much advantage of the period.

It depends on how you determine the "golden year". If you conclude it based on the price of crypto coins, then I agree if 2017 is the best year so far. But if you conclude it based on the quality of the crypto project, its adoption around the world, and the use for various purposes, then I think the current year is better. By the way, I think the golden year of Bitcoin doesn't always determine based on the prices on the market. You also can consider some factors as I said before^.

No, what we have in 2017 is not the golden year of crypto. What I think is this is just the beginning. Most people think that this is the golden year because this is the very first time it reached the price that no one anticipated and the whole world was shocked about it.

It was the most profitable year because it was so easy to gain a thousand percent profit with almost every ICO or altcoin. Now, there are profits, but it is really hard to predict which coin will explode to the moon. Currently, we no longer see such increases on DeFi coins.
Don't forget that, during the 2017 in the eyes of ICO things where good because of their new invention compared to this 2020 with the event of Defi, this two event has actually helped in the beginning to a new era in the cryptocurrency industry. What happened in 2017 has taught us a big lesson that we won't take this 2020. The hype of 2017 did more harm than we thought and investors are just be careful with the 2020 hypes.
Therefore, 2017 is hardly a golden year for cryptocurrency. Most likely, it can be considered a year of great opportunities for participants in the cryptocurrency market.
The rise in prices for cryptocurrency in 2017, and first of all for bitcoin, was too fast and therefore it was followed by the same rapid and deep fall, and this also led to the onset of the mevezhy market for the next two years.
I don't know if this can happen again in the future, but the cryptocurrency market was not prepared for such growth then.
I think It will depend on the people point of view if 2017 is the golden year of bitcoin, Those who experience it will surely agree that 2017 is the golden year since the price leap of bitcoin a year after that is so huge that even the public was curious what's happening. It also gave so much publicity that year because of media reporting it's growth on national television. As a crypto believer, We will all agree that 2017 won't be the last and we should expect an equal or more than what happened that year.

2017 was the bubble year for crypto with all the cloud mining and ponzi schemes still active or begining. With so many ICOs pumping to incredible numbers and people believing there would be no end to it. The time when so many projects were abandoned and died.

It was definitely a year of hype but it wasn't a golden year. The best is yest to come with Bitcoin reaching a new high.

We can't say that 2017 is the Golden Year of Crypto because the development of bitcoin is just getting started. I believe Golden year of bitcoin is just coming, just wait and watch! If almost all people globally will accept and use bitcoin and government will legalize it, I think the value of bitcoin will increase more than the last 2017 ATH.
2017 was definitely a great year for crypto but with the surprises that happened to crypto everyday, i believe the best or the golden year for crypto is still yet to come. Bitcoin and other altcoins at the moment may have low prices but once there are great news that will hit the market, crypto prices will definitely reach its all time high price again.

Oh yeah it definitely was. It was the time where you just made a white paper, create your own coin and it would take value because people were willing to buy it because of the hype. The sudden rise in value of the coins was beneficial to those who started crypto not long ago before 2017. I still regret missing the opportunity that year gave.

And developers still thought that they can still do that copy another developer's whitepaper create a fake team and create a fake roadmap and make money, there are members here who screened a lot of projects and weed out the good one to the bad one, if you want to have another opportunity educate yourself and do your research on coins that you intend to invest, not just pick any coin like what happen back 2017.

I think the increase in 2017 is the best for now, so going forward sooner or later there will be other increases.
i wonder when bitcoin will reach 100k $.This year the crypto market is starting to improve due to defi, uniswap projects and maybe other things that will boost the market later.

From the look of things, I think the best is yet to come but however I would say that 2017 can be seen as the year which brought a turning point in the crypto space. Just as you rightly said, Bitcoin grew in a huge way both in price and other areas thus bringing a very good attention to the crypto space. Also at the same moment, many altcoins rose to prominence in fact the list is endless. But nevertheless, comparing the ideas which developers are bringing up everyday (excluding the scam ones) one can say that in fact there is more to witness in the near future.

I joined here in 2017 and that year was the best for me personally...
to be honest, for me, the best year in crypto was between Q3 2017 - Q2 2018, at that time I could make tens of thousands of dollars. I hope HYPE will be re-created like that year. I agree 2017 is a 'golden year for crypto'.
