Also, what happened with Elacoins launch? That i keep hearing so much about didn't even follow it.

it was a circus, pretty fun though  Grin Grin

Yea elacoin had such potential...

Yeah I wrote about the same thing, a few months back about a currency that would regulate the profitability. Basically 5gh will always give you the same amount of earnings. As the reward block would adjust accordingly to difficulty.

this sounds like good one, at least from its professional website, as compared to the craps like FC2 (lol), I would like Bitcoin-2 better  Grin

Yeah lol. We need someone to set up a pool at launch for small miners like myself.

I vote for Paul he set up some awesome pools for the other coins like CNC.

Hmmmm quick transactions, professional website, a reasonable re-target time, decent block reward. This could very well become something big IF the launch doesn't fail like elacoin.

Agreed.  The launch has to be good.

From Twitter:

WorldCoin ‏@WorldCoinWDC 1h
Launch Wednesday 5/14/13 between 6-10PM EST

First post says in 2 days. Then later in the post says Wednesday. Now twitter says Wednesday the 14th (which is Tuesday)

My confidence in this coin is totally sky high.

It said almost 2 days, when this was posted almost 2 days is Wednesday, Big deal that they posted a wrong date on twitter. They have the best site out of all these other coins, if they even have one it seems. They have something innovative and new.

If that's it all it takes for you to not have confidence in things your world must be pretty darn scary.

Yea I'm amazed some of those other coins are worth anything. CNC being a big one that had no site, no developer, no early announcement. A coins worth is based in the faith of the people, this one may have what it takes.

I think this one has some promise. Looking forward to the launch.

- Decent coin name (this is big if the coin is ever going to go anywhere long term... coins like YAC are gonna struggle here)
- Solves a problem with cryptocurrencies with super fast transactions
- Has a professional looking website and a developer who is engaging with the forum and isn't hiding away

Still a lot of things that could go wrong, but so far so good.

Would love to see launch that doesn't end up being a farcical botch job.

I think that's why they gave a time range instead of a specific time. That way if there are problems there will be time to fix them and not have people bitching about it being late. lol

Pretty smart if you ask me.

Too bad he's taking a good name and not using it for something worthwhile. I was trying to figure out a "WorldCoin" where every human on the planet gets one coin as initial wealth distribution. A noble goal, but unfortunately not realistic Embarrassed unless somebody has an idea of how that could work?

I've thought of that concept as well. A coin where everybody starts out with a small amount, then mine to keep it going but still have that amount banked to distribute. Hmmmm Smiley

Love the concept but:  How do you confirm that distinct people are actually getting the coin while you distribute it?  The best you could do is require passport IDs and have some agreement with embassies to confirm they are valid.  Then how do you securely deliver to the recipients?
If we limit ourselves to those with an Internet connection, then we could say one coin for each with an IP address.  Timekoin does this kind of thing.  This is not perfect either with ISPs moving to NATs to conserve the IP address space each has.

what about a coin that has an amount of coins in circulation equal to the population of earth at any time in its life? The population is growing every day.

There is no way to distribute coins to everyone in the world, you might as well give up on that part.

wouldnt that mean you would have to create something like 7billion coins in the first day?

Not first day. I would think more like a few million first day, maybe reach the 7bil mark within a few years and then keep up with the population of earth from there.
